WORD COUNT OPEN BY MINNIE OF GS AND IT'S DARK ON A COLD DECEMBER, Nenet had never liked sitting inside when the weather got warmer, even if only for a day. Being caged or feeling like she was trapped in one spot had never been her thing. She had stopped at the Cafe earlier, apparent by the iced slab ob cake that she held in her hands between a paper towel. She wasn't sure why it was she had always been attracted to times square.
The bustle of the city sometimes confused her, and even so early in the morning, people were still flying around the city, trying to be places on time, while the girl herself had nothing much of importance to do today. But she couldn't sleep, restless. This was the city that never slept, according to most people. But she almost wished she was nestled in bed back at the dorm. If the warm breeze that seeped through her window hadn't woken her, she probably would have been. But it had, and she hadn't been able to go back to sleep, having the need to move. She had actually left the dorm without her shoes, which she often forgot to put on when she was not reminded of it.
A shoeless girl in a white, tunic like dress. Surely in New York city that didn't raise much of a fuss, right? If you guessed that it didn't, you would have been right. She took another bite of the cake as she passed through a throng New York City had never really fit Nenet's nature. She liked to move slowly, but around here you got in trouble for that, and having a grumpy new yorker on your case wasn't something you wanted. It wasn't something Nenet wanted. She slowed to a stop to peer at the different buildings around her. What was she going to do in the peak of the morning? Maybe she would just go to the...fat burger place everyone liked so much. The one that put 'Mc' in front of everything. She wasn't going to eat the meat of course, but she knew that at this time of the day, they served those tasty yet greasy fried potato cake things she had seen all over the place as people walked in and out of the place. That sounded good right about now. - - i think i love you better now

If truth be told, he had no idea why he decided to take a walk through the city. Maybe since the sun was up, he decided to be up. It's not like he had to spend all day sleeping. Or well maybe his body already got used to having an alarm set every other morning so he just decided to get up and go about his day. Other than wondering just why he was wandering through such a big place, he was enjoying looking at some of the flashy advertisements. Humans had such fascinating displays to get a person's attention. But some of the people were... Well they weren't the most polite people out there. He'd even heard some of them mumble some curse words when walking past people or bumping into them. Rowan did his best to avoid bumping into someone; the people didn't look all that friendly. He watched as some people seemed to get into a heated argument about something, but he didn't quite catch what they were saying, but by the tones of their voices, it wasn't anything pleasant. Too bad either way he ended up bumping into someone. It wasn't anything rough, but a knock to the other person's shoulder still wasn't pleasant either way. Immediately his attention snapped back to his own surroundings and he blinked a bit in surprise at the ginger haired girl he had bumped into. Immediately his normally pleasant expression quickly flashed into one of sincere apology. Even if it wasn't anything too serious, he could not help but feel a tad apologetic. Well not a tad, he seemed pretty apologetic at the moment. And as soon as he began to speak, the words fell from his mouth in a wave of sincere yet probably unnecessary apology. "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to bump into you like that, I really should be paying attention, but I couldn't help but overhear someone and--" Rowan came to an abrupt halt. Didn't he know this girl from somewhere? She looked awfully familiar. ... Ah! They had class together at some point during the days of the week! Somehow at least knowing he knew the person made him feel all the more apologetic because he'd have to see her on a daily basis for the most part. Momentarily he directed his gaze elsewhere, to the ground to be exact. But what caught his eye was a little surprising. She was going barefoot in the middle of the city. He couldn't help but look up and ask the other with a hint of confusion. "Where are your feet gloves at?" Shoes. The word he was looking for was shoes. ☆ OOC NOTESNenet ManuMADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

WORD COUNT OPEN BY MINNIE OF GS AND IT'S DARK ON A COLD DECEMBER, She had certainly not been paying attention, so she was surprised when she knocked into someone. Sure, she knew how busy this city was, so she probably should not have been so surprised. But she was. "Wha--" She paused, pulling back and looking at the person she had bumped into, with more curiosity than anger. It was probably her fault anyway. Though looking down at her hands, she realized she had indeed dropped her cake. Bummer.
Even when he started explaining himself, orange-crimson eyes did not leave his face. Why was she so focused? She was sure she knew him from someplace, she just didn't know where it was from. Had they been somewhere together before. "It's...alright. I shoulda been paying Atten..." but her voice trailed off at certain points, eventually dissolving into silence as she noticed he seemed to be trying to figure her out as well. Why did he seem so familiar?
"My...what?" Hearing the word feet, she looked down at her own feet, which were indeed bare. "Oh! You mean those things that you're supposed to trap your feet in!" She figured it out almost cheerfully, grinning up at him. "I didn't want to put them on today. My feet feel so much better without them sometimes." Though admittedly she missed the ability to walk over broken glass when she was wearing them. It was as if there was a sudden jolt to her brain. "Ah wait! I know you!" Yes, he was in her math class, however math was supposed to be done. "You're...." It started with an R... "Rallllpp- no! Ronnie! Rufus? Rick!" No...No none of those were right. Wait... "Rowan! Your name is Rowan!" She suddenly clapped her hands over her mouth when she noticed her volume had gotten a little louder than she was supposed to have it. "Sorry!" She uncovered her mouth. "I think we have math together. I'm Nenet, the teacher's always yelling at me for staring out the window." It was just...there were so many more interesting things that weren't math out that window.

Really? He assumed that it wouldn't feel all that pleasant walking on concrete and the like without shoes on, and the worry of someone possibly stepping on their feet made the idea seem even less favorable. But hey, as long as she felt fine not wearing them, then he didn't have much to say in response to that. But at least she didn't seem too upset that he had bumped into her. At least it wouldn't end up like the two people he had been distracted by. However he did pause to give a confirming nod once she got his name right. Nenet, huh? He briefly remembered the teacher chiding her but... Obviously the other must have found something outside more interesting than what was going on with the class. Math itself was just a confusing thing for him. It was hard enough with numbers, but including letters and all sorts of other twists just threw him off. Rowan noticed the cake that had fallen on the ground. Oh, no, no, he didn't mean to do that! Sure, the other didn't seem to be too bothered by the fact she had dropped her treat, but still it was the fact that it was something she may have certainly been enjoying. And yet so, it was always common courtesy to ask about possibly replacing something that one had ruined or even destroyed. Even so if there was something else she wanted, he certainly wouldn't mind getting it for her. "I'm really sorry about that, Nenet, is there something I can get you to replace your cake?" Fortunately though his apologetic expression slowly came back to an easygoing smile. There was no sense in being wired up over it if his acquaintance wasn't going to be. And besides, there wasn't any need to be too formal or anything of that nature considering the two knew one another in passing. She did have a little trouble seeming to remember his name. Well some people have made it a note to give him a nickname. And before he knew it, he was speaking up once more, as if giving her some sort of option. He didn't understand the point of nicknames really, but if it helped her remember him a little easier, then perhaps it would be of use to give some options her way. "Well if it helps, my roommate calls me Benji since the middle name I was given is Benjamin, so if that helps, you can call me that!" ☆ OOC NOTESNenet ManuMADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

WORD COUNT BY MINNIE OF GS AND IT'S DARK ON A COLD DECEMBER, Nenet had barely noticed the cake after thinking about it initially. It was kind of one of those things that remained forgotten as she focused on the other person standing in front of her. She was still in a cheery mood despite being knocked into, but to be honest, that was just the way Nenet was. She wasn't really someone who got angry over simple things, and to her it was certainly a simple thing. But perhaps he had been nervous? If he was or not she couldn't really blame him. A lot of New Yorkers were...well New Yorkers. They didn't have a lot of tact or patience, especially when it came to people knocking into them on the street. She had found out several times, the hard way, that people weren't always as friendly as one would have liked them to be.
"Oh? Cake? What Cake?" Having totally forgotten about it, she turned and noticed that it lay on the ground. Again. "Oh! That cake. Well...I mean you don't gotta do anything about it, it was just cake." She pondered about it for a few moments longer. "....I mean unless you want to come with me to get some more." Noticing that sounded strangely forward, she cleared her throat. "I mean, unless you have somewhere to go." Truthfully, with Denny being busy today, along with most of her other friends, she had been wandering around here with no real inkling of what she felt like doing. Maybe it was time to try and make some new friends, and this guy seemed really nice.
"Benji huh? That sounds like something I'll remember for sure!" She bit her tongue, thinking about something for a moment. "You can call me Nani if you want, its what a lot of people call me too." She explained, giving him some small sort of bow. She never really understood why she did that. Maybe it had been an old habit of hers from long ago, she couldn't be sure. "So Benji, what do you say to some cake?" She asked cheerfully. - - i think i love you better now
