I FEEL ALIVE WHEN I'M WITH YOU She flew fast towards the Culinary Club, she had got held up and now she was going to be late if she didn't hurry. She had hidden her presence so no humans could see her, making her black wings that were on her back not be seen to those that couldn't see them. Her hair was in a pony-tail. Her club activities had taken far long than she had intended and she was caught entertaining a male student that would not leave her alone even when she excused herself formally from the club. As club president, she had to stay to at least the near end of it. She loved being in the Hostess Club, it made her feel like she could use her abilities to help again. She used her ability to calm a room to help the students and even her club members relax and have a good time. She knew that she had to get to the room fast otherwise she would be late and not able to get the good counter she liked. She had reached the open door to the building and had snapped her wings closed at the last second. This would have resulted in her landing gracefully like any other angel, but she wasn't any other angel. The moment her wings closed, she yelped as her body immediately fell to the ground. Due to her durability of being what she is, the fall didn't cause any damage to her, just some pain and a bruised ego. She was always clumsy.
"Ooooh, I hope i'm not late!" Evangeline said to herself as she ran now towards the Home Economics room. She ran fast, her breathing picked up as she used alot of her energy. Flying was easy for her, but she had been tired lately from all of her duties to the two clubs she was in as well as her job at the Cafe. Coming to sudden stop at the door to the classroom, she about fell over from the lack of balance. "I'm here, sorry if i'm late!" Evangeline said loudly as she entered the room, putting her hands on her knees as she bent over to breath hard. She looked around, either she missed the entire club activity, or she was way early and didn't know it. "Ah, perhaps i'm early?" She questioned to herself as she walked in. Grabbing her cute hello kitty apron that went to about the bottom of her uniform skirt. She had on a red plaid short skirt with her short sleeved white dress shirt tucked into her skirt with a red uniform vest. She wore her long black leather laced up boots with her red and black stripped socks that just showed above the tops of the boots.
"Well, I guess i'll get started." Evangeline got out her bowls and kitchen tools. She wanted to make a cake today, and she hoped she could share it with everyone. She worked at a cafe, The Old Moon Cafe, and she loved to bake. She loved how she could make people happy with her cooking and her Hostess position. She loved humanity, and the love she felt for humanity was the reason she fell. Slowly she worked to create the cake mix she knew by heart. Today's cake was a chocolate one with white butter creme frosting with a hopeful zebra design on it with hot pink and lime green designs around it. Softly she started to sing like she does in the cafe when she works. She spoke in her native tongue of enochian, the angelic language all angels knew instinctualy. "Praise Him, praise Him, all ye creatures, bless the father bless the lamb," She continued on singing her hymn like she did in her past days up in heaven, bringing herself some measure of reminiscing due to the way the language of the angels slipped off her tongue easily.

Could you say goodbye to yesterday? Erin couldn't honestly think of a better way to relax other than cooking. That had been the reason she started this club. Erin had never really been the type to enjoy club activities, except of course for theater, which she had been a member of for most of the time she had spent at this stupid school. But she surely liked it more than she let on. It was one of the only outlets the girl used to express herself. But this club was different. It was one of the things she was truly passionate about, something she loved doing. But in a way, she feared for its success.
The problem being, that there weren't many members yet. Maybe they'd get more in time, just maybe. But she could hear the echo of crinkling paper bags as she placed them down on one of the station's counters, sighing in discontent as one of the onions rolled off course and onto the floor. She could feel a tingling where her ears might have been located in her Kitsune form, and it usually happened whenever she was irritated. If she had ears there, they'd probably be twitching, she decided with another sigh.
She though about maybe not running club at all today. After all, she had been up late, hitting the books as it was. In fact she also had to deal with making her younger brother study as well, a foreign concept for him that she could tell he really, really didn't like. But then again, who really did like to study? Erin mulled this over as she washed her carrots, chopping them up and slicing some chicken at a separate station. A simple soup was all she was going to make, members showing up or not. It would at least somewhat quell her irritation.
The room smelled like soup in no time, but Erin knew it was still a ways away from being done. It was then she remembered that she had left something in her last class of the day, and she let an irritated sigh out through her nose, leaving the soup at a low simmer while she went to get it.
The bubbly soup went unnoticed by the girl who had slid into the culinary room, and the soup indeed was the only one to meet her apology for being late. Maybe...maybe this was why an adviser was suggested for the club. And maybe sometime, Erin would actually have one. It wasn't until Erin returned, did she smell the strange combination of soup mixing in with the smell of cake. And someone was singing. Oh, grand.
Well, at least she knew the voice. "Evangeline." She stated simply as she fully re-entered the room. "Didn't I tell you last time we weren't baking this week?" She mentioned as she wrinkled her nose a bit, her sensitive sense picking up the odd mix of smells in the air in such a way she could taste them in the back of her throat. Together. She swallowed a bit hard. "I mean it's fine, but didn't you notice the soup smell?" Well, maybe it was just Erin's sense of smell, but how could anyone not smell the oddity of these two scents mixing together. It was just strange to her.
"Anyway." She mentioned as she turned off the stove. "Since you're here, What have you got in the works?" she almost wanted to stop talking, as she could once again taste both smells at one time. At least she could tell it was cake.

I FEEL ALIVE WHEN I'M WITH YOU She about jumped ten feet in the air as she heard someone enter and then talk to her. Evangeline didn't realize she had dropped the bowl of frosting she was making on the table, making some of it fall out and get a bit on the counter. She yelped, but then calmed down once she realized it was Erin. She smiled at the girl fondly. She liked Erin and worked well with her, at least she thought, and enjoyed talking with her. However, Evangeline did what she usually did and forgot what she was to do today instead of what Erin laid out for them to make. "Uh, right, yes, sorry," Evangeline stuttered out, her soft voice calm, but a bit taken back by the sudden appearance of the girl. Evangeline looked towards the pot that she now realized was in there. She blinked once, twice, and then tapped her head twice. "Whoopsie! I guess I forgot again." Evangeline giggled, her hands still on the bowl in front of her. "I suppose I didn't notice the soup. I was so distracted by my own thoughts." She gave the girl a light giggle and a smile, setting the bowl in front of her so as to not over mix it. She learned early on in her life that baking and making confections was something to be proud of and she should perfect her art.
Evangeline was in love with everything mortal and human. She adored learning about human things and how they did everything. Being an angel, she could do things easily without much work to it. It was another reason why she wished to be with the humans so much and why her wings turned black. How hard they worked, how short their lifespans are, how they love and live; everything Evangeline could see of the human world, she wanted to learn about it. She took the cake out of the oven when the buzzer dinged, the three circle cake pans and put them in the fridge to help them cool off faster. She put them on cookie sheets so that they wouldn't scorch the fridge shelves. Closing the door to the fridge, Evangeline moved to put the plastic wrap over the frosting while she waited for the cake to get done cooling before she put it together. Evangeline's amber eyes flicked up to Erin's face when she heard the girl ask what she was making. "I thought today was a good day for a cake." Evangeline started off saying simply. Everyday was a good day for a cake to Evangeline. "It's a chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream frosting. I'm going to try and put a zebra print on it with some hot pink and lime green decorations." Evangeline smiled in that way that showed that she was going to do what she wanted anyway. Lightly, ever so slightly, she used her ability that helps those in the room feel better.
Though it wasn't really needed, she did this unconsciously. Lightly, her invisible black wings shuffled on her back with her good mood. "It's a run-through for when I make Larse a birthday cake. Though I don't think he'll like the zebra print and hot pink decorations like on the one I am making....does he even like cake?" Evangeline giggled, washing off her hands in the sink, looking over at Erin thoughtfully. "What would you want me to make? The cake has to cool before I can even think about decorating it. Oh! I could make veggie pizza! or, how about those little crab puffs? I never liked them, though when that one guy....wasn't he an Earl? Anyway, he had his cook make these crab puffs, they were horrid, but I ate them anyway because he looked so proud." At the end of her rambling she looked at Erin with a big smile, her amber eyes wide. "Buuuuut, I won't make you eat that. I'll just make bread to eat with the soup." Evangeline was off again, collecting clean bowls and utensils for making bread. She loved to cook. "How were your classes, Erin?"

Could you say goodbye to yesterday? Erin watched the clumsy woman before her carefully as she began hurrying around the kitchen to retrieve her cake layers from the oven. Crimson gaze was focused, and she was ready to at least try to react if something dropped. Though the smell of soup was finally being overpowered by the smell of the freshly removed cakes. And then, when they went into the fridge, the soup smell came back, but the two smells were no longer waging war within her nose. She looked at the counter, which was partially covered in frosting, and took a bit off the side of the bowl.
"It's too sweet Evangeline. Try adding some cream cheese to it." She stated. It wasn't that the frosting was bad, sometimes though Evangeline could get a bit overzealous with how much sugar she placed into it, and often at the shop they had to correct it. Though she was by no means any less of a baker. The shop would function just a little differently without her around. Her decorating skills were on par at the very least, among other things.
When she explained she was practicing making a cake for Larse's birthday, Erin leaned back on the counter. So this was what Evangeline had been doing while she was trying to perfect the Marzipan, which admittedly, she was having more trouble with when she'd like to think. "Well...you've got the chocolate right." She started, walking over to check the soup again. Still too hot.
"But let's try German Chocolate for the actual thing. It's got a lot more of a rich flavor without all the added sugar." Something which american humans seemed to over indulge in. She thought a little harder about it. "I think... Coconut pecan filling and frosting would be good as well. I've tried it on other cakes before and the taste is actually quite appealing." Larse also had a more refined taste palette as far as sweets went, Erin had noticed more often than not that he tended to avoid ingredients which were highly processed. They had a lot less of those, if any.
"We could always save some of the pecans and chocolate for decor, chocolate shavings on it might be nice." She mentioned, looking to Eva. "I'd like to hear your ideas as well. I'm quite busy trying to fix the Marzipan so I'm leaving the cake mostly up to you." When Eva mentioned making something for the soup, Erin shook her head. "It'll be fine as is. We won't have time to make bread."

I FEEL ALIVE WHEN I'M WITH YOU Evangeline was just about to get some bread made, before she heard Erin comment on her over-use of sugar. It wasn't her fault if everything sweet was just so tasty to the fallen angel. Heaven had sweet things, but earth's sugar was by far the sweetest thing she had ever tasted. She couldn't get enough. However, it often was a bad thing that her coworkers and even her boss had to correct her baking at times. "Ah, right, sorry, Erin." Evangeline giggled as she grabbed the cream cheese from the fridge, using her warm hands to warm it enough for her to mix it into the frosting well. Slowly she worked it into the frosting, mixing diligently as she hummed to herself quietly again. Hymns always brought the fallen angel peace; a piece of home without being home. She looked up when Erin started to talk about the cake that Eva had been doing a run-through making. She wanted it to be a big surprise and something Larse would like. Did Demons even eat cake? Evangeline wasn't sure. Larse was pretty much the only demon she had ever met that didn't want to eat her. While she had been a pure angel, she had walked the earth to help humanity like she was made to do, but often ran into demons who wished for the bones and blood of an angel. Now that she was a fallen angel, they tended to leave her alone now because of her tainted blood and wings. She wasn't tasty anymore; and to Eva, that was a good thing. "Alright, so we make a chocolate--german chocolate cake for Larse." Evangeline nodded to her as she went back to mixing the frosting.
"What makes it german, Erin? Do you have to make it with german ingredients? Do we even have german ingredients?" Evangeline had mused to herself and to Erin as the angel continued to babble on and listen at the same time. Evangeline liked to talk with Erin, though more often than not she had whatever sharp object she had in her hands taken away and a talk about how 'you don't go running with scissors'. The fallen angel was young at heart and soul, forever stuck in a child-like wonder with the world around her. She fell 126 years ago due to her worldly nature getting out of hand and her love of the human race; her heart was too big, it seemed, for even her to handle at times. "Sounds great, Erin, we can both work hard on the cake and make it big for him. We should get some candels." The last time someone let Evangeline have candles or even light them, it was a day several bushes burned down. To this day, Evangeline usually has to ask somebody to light something for her. However, she does good in the kitchen when put into her 'baking mode' mindset. Some might ask why Evangeline is so clumsy, and if she is so clumsy how does she still have a job...well...that's a mystery in and of itself, but she does get the job done. Evangeline was once a very graceful angel, able to dance and play with ease, however, after her fall, something broke within her and she has been off balance ever since. She doubts she will ever fully heal from her fall, both mentally and physically.
"The idea about using the pecans and chocolate shavings is a great idea. I could also drizzle some chocolate over it in a nice clean cut design to give it some more flavor and aesthetics. I could also use some chocolate fondant to make a figure or something that looks like him. OH! I've always wanted to make an edible man!!" Evangeline grinned at Erin as she pushed all of her bread baking thoughts and supplies away. It was cake making time and she was in full baker mode. "What do you think about making it three layers? what size should we make it? I'm thinking BIG." Evangeline smiled at Erin as she then went back to humming her hymns again, finishing mixing her frosting and setting it back on the counter again. She picked up the towel she had and wiped at her hands.
