Rin doesn't like engaging in conversation much, partially because he's rather shy, or because he thinks that the other person is shallow and not worth his time. He has only ever been exposed to the children in his orphanage, and thus his impression of humans and other beings in general are based upon his observations there. Mostly, once he gets to know someone, he'll realize how wrong he was and change his prior opinion of them, but until then any prospecting friends may have to put up with quite a lot.
He may not act like it at first, but this Phoenix can be extremely immature when he wants to be. Like, the stomping feet, whining and sulking kind of immature. However, he only acts that way in front of people that he's at least semi-close to; anyone else will be forced to experience the arrogant and rude brat that is his other persona, which...honestly isn't much of an improvement at all.
Innot so rare cases, he'll meet someone who goes against every single stereotype that he assumes them to be, and that'll capture his attention. It's probably the only time where Rin will actively and willingly participate in a conversation with said person, simply because he's been caught off guard. Depending on exactly how the person acted, that curiosity might eventually lead to mild admiration, and maybe even respect, provided the person doesn't do anything that goes against any of his morals.

FRIENDS It'll take a while, but Rin doesn't mind the company of pretty much anyone, after he gets to know them first. His moral code's a bit perculiar---he hates bullies, people who toy with other people, betrayal, as well as causing people pain (physical or otherwise) for no good reason. Killing, on the other hand, as long as it's done for a cause, he doesn't mind so much. Keep in mind that he isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, so if your character's the type who manipulates people, he isn't gonna to notice shit. He's not dumb, though, so outrageous lies are going to make him suspicious of you. Avoid those and you'll pretty much be classified under this section by him. Of course, friendship has to be mutual. As far as first impressions go, Rin can best be described as a git and a loner. He'll keep to himself unless it's project work or something, and even then he only bothers to converse when he absolutely has to. He can be kinda rude and a bit proud, but he's lonely, too, so he would welcome the company (in time) if your charrie decides to persist and bug him anyway. Even if you befriend him he's never going to be anything other than introverted, though he'll definitely talk with you a lot more. Your character will still have to put up with his personality. So if they can put up with all of that (or pretend to put up with all of that), they'll go under this column too. | ENEMIES He's not the most likable person on the planet, so anyone who can't stand him or offends him in anyway would probably go here. I'm too lazy to go much into detail, but if you don't belong under 'Friends' you're pretty much an enemy. Since he avoids and dislikes people in general, even acquiantences would go under this tab, but it'll be of a far milder level than, say, someone who killed his puppy. (He doesn't have a puppy, btw.) | LOVERS If he ever has any lovers, it's going to take a long time before they get to that status. He doesn't do love-hate relationships, so in most cases you'll have to be a friend first. Polyamory is something that he would rather avoid, but he'll put up with it if he's partner is into that. Honestly, if he likes his partner enough, he'll put up with pretty much anything you can think off. Rin doesn't like one-night stands, but if you get him drunk enough he'll do it. (Poor thing can't hold his liquor.) |
