| It hadn't been long since Lotte had made her permanent home in NYC, in fact she was still getting used to the sights and the sounds of the place. There was always something going on here, unlike the places she had been before. Sometimes her heart ached for home, but there wasn't really a particular place to call home. Both of her parents had died when she was younger, so it was really just Lotte now. She had a good job here, and her store.. her store had been doing extremely well, even if it was mostly for the palm readings and the art sold slowly.
New York had been an entirely new start, but that also meant that Lotte would just have to make due with it. In the end, it also meant that she had to make new friends. That wasn't something that was exactly hard for lotte, seeing as the woman knew no strangers. Instead she had to come with a way to make her new neighbors talk! She hadn't heard a lick from them since she had moved into the wing other than the rather light skinned man that lived closest to her, Kazmir... she believed his name was. He was sweet guy, even if he looked a little intimidating with those red orbs, but she hadn't heard one thing from the other two. Both were teachers, since they were in the teaching wing, or at least faculty.
So this was where the woman had to decide what she was going to do. After a moment a thought quickly popped into her head, cookies! No one could possibly resist the bliss of cookies, so she would just have to make some and force them to open their doors and socialize! It was the perfect plan, and absolutely full proof, there was no way that anyone could get around it. So the woman set out on her baking spree making several different options for the lucky staff member to choose from. She made chocolate chip, oreo mixed, ginger cookies and sugar cookies. There was simply no way anyone could resist the smell of them! Even Lotte herself stole one of the oreo mixed in her mouth with a slight giggle and a hum.
With that set, the woman grabbed the basket that she had put the fresh cookies in and quickly exited her door, skipping the one closest to hers (kazzy's door) since she knew that he wasn't there right now. The next one she stopped at with a giggle before quickly knocking on the door. "Hello!~ Is anyone home? I have cookiessss~" she couldn't help but end the sound of the word with a little hum like tone. Oh she was going to be super happy to have some more people to talk to other than kazzie. | | | | | BY EDWARD OF GS |

| ● | ONE DAY WHEN THE LIGHT IS GLOWING, I'LL BE IN MY CASTLE GOLDEN. BUT UNTIL THE GATES ARE OPEN, I JUST WANT TO FEEL THIS MOMENT. |
For the most part, it wasn't too bad this year. He had been familiarized with just whom was in his dorm wing. Two other vampires and a... Well a human. So far, at least. That didn't sound safe at all. Were they sure this would be okay? But it wasn't too bad. It's not like they'd interact a whole lot, right? Being busy with grading things, then focusing on their personal lives and all that. As long as there was a door and a few locks separating them, that was more than enough for Silas. Focusing his mind elsewhere, the literature teacher grabbed a few of the papers he needed to finish reviewing and got into his fridge to get his food for the day. It seemed he'd have to restock then because this was his last container currently. Even though it had been over fifty years, the thought of swallowing blood made his stomach churn, but it was necessary. He shook the container around, letting the sanguine liquid slosh around. Finally after unscrewing the lid and closing his eyes, Silas threw his head back and downed the blood. After he was done with that, the literature teacher wiped away the corners of his mouth and thoroughly rinsed out the container, leaving it in the sink for now as he'd get to it later. Once he grabbed a pen from his counter top, Silas took a seat and began to look over the papers. They'd been analyzing Lolita which... Seemed a bit advanced for high school level students. But he wouldn't bother arguing with the curriculum. After jotting a few things down on the first page of his one student's paper, he heard a knock at his door and immediately jerked upward, drawing a line to the end of the paper by accident. Fortunately he wasn't writing anywhere too vital. But he composed himself and filed the papers into a neat pile and got up from his seat. He could smell the scent of freshly baked cookies. And when he heard the effeminate voice on the other side, he recoiled briefly before approaching the door, undoing the bottom lock at first but leaving the slide lock done up. So when he opened the door, it didn't open by a whole lot. And when he looked to see who it was, he didn't let his eyes linger on the brunette's face too long. In fact, he sort of glanced off to the side, nervousness practically rolling off him in waves. "Oh, you must be one of my neighbors. It's...," he paused, turning his head to take a sharp inhale. "A pleasure. I'm Silas Langdon, one of the world literature teachers..." Once he glanced down and saw the basket which practically overflowed with cookies, he fell silent. Well she was generous enough to prepare treats for whomever so it probably wouldn't hurt to give her at least a little more space to talk. Holding up a finger, he signaled the other to wait, then closed the door so he could undo the top lock. Then after the brief moment, he opened it once more and stepped off to the side. The least he could do was let her come in and have a seat. But still he wasn't too keen on making much eye contact. In fact even by his overall body language, it was obvious he was nervous about something. But what was there anything to be nervous of? It's not like she meant harm. That was probably the thing though. He didn't really trust himself a whole lot around those who weren't of his own kind. Still, he could just leave his door open to give his mind a little semblance. "Please, come in and have a seat." ☆ OOC NOTESLOTTE KARLOTTEMADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

| It didn't take the woman knocking long before after a moment or two a male answered the door. It was obvious that something was wrong simply from the way that the man had started to shake. Something like nervousness, she expected, but she wasn't anything to worry about! The woman put on the kindest smile she could as the man introduced himself to her which made her smile even more. "Its nice to meet you Mr. Langdon! My name is Lotte, I'm the art teacher." she said softly.
It was a moment before the man held up a finger telling her to wait before he closed the door and unlocked the bolt he had kept closed before opening his door for her. "A-Ah! thank you!" she said a little surprised that the man had invited her in. The woman giggled some keeping on the smile that made her lotte, as she entered thanks to his generous request. "So~ Have you always lived in New York, Mr. Langdon? I haven't been here very long so I'm not good with directions. " she laughed again taking a seat like he had offered her placing the cookies on the table near where his papers were.
The woman gasped some however, when she noticed. "Oh my gosh! I am so so so sorry! I didn't know I was interrupting your work!" she said looking back with such a sad expression on her face. "I can go if your really busy!" she said standing up again, the dress she wore ruffling back down her legs when she stood. "I-I can leave the cookies and you can just borrow the basket!" she said quickly bowing as her brown hair covered her face for a moment. "I'm really sorry!" she said again and would probably apologize yet again if the man wouldn't stop her. It was just who lotte was, she had been taught to treat people with kindness.
And she had lived every day with that thought. | | | | | BY EDWARD OF GS |

The silver haired man flashed a timid smile as she offered her thanks for letting her come in. He certainly made sure to leave the door open though, walking over to the table and gathering his papers after waving a dismissive hand. It was obvious by the way he was quick to collect them that he didn't mind one bit. After all, he had a guest and it would be in rude taste to focus on his work rather than try to hold a conversation. Besides, it would probably do him well to take a break and at least to get to know some more teachers. Silas took a seat from across the table, taking a glance at the basket of cookies, then to Lotte. There was no need for her to leave so suddenly. He kept a pleasant expression as he attempted to enunciate his thoughts in a clear and concise manner. "It's fine, really. No need to apologize. Feel free to stay as long as you like," he paused, letting out an exhale. "But to answer your question, I've been in New York all my life. I'm sure you'll learn how to navagate the city soon enough though." His tone was rather meek but it was safe to say everything he offered was genuine. Even so that didn't excuse the fact that he wasn't capable of keeping eye contact for more than a split second. But the mention of art did strike a chord in him. At least they had something to talk about. Sure, he wasn't much of an artist but a close friend of his was. He couldn't help but offer a little more of an elated smile as he reluctantly glanced back up at the brunette. Amazing how they already had something -- or someone rather -- in common. Ah, perhaps instead of sitting there, smiling like an excited child on Christmas morning, he could actually make mention of it. "Oh! If that's the case, you must know the other art teacher, Gwen Karenina. She's a good friend of mine. Hopefully she and the rest of the school are catering to you well?" Perhaps his tone seemed a little too excited for his liking. He couldn't help but dim his elated smile down to a bit more of a nervous one. Silas most certainly didn't wish to make her uncomfortable, but he couldn't help it. But he couldn't help but be curious. Since Lotte was new, he could only hope that the school suited her just well. There was still the matter of the cookies. Looking up, Silas flashed an expression almost as if non-verbally asking if he may take one. He didn't want to be rude. It would make for a horrible first impression, and he most certainly didn't want that. ☆ OOC NOTESLOTTE KARLOTTEMADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

| The woman looked back at the teacher when he seemed to pick up the papers almost instantly. For the longest time, Lotte had believed that she was the only one that put herself before everyone else.. but this man. The woman quickly tried to push down the rising emotions that came to her from the simple gesture the man had done for her. No one had really ever put her first, which was why she felt so assured by the man before her, that he would stop in the middle of his own thing to accommodate her when she had barged in on him. The woman couldn't help herself as the first of a few tears fell as she wiped them away.
"I'm sorry, just... give me a minute.. " she said quickly turning away to wipe away the tears that were lingering in her hues. "Thank you for letting me stay." she said softly fixing herself before once more joining the other where he had sat down. It was really nice to meet the others in the hall with her, but she hadn't expected to meet someone that was this kind. Even if the simplest of kindness meant everything to the art teacher that had just moved here. "Ah! I'm glad you think so, but if I get lost at least I know who to call to help me out!" she answered with a small giggle.
That was when the other male's appearance and personality seemed to do a one eighty. It surprised the woman, but at the same time it made her smile more to know that the other had someone he cared about. "Ah yes, I do believe I have met her. She's a wonderful woman.. and yes.. i'm very grateful for the job I've been given. I'm just happy that people have been so kind... it's.. been a while since I was treated with such kindness by others." she answered the other honestly. Even if he was trying to ease himself out of the excited expression he had worn a moment away.. Lotte was happy. Happy that she was able to see such a kind and honest smile come from the man across from her. At the notion he made from the cookies she blinked.
"Of course! I made them for you." the woman said with a giggle and began to explain the different types that she had prepared "If you'd like.. I bake once a week... if you have a favorite anything... I can make it and bring it. Maybe in exchange you can tell me a little bit about New york each time?" she asked softly. That way he wouldn't feel like it was just an unnecessary gift, this way they could feel like they were both giving something. "That is if you wouldn't mind me coming back." | | | | | BY EDWARD OF GS |
