my heart is cold, you can't leave
It was like hearing a child talk, that sort of young innocence from before one learned about the rest of the world and it's funny way of describing things. It was something Cobalt actually loved to see, it was something that too many lost too early and once it was gone there was no getting it back. He hoped she managed to keep her's for awhile still, surely if she ever lost it there would be no going back.
He stood there with a solemn smile on his face and a chuckle at the sight of Regginald explaining what he had said to her. What had started out a rather tentative encounter had proven to be one that made his shopping that day a little extra worthwhile. Well at least he was being left with the feeling he could leave things as they were and it wouldn't really be any issue. The trouble had been resolved and there were no hard feelings it seemed like. Or so he thought until little Amelia seemed almost heartbroken at the idea of him returning to his activities.
Cobalt was rather surprised by her reaching out to him again. He was actually quite surprised by how quickly she seemed to have gotten attached to him. It wasn't exactly the first time such things had occurred but it wasn't something he was particularly used to. "Oh no it's not that I don't want to talk anymore, I just thought it was about time I let you get back to what you were doing." Most might have been caught off guard by the glimpse of her wrist but this was not Cobalt's first time at the rodeo. As he finished his sentence he shot a glance at this Regginald that had been with her, quickly thinking that perhaps his initial assessment of the situation had been wrong. "I can stay a little bit longer though. I wasn't in any hurry." he was awful calm considering the situation and the thoughts going through his mind. Then again if this was what it looked like it could have been sudden movements on his part could easily make it worse. It was for this reason he was so calm, delicate situations called for a delicate touch.
He took hold of her hand with one hand and wiped at the stray tears with the other, making sure to keep her in arms reach should he need to act. As he wiped at her tears he spoke again, just as calmly as he had before. "Then why aren't you?" the question was most certainly directed at Regginald, whom he looked back at.
For a moment that gentle softness Amelia had caught in his eyes disappeared, replaced with a cold seriousness. Cobalt would not be playing games here, if he didn't like what he heard something was most definitely going to be done about it.
