Another promise , another seed Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed And all the green belts wrapped around our minds endless red tape to keep the truth confined They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious "Just a bit." he agreed, finding no point in arguing it. He knew well enough that his attitude was less than appealing to most and had heard the obvious fact enough times before that it hardly even fazed him. If you've got it, flaunt it. Of course Vincent was being rather tame right now, or as tame as a demon could possibly be. The cigarettes had helped along with the fact he was already a bit exhausted from his long day. Iriel really was fortunate to run into him tonight of all nights. His chances of surviving were improving though as the teen learned quick, Vince finding the silence from the lack of heels much better. Well. That was one annoyance out of the way, but he still had a kid holding onto him. He still wasn't entirely sold on that but said nothing of it. Yet, anyway. Instead his attention was brought elsewhere as the leech spoke again. "'Your' intimidation shield?" he questioned, chuckling at the thought. So Iriel really did think he was safer with him. He really was an idiot. Of course, the fact remained that Vincent wasn't really in the position to harm the kid, so perhaps he was actually a lot more intelligent than he'd been giving him credit for. Either way, he wasn't going to offer his services free and with that in mind he stopped, managing to free himself from the kid's grip as he finally turned to face him. "If you really want me to protect your pathetic little ass, you are going to have to pay up, kiddo." he stated flatly, leaving no real room for argument. He wasn't going to help him unless there was something to gain from it. A soul, perhaps? Well it was obvious he wasn't human, so he was a little reluctant to actually take that as payment, but he certainly wasn't going to be his shield for nothing. "Asshat's fine." he confirmed, clearly not giving any shits about what he was called. "And I'll call you Bitch Boy." he added with another one of his mischievous smirks. It was pretty fitting, if he did say so himself! Iriel Parker | he's going to just sit him in a box on a street corner with a sign that says "take this little shit" MADE BY VEL OF GS

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Iriel looked up at the demon, "Well, you are rather intimidating." The gave Vince credit for that. If anything the demon was absoultely frightening and the way he carried himself clearly meant he could probably break someone in half, if he felt like it. The bird had no doubt he was playing with fire and at any moment all of this could back fire and he would be reborn as a small infant. Again. Forced to relive his life as a teenager. Again.
Iriel didn't put to much of a fight of holding on to the older man. He merely released him and stood there with his heels in hand along with his bag. Curiously, he pressed his lips together while idly pushing against one snake bite with his tongue. Well, this was certainly a change in plans. It seemed the guy wanted money if he was going to walk him around. Ah, too bad Iriel was broke as hell now that he went outday with the little money he did have. Brushing his bangs out of his face he thought about his options carefully.
"I would prefer just to be called Bitchcakes, if you don't mind. Has a better ring to it." Now that the introductions where out of the way now came the small problem of payment. He could offer not to read him, dig into his mind, or pull out some random memory and hope for good blackmail. But the chances of that where slim. He had no control over what he would see.
"Well, Asshat." Iriel started thoughtfully with his soft voice. Taking a few steps in, he locked arms with Vince and forced him to start walking with him again. "You're dealing with a very poor student." He couldn't help but laugh at that. Iriel was either broke or had money. There was never an inbetween with him. His job paid well enough but he often used that to pay for his meals and other things he might need for class---including clothing. Sadly, most of his funds went into his tattoos.
"What are my options to keep my Intimidation shield?" He did hope he had some other options that wouldn't eat into his wallet. But he wasn't sure what else would be acceptable payment. The a new thought just came to mind out of nowehere. "You're not a hooker, are you?" He looked at the man with a doubtful expression of uncertainty. "Cause then I really couldn't afford your company."

Another promise , another seed Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed And all the green belts wrapped around our minds endless red tape to keep the truth confined They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious "Whatever you say, Bitchcakes." he rolled his eyes. He didn't seem to think it sounded as good, in fact it didn't exactly roll off the tongue as well, but he resigned to giving him the name he wanted. What a freak. Of course Iriel could be whatever the hell he wanted so long as he made it worth his time. Unfortunately it would seem he was barking up the wrong tree with this one, the kid apparently being broke. Well he wondered why, taking another glance at his attire. He tried not to think too much into the fact that he wore it pretty well. Not that he had the time as he was practically pulled along as Bitchcakes had dared another move at locking arms with him. It didn't take much effort to resist, the demon simply stopping again, steadfast like a mountain. The kid could pull and tug all he wanted but he wasn't going to budge. "Then I guess you are fucking out of luck." he explained. This wasn't no charity case and he certainly had no intentions of working for free, even if he did sort of bring this onto himself. But before he could attempt to leave, Iriel had spoke up again, trying to figure out an alternative. They were practically the magic words and caused the demon to linger just a bit longer to evaluate the situation. Though not before his occupation was questioned. "Bitch, I might be." he answered simply in monotone, keeping a straight face all the while. It wasn't like he hadn't resorted to it before. Hell, it had even been a contract agreement at one point, but he wasn't about to go into that. But before he could have the chance to perhaps deter the teen, he decided to be a bit more serious at the moment, asking a question that had been on his mind. "What are you exactly?" he questioned. Surely he'd know what he meant. Some races he just simply didn't fuck around with, and even with all his years he still had a hard time placing the teen's species. MADE BY VEL OF GS

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Iriel looked up at the demon, "Thank you." Of course, being called Bitchcakes was still being called a bitch in the ends. Not that it really matter. Iriel had been called far worse in his life time and now it was just amusing to him to be called such a thing. The bird sighed when the demon decided to root himself into the ground like a tree. Well, he certainly wasn't going to be moving now was he? The teen turned on his heels and released the other for a second time. Lowering his hands to rest in front of him he kept his eyes on his shield.
Well, that was flat rude but also the truth. He would be on his own very soon if Mr. Dark, Handsome, and totally a Shit head left him in the dark with god knows what around. That in itself made Iriel a bit nervous. Still, he needed to figure out something to give the other but once again he came up blank. Hell, he had even forgotten why he was walking with the demon until a moment ago. Damn his horrible memory.
"Really? Hmm, you don't look much like a hooker but what do I know?" Absoultely nothing! His parents really didn't teach him much about the darker side of humanity other then not to go prancing around as supernatural beast in front of others. Hell, his edcuation on the world probably didn't exist until he was enrolled in his current school. Let me tell ya, that was an eye opener for sure! But damn, if he had a lot of money and if he was a hooker he would pay for his company all right. Without a doubt. Man, that empty wallet hurt. When was payday again?
Blinking a few times, Iriel looked at him a bit confused. What was he? Iriel looked down at himself and shrugged lightly. What was the best way to put it? He grew black feathers and flew away? Could be reborn over and over like a broken record? Hmm, he settled for the more simple approach. "A bird. Well, guess you can call it a phoenix but I've been told I look like a giant crow from hell. Kinda rude really..." There was no harm and telling the other what race he was as neither of them where normal. "What are you?" The question was now turned towards Vince. Iriel was honestly curious on what this man could be but he knew for sure he wasn't human...maybe a vampire? They came out at night, right?

Another promise , another seed Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed And all the green belts wrapped around our minds endless red tape to keep the truth confined They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious He couldn't tell whether to be insulted or to take it as a compliment. He'd met a fine set of prostitutes in his day, but admittedly there were also a bunch who really shouldn't be in the business in his opinion. But if people were desperate enough, he supposed they'd work with whatever they could afford. At this rate, this kid didn't look like he could afford anything and Vincent was quite tempted to just leave him stranded in the dark. He'd managed to get a ways off course and no doubt would the teen end up trapped for a while in the expansive central park, but that was what he deserved for following a stranger! Still, he would offer him a chance, if only out of curiosity. What he'd discovered did catch him off guard, however. A Phoenix? He couldn't recall ever running into one of them before. He had heard of them, sure, but he couldn't ever say he'd met one face to face like he had now. First time for everything! But could he even claim a Phoenix's soul? They were creatures who simply went through rebirth anytime they met a grizzly fate, so it seemed rather unlikely and the demon certainly didn't want to waste his time with a dud, as tempting as it might have been to test out. When his species was questioned however, Vincent hesitated only for a moment before deciding to humor the teen. "A demon, of course." As if he could be anything else! "But I can see why you'd be confused with this fleshy disguise." he reasoned with distaste. He'd adjusted to the form over the years, but he did find himself a bit more comfortable in his true form. However he couldn't necessarily get away with such an appearance without grabbing some undesired attention. "I don't know what I can do with a bird though." he sighed, sounding rather exasperated. This kid was just a disappointment all around! "Your soul seems like it would be a useless trade." he'd admitted, finding himself at a loss for what he could gain with Bitchcakes. "So unless you can think of something that would be worth my time, I'll be heading off." he explained, starting to walk off again. BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Hmpf, well, this was surely a quick change of events. From the way he was being looked at it was clear that Asshat was a dat bit caught off guard. Curiously, Iriel poked at his thoughts to see where his mind might be headed but he got nothing from him other then some confusion and disappointment? Was he hoping that Iriel was some other creature rather then a firey bird of legend? Well, Phoenix's weren't all that exciting he guessed. His kind just flew around and ... well he wasn't sure what else they did. Each bird was very different from the next.
He really didn't have many skills either. Sure, he was a telepath and a psychometery. But that was about it. There really wasn't a single neat thing he could do and thus he pretty much was a disappointment. "Harsh." He said into the silence loud enough for the other hear. "Didn't think I was that bad." He muttered under his breath while scratching the back of his head. He probably shouldnt of poked in there but he couldn't help it, he was curious.
His attention perked at the mention of a demon. Ah, well, that made sense now. "Oh, for a moment I thought you might of been a vampire." He shrugged his shoulders and once again was at a loss. Yeah, no idea what he could do with a bird at all but he wasn't up for trading his soul for a simple escort home. That would be a complete and utter waste of a good soul that never actually died. Well, he could die but he wasn't about to voice that option to a demon.
Mentally, Iriel went through his list of talents. He could sing okay but it wasn't anything amazing. Dancing? Nah. He didn't know any cool facts or information to offer because he forgot everything half the time. He couldn't produce anything niffty and all he had in his wallet was a dollar bill. Well, he was kinda screwed now wasn't he? Well, he did have a few things he could offer but he rather not so he just offered the one thing that was quick and easy.
"I can give you a feather? Your pick." He wasn't sure if it would be worth anything as it wasn't a common color of what most pictured when they heard of a Phoenix. He was the complete and utter opposite which he didn't know if it was common or uncommon or even normal for that matter.

Another promise , another seed Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed And all the green belts wrapped around our minds endless red tape to keep the truth confined They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious Vincent offered a simple shrug in response, not seeming sorry for that either. He was a big bird? What did he want from him? A reward? Well he was once again out of luck there as while interesting in their own right, it wasn't that big of a deal to a demon. "Well at least you finally figured it out." he replied with a smirk. It had come to his attention that the bird actually might have read into his mind. As long as he didn't go poking into it any further though, Vincent wouldn't have to knock him senseless. The demon did look a bit disinterested at the vampire comment however. It wasn't a first, nor did he expect for the misconception to be the last. They were practically cut from the same cloth as far as humans were concerned, but unlike them, Vincent could go out in sunlight without bursting into flames. "Were you hoping to offer some blood?" he questioned with a snicker. He wasn't a slave to blood lust like the living dead, so that wouldn't have exactly worked either. "I'm afraid my fangs aren't equipped for sucking." he feigned disappointment. His teeth were better suited to biting and tearing as opposed to drinking blood, but he'd like to think he'd become a bit more civilized over the years. "A feather?" A brow raised in confusion, wondering if he'd heard right. What good would a feather do him? Well... Thinking about it, he was sure he could possibly sell it. Phoenix's were considered popular pets at one point, and while it wasn't the whole bird, he could possibly find himself a person who would be enthralled enough to spend cash on a dumb feather. Really, it was the best he could get in this situation and he really didn't want to walk away empty handed after being stuck with this pitiful excuse for a Phoenix for so long. He sighed at the thought. "Make with the feathers, Bitchcakes." he agreed, not looking particularly enthused about the trade but he'd take what he could get. "Payment first." he explained, waiting impatiently. He didn't have all night! MADE BY VEL OF GS

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Really, he couldn't figure out if he liked the demon or fucking hated him. It was somewhere in the middle as he really couldn't judge someone he just met. Surely, the guy couldn't be all that bad, right? "If I needed too but I wouldn't like too. I don't like to be sucked on like that...it's werid." Course, the Asshat wouldn't let him live that one down. How was he supposed to know what he was but he did seem very vampire like and in some ways he was glad the guy wasn't a vampire.
He really didn't feel like having holes in his body. It seemed he caught the demons interest somewhat. Iriel nodded softly, "Yeah, I can give you a feather. I'm sure its worth something." Or, it might be worth nothing at all who knew really. He never tried to cash in one of his own feathers plus plucking one just sounded painful.
The teen frowned at the older and much taller male. He wanted payment now? How was he to know the guy would just up and leave him. Then again, what would stop him from up and leaving him anyways with or without the feather. This caused Iriel to sigh and rub his right temple. "Fine, Asshat, just don't be too rough with me, okay?" There was a small bit of panick in his voice. He never had anyone pluck a feather out and the idea of it sounded less the great. It was too late to back down now though, god.
Taking a deep breath he settled himself down. It had been a bit since he actually reverted into his actual form and it took him a moment to get himself ready. Taking one less breath a circle of black flame appeared around his feet and swollowed him him. It was only their for a brief moment before the flames disappeared completely to leave a seven pound black phoenix with a six foot wing span, he was very simailar to that of a wedge tailed eagle. Not wasting anytime, the bird took flight and perched himself on the demon's shoulder where he could now see that those feathers where not just black. They had a purple tint, the feathers could even be considered exteremly soft.
Iriel dug his talons into the demons shirt to better secure his place on the male. Turning his beak to him he looked the demon straight in the eye with his red orbs. "Well, take any one that you like." The words did not come from the birds beak but from his mind, projecting his thoughts to Vince was rather simple in this form.
Ruffling his feathers, he fluffed out his wings and raised one foot and then the other to shift his weight about. Iriel was exteremly anxious about this and hoped it only felt like a hair pull and nothing more.

Another promise , another seed Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed And all the green belts wrapped around our minds endless red tape to keep the truth confined They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious Sucked on like that, eh? Obviously the demon's mind went elsewhere with those words, but he kept his lewd comments to himself, wanting to get this trade over with so he could move on. "I can't make any promises." he admitted with a shrug. He wasn't exactly the gentle type, but he'd make sure to try and not hurt the bird too much. "Hurry up before I change my mind." he insisted, crossing his arms over his chest as he watched. After what could have been considered an impressive display, the demon watched as black embers turned a teen to a bird, one of which that decided he could settle right in on his shoulder without invitation. "I don't believe I said you could use me as a perch." The demon snarled, but the anger was rather empty as he instead went about examining the Phoenix now that he was able to see one up close. He really didn't fit his image for a Phoenix and he could see why people thought he was some big crow. He chuckled at the thought, looking for the biggest and best looking feather to snatch. Red eyes landed on his tail feathers and he really needed no second invitation to pluck one out, being quick and painless. "Now that wasn't so bad, was it?" he asked, almost mockingly. Or at least that was the attempt, but he knew it wouldn't go without some form of pain thanks to his own personal experience. He quickly dropped that thought though and examined the large feather he held between his fingers. "Not too bad." he admitted, not seeming too concerned over the well-being of the kid. He'd be fine! Besides, a deal was a deal. He supposed he had to escort him home safely now. Iriel Parker | it's just like ripping off a band-aid! :D //shot MADE BY VEL OF GS

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Iriel shot the demon a look while ruffling his feathers again. If the boy had caught the lewd thought or not he wasn't letting it on. He merely averted his gaze to look somewhere else as if it was far more interesting then the demon he was currently perched on. "I had to go somewhere to be at your level. Thought it might be to much of a pain for you to get on your knees in front of me." Let Vince take that anyway he wanted too, Iriel didn't care. But there was a chance he meant it rather lewd in a mocking manner.
Right now though all he cared about was getting this over. His talons kneed into the clothing as a way to fight his anexity. Surely, this would be over quick, simple, and painless! But the damn demon was taking his sweet time and stressing the phoenix out. "Just pick one al---SWEET JESUS!" Vince went for a tail feather and he wasn't perpared for that. He figured he would grab one of the smaller feathers and not one of the fancy ones from his back end. Iriel's beak was held open in a slient cry of shock and pain. He found out that getting a feather pluck was just like allowing someone to wax his legs after letting the wax set far to long.
The pain came quickly and then disappeared just as quickly. Still, his back end burned just enough to be considered uncomfortable. Taking a few quick breaths he was back to being composed. Iriel jerked his head to stare right at Vince like he was insane. His head tilted all the way to the side and blinked. He wanted to tell the Asshat just how he felt about that though his words remained in his head rather then out in the open.
"Not too bad? My feathers are rather nice, thank you." He declared, feeling slightly insulted and injuried from the demons words. With a sigh that clearly stated -whatever- he turned his attention towards the ground. Mentally, the bird moaned and lowered his head in shame. You see, turning into this form was great but there was a small problem with it. Normally, when Iriel changed his clothing came with him but if he was nervous or anexious then sometimes his clothing didn't come with him.
Sadly, Iriel had gotten awfully anxious, nervous, and a bit freaked out tonight which meant his lovely dress, heels, unmentiobnables, and bag was on the ground in a small heep. Well, this was a it embrassing because that meant if he changed back he would be completely naked.
"Shit." The bird moaned gently for the predicment he was now in and looking around he wasn't sure if he wanted to change back and get dressed infront of this guy. Granted, there where trees and bushes but those bushes wheren't tall enough to hide everything.

Another promise , another seed Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed And all the green belts wrapped around our minds endless red tape to keep the truth confined They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious Yeah the bird certainly wasn't helping the things that came to mind, but really the demon hardly needed an excuse to think of things of the twisted and dirty nature. Let him read his mind all he wanted, he probably wouldn't be too fond of what he saw though. Perhaps that would teach him to keep his mind where it belonged. Unsurprisingly the plucking wasn't exactly pleasant for the poor bird. It ended as quickly as it happened though, something he'd realized when the talons in his shoulder loosened. Even on an avian's face, the look he'd given him after was quite familiar to the demon who'd only grinned devilishly in turn. "You were the one who'd suggested it." he reminded as he twirled the feather about. It really was more impressive than he'd give the kid credit for, though, being surprisingly soft and smooth with an odd warmth to it. Yeah, it should go for a few bucks. Would have been much more promising if the Phoenix was more colorful, but beggars can't be choosers. Now with that out of the way, Vincent pocketed the feather on the inside of his jacket for safe keeping before turning his attention back to the black bird who'd seemed rather troubled. He didn't seem to register what the hold up was and grew impatient rather quickly. "Well are you going to turn back or what?" he groaned. Not that he'd mind too much if he'd remained in this form, but he doubted he'd be able to explain the rather large bird if someone were to happen to see them. Vincent eventually appeared to grasp the concern, eyes resting on the clothing abandoned on the ground. Clothes usually weren't included in the transformation process, he knew that for a fact. "It's not like you've got nothing I haven't seen before." he chuckled. Probably. He'd seen plenty of things in his lifetime so he was sure there wasn't much else that would surprise him. BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Yes, yes, he was the one that suggested it but he really didn't think it through very well. He had thought it would be painless and like clipping a fignernail. Boy, had he been wrong. Well, what was done is done and eventually his tail father would grow back. He peered over towards his back end and flexed his tail out just enough to look at it. The bird remained silent while he pondered his options now.
Eventually, the Asshat was going to notice the clothing and probably make some kind of lewd joke or tease him about it. He could stay as a avain for the rest of the night. That wouldn't be too diffcult at all but he really liked his dress and the cute shirt he had bought today. He didn't want to leave them behind as he doubted his Intimidation sheild would pick them up. He sighed softly, there was also the trouble of being spotted. It would really be hard to explain why such a large avain would be sitting on someones shoulder.
Iriel groaned mentally and puffed out his feathers in embrassment. "No, but I'm out in public." Granted, it was night out and he didn't see anyone around. It was just him and the demon. He wasn't too grand at being naked outside. Now, if he was in his dorm then he had no trouble walking around in the nude when he was alone or with his roommate around or a friend. If he was comfortable around you then he just didn't give two shits.
He didn't know the demon and his options where rather slim. Finished with his inner struggle he flew down to his clothing, picked them up with his talons and went to the nearest bush for at least some cover. He didn't bother to tell the man not to look as he figured the Ass wouldn't listen to him. As soon as the bird disappeared behind the plant, the human form of the teenager came up.
He didn't even bother to glance over to see what the demon might be doing and he wasted no time in slipping on his clothing. If Vince decided to have a mini show then he would be graced by seeing that this little bird was covered in colorful tattoos on his back, shoulders, and well, just about everywhere. Not to mention that the kid had far too many body pericings. The show wouldn't last more then a few minutes and once dressed, Iriel came out with his hair brushed over one shoulder.
He didn't say a word but he did rub his tail bone. "Satisified?" He inquried though not making eye contact.

Another promise , another seed Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed And all the green belts wrapped around our minds endless red tape to keep the truth confined They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious Yes because being naked in public would be something entirely new, no one would be able to handle it! His argument fell flat though as the demon hardly look convinced. It was pitch black outside for fuck's sake. Unless there were other creatures around who could see in the dark, he would be perfectly fine. After some moments of thought, Vincent watched as the bird finally made a decision, rolling his eyes as he'd flown off to a bush for some privacy. He didn't say nothing against it, not wanting to hinder the teen further so he could get this over with. He did however watch him, not one to really mind his own business it seemed. Besides, you honestly didn't think the demon wouldn't check out the phoenix, did you? There was more to be seen under dress and feathers and he examined with faint interest as he looked over the variety of tattoos covering nearly every inch of his body. Well... every inch he could actually see anyway. And damn, look at all those piercings. This kid really was a freak show! He smirked at the thought, but the show would end soon enough as Bitchcakes finally finished clothing himself, emerging from the bushes and looking rather flustered. "More than you know." he offered with a mischievous smile. He noted how Iriel had not made eye contact, further proving that he was a tad embarrassed by the whole ordeal. The demon just found it amusing, especially with how confident he'd acted before. "But enough about that." he interjected, deciding now was the time to be serious. The kid had paid for his services. While the payment wasn't exactly his usual, he still felt obliged to hold up his end of the bargain which might have seemed odd for a demon. It was just the way he was and something the phoenix certainly should feel grateful for. "Where exactly are we heading?" he questioned, stepping closer to the now seemingly shy teen. BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Iriel had the urge to inquire about that statement but decided against it. It might be better if he didn't know to what extent the other was satsified. It could be numberous things from his feather, the teasing, or to that fact he was stark naked a few moments ago. Feeling plenty embarrassed he was more then happy to change the subject matter.
Having just remember he had his shoes in hand, he quickly shoved them into his bag and pointed to the direct of his school. "To the academy, you know that academy." He clearified knowing there was a lot of different schools in the area but there was only one for their kind that they could move about freely in. Hmm, speaking of which did that school have a curfew? If it did then he was sure as hell way past it though he couldn't remember if it did or not. The joys of having a shitty memory.
Taking a brief moment to compose himself he took a few steps forward and turned to look back at Vince to make sure he was coming along with him. Once he made sure the demon was keeping his end of the deal he contuined on in awkward silence. Well, maybe not awkward for Vince but for Iriel it sure as hell could be considered that.
Mentally, the boy poked around for something to say to the other but he got nothing. "Do you see my kind often?" Like it or not, Iriel was going to strike up some kind of conversation on the way back to the school. "You're the first demon I've actually talked too." Iriel was friendly at school but he didn't go out of his way to make friends. He just kinda went with whatever was tossed his way. "At least, I think so anyways that I can remember."

Another promise , another seed Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed And all the green belts wrapped around our minds endless red tape to keep the truth confined They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious Vincent looked towards the direction as he spoke, huffing in mild annoyance at the destination. He really should have known. It wasn't that the Academy was horrid or anything, in fact it might be useful for those who were stupid enough to need guidance. He personally never had a desire to attend or believed he had any reason to. He was doing perfectly fine on his own, after all, having learned how to adapt. He'd visited before though, for business purposes, and he couldn't exactly say he was impressed. How a school of 'monsters' was able to function without going at each other's throats was beyond him. It was actually kind of dull, really. As Iriel began to walk off, expecting the demon to follow, Vincent considered his options for only a second before dropping his cigarette butt onto the ground and smashing the remaining embers out with his heel, following the boy shortly after. It had gone quite after that, but it wasn't exactly something that bothered the demon unlike his feathered companion who piped up after so long, obviously not too fond of the silence himself. And he really must have been hurting for a conversation because the demon had no idea where the question had come from. "Not wearing a dress, no." He still wasn't going to let that down, even if the kid was asking what could have been a serious question. Well he actually hadn't seen one for a very long time. Ever since humans became more advanced and their kind became myths, phoenix' sort of disappeared. Not that they were ever too common to begin with. If he remembered correctly, they were rather evasive creatures. "And certainly not one that wasn't caged." It was also a thing they had to live with at one point, being considered pets at one time. In fact he wouldn't be surprised if they still were so this particular bird might actually be a lucky one. As far as being the first demon, Vincent had his doubts but really didn't argue too much. Actually, now that he thought about it he was probably right since any other demon might have actually killed the bird for their own entertainment (though the option was certainly still on the table). So the idea of him not meeting a demon before, at least in this life, wasn't too surprising. "I feel so special." he chuckled dryly, slipping his hands into his pockets as he walked. "I'm sure you've at least met one of my kind in passing." he added after some more thought. "We like to hide in plain sight, after all." Snakes in the grass, wolves in sheep's clothing. They could wear the most angelic face while stabbing you right in the back. MADE BY VEL OF GS
