He seriously couldn’t believe they couldn’t take a stupid joke. Honestly, the guys had found it rather funny but did the teacher? Of course not. Honestly, it’d been a rather innocent prank anyway but apparently he shouldn’t have used his abilities where humans could possibly see it and therefore what he’d done was “Irresponsible and very stupid” which the woman claimed he was anything but considering the grades he got. Seriously it had just been a silly shadow puppet, not anything too big and flashy that couldn’t be explained away. Now if he’d actually called his shadow hounds that be an entirely different story but was she taking that into consideration? Nope. Not even a little bit. So of course he and his little group had been given detention with the threat of limiting their outside activities. It was like being treated like a child all over again and it made his hackles bristle internally.
After that the day had gone a little smoother and he’d almost forgotten that he had to attend that stupid detention until another girl came running up to him telling him she’d been sent to collect him. It had been slightly mortifying to be collected like he didn’t know where he was going or he was some criminal in danger of attempting escape. He’d made sure the woman understood that while he may have pulled a stunt like that he understood how stupid it would be of him to skip a detention. Apparently she had just found his mortification amusing which he hadn’t appreciated even slightly finding nothing humorous in the situation.
The first few minutes went by boringly slow while the others in his group attempted to pass notes he decided with nothing better to do he decided to free his evening up by at least starting his homework. Apparently that had been enough to slightly redeem himself because by the time detention was over she’d asked him to stay behind. It had irked him a bit to think he was probably getting into trouble for something again but that wasn’t the case at all because suddenly she was singing him praises. Saying how great of a kid he was and that he did great in class but then she said the magic words. “I think you need a bit of guidance.” It was enough to make him scowl at her warily as he asked her what she meant and she merely gave him an amused look.
She explained to him what room he was supposed to as she jotted something down on a piece of paper before folding it and slipping it into an envelope. She’d looked up from her desk and offered the envelope over with nothing more than a “Ask for Larse and give him that.” Danya really hadn’t had much of a choice so with nothing more to do as she easily dismissed him with a flick of her wrist he’d landed himself here. Standing in front of the Student Council room, looking down at the envelope in his hands, he considered just walking away and forgetting this whole thing that happened over a stupid prank. However, before he could even try the door opened and a girl stood in front of him with a curious look.
Danya forced a sorry excuse for a smile on his lips and shrugged helplessly as he said, “I was sent to speak with a…Larse?” The last part was said with a pause, clearly unsure by the flicker of his eyes looking down the hallway like he wanted to escape.

The girl that had stood in front of him casually raised an eyebrow. Despite being in the usual uniform of the student body, she was very well put together. You could say almost assistant-like. At the request of meeting with Larse, she pushed up her glasses and spoke a curt ‘one moment please’. She hurriedly opened the door and then closed it. With the narrow windows going past the door, the student council room looked more business run than anything else of the school. Various students ran around with papers, some working on requests of other students and etc.
Before one could have enough time to get an ample moment to observe, the girl would return and nod. “He said he’s available. There is a table in the back that the student council members all sit at. Please take your seat.” She would open the door for him and once he would step inside, she would close it and walk by his side.
Larse was in sight when he would take steps past the room. Various desks lay around the sides, all accompanied by students that more volunteered to handle problems. Larse made it painstakingly clear that any assistants that helped were to be desirous for a good learning environment and rules that could be obeyed. At the very least, just keeping things in order. One member of the music club was currently engaging Larse with things about the instruments and space.
With a wave of his hand and a few words (albeit quite crass and to the point), Larse looked to the new occupant of his time. The girl nodded his way, turned, and left. Larse inhaled a bit of air, finding that the smell the albino male gave off was very familiar. He gave a low grunt of acknowledgment of this, but said nothing about it.
“Sit. You have something for me.” He ushered with an outstretched arm and an open palm to give it to him. “Hand it over.”

Danya took one look at the girl in front of him and immediately felt out of space, knowing he’d probably be bristling warily if he’d been able to. When she disappeared from his sight for that moment his sanguine gaze slid over to the door and looked at it longingly. It really shouldn’t hurt to just leave this with someone and get the heck out of dodge but the second he went to turn tail she was back stating this…Larse would see him. The young male hesitated for only a second before heaving a long-suffering sigh and slipping in, his eyes darting around warily as his nostrils flared taking in scents. There was one particular one that caught his attention and his eyes immediately honed in on the older male within, sitting down already and Danya paused. His eyes narrowing slightly as every hair on his body stood on end, nerve ends humming to attention. This male commanded attention and spoke of untold power that made Danya want to twitch at how similar yet different it was to the way it made him feel around his master.
When those blue eyes turned to him Danya had to remind himself he wasn’t a puppy anymore and he certainly didn’t have a tail or ears to show how intimidated he felt. He watched the male closely, muscles tensed as an instinctual habit that had been practically beaten into him until recently. He took another less than discreet sniff as a niggling in the back of his mind told him there was something else about this scent that originally brought his attention to the male in front of him. However, before he could really put his finger on what it was he was suddenly being ordered to sit and hand over the letter. He blinked, caught slightly off guard before he just barely stopped himself from baring his teeth at the male.
The albino colored male walked stiffly forward and placed the letter on one of the desks lying around near the blue eyed male—Larse, his name was Larse—and took a step back. However, it was a in its own way a very blatant disregard to his ordering tone. He didn’t like being told what to do. It was bad enough he had to obey his master, he’d keel over before he obeyed another and especially with such a tone. He had some dignity and he certainly wasn’t going to ‘sit and stay’ like a good doggie. He nodded his chin towards the letter, his eyes roaming the room again as he spoke up. “Mrs. Cappella, felt that I should deliver that…”
A small frown touched his face before it turned curious as he looked at the ma-Larse. As he looked over at Larse and spoke bluntly, “She didn’t say I had to stay. She just told me to give you that. I’m leaving…” He’d meant for the last part to be a firm statement that would leave no doubt but for some reason it came out almost questioningly.

Larse felt a tension in the air, sensing it by natural means. This boy was giving off vibes that he was fighting to keep himself from pouncing. The response to the sniffing allowed his own nostrils to flare slightly in a breath, however his was far more discreet and practiced than the pup before him. Testosterone, he could smell it. The hormone of aggression and sexual drive. He stiffly came to him and the letter was then placed on one of the other desks surrounding him. When he did so, his eyes followed his action, staring at the discarded letter for a second or two and then back to the young man.
He did not like disrespect, of any kind. The attitude around this place and the respect he has earned should be a bright flag of how he should be treated.
Larse slowly placed both of his elbows on the table and laced his fingers together while the white haired male spoke about delivering this letter. Then, leaving because she didn’t tell him to stay. Larse simply stared, burrowing his blue eyes into this boy like he was scolding him wordlessly and licking his body with flames spouting cooly from his eyes.
“Then you’re going to disappoint her, because you didn’t deliver it to me.” He started, firm in tone and in execution. “You delivered it to an empty desk and thus you can’t leave because apparently the simplest fucking instructions are too difficult for you to process or you just didn’t give a shit.” Larse slipped his hand from the other and opened it, fingers slightly bent.
“I would love to have that letter delivered, thanks. This time, do it right instead of blatantly disrespecting me in my own space.”

Danya really wasn’t pleased at all with this whole situation. Every muscle in his body screamed at him to turn tail and get the hell out and away from the creature in front of him. He might have been unfamiliar with other demons but he was close enough to his primal and baser instincts that he could feel the power radiating from the one in front of him. It made him shift the slightest bit as he felt those blue eyes drilling into him after placing the letter down on the table. His body so tensed it was almost painful as he fought not to look away from the male in front of him even though he really wanted to. His teeth gritted painfully as well as he fought to keep silent and his lips in a firm line to keep them from curling. He could practically feel the judgement in that blue fire called eyes and he despised it.
His eyes narrowed the slightest bit at the older male’s first sentence, not understanding…and then Larse continued speaking and Danya was conflicted. One part. The part that worked on instinct still and was showing plainly in the way he shrunk in on himself, baring teeth in displeasure as he dropped his gaze to the side, was well scolded and giving in to the man’s harsh words. While the other part of him that still continue to fight any sign of someone trying to control the way he acted was dying to tell the other that yes he didn’t give a fuck so he could shove it somewhere. However, that almost suffocating power reminded him just what he could possibly dealing with and so he didn’t do anything that could possibly anger the other demon anymore and risk ruining his chances at staying at the school. It was bad enough he’d gotten in trouble over manipulating his shadows the last thing he needed was getting suspended…or worse.
However, his eyes which his instincts told him he’d wisely averted shot towards the other male when there was movement, is body tensing once more. However, instead of a possible blow or thrown object Larse merely held out his hand and spoke once more. Blood colored eyes averted once more and a low displeased growl began deep in his chest before he cut it off with an agitated sigh and growled to himself, “This is fucking stupid.”
The young man snatched up the letter and took a single stride to stand in front of the other male, handing over the letter with a less than pleased look. He opened his mouth in one rash moment to let him know just what he thought about all of this but paused, blinking rapidly when a scent he’d come to know all too well flowed into his nose and his jaws shut with an audible click. Unthinkingly he plopped down in the seat in front of the male and all the tension that he’d been feeling vanished in the face of his endless childlike curiosity as he bluntly stated. “You smell like Royce…” His eyes narrowed in puzzlement and he snuffled a few times at the air, his head cocking to the side in a puppy-like manner that was true to his nature.
He did recognize this scent!
The younger male’s head jerked back a bit and his head tilted to the other side as he looked at Larse in mild surprise. “You’re the one I smell on Royce.” He gave the other a perturbed look because all though Royce had called this demon a close friend…why did they smell so much like the other?!
He made a small noise in the back of his throat and asked curiously, “How close are you two? I’ve never smelled two people’s scents so closely entwined except that one time when that couple wa-” He cut himself off and blinked again. All prior tension, anger and signs of disrespect further gone from his minds as he made a slight face as he looked at Larse warily because the couple had been mated…did that mean Royce was mated to this guy?

All the boy did was growl, low, frustrated, and beaten as if in a contest. He blinked, not tearing his eyes from the pup for a single moment. The right of dominance and respect in Hellhound culture was very straightforward. The moment you looked away you could be taken advantage of. Knowing this, Larse felt that this boy was probably the same as he was albeit much younger. You’d think they’d have a tight pack mentality like werewolves at a first meeting, but two male hellhounds meeting up was more who was the dominant and who would submit in the presence of the other. It could get pretty heated if one wasn’t careful, but Larse knew how to handle things efficiently and especially in an environment like this.
Watching him grab the letter and slap it on to his hand. He leaned forward, and Larse knew what would be coming and yet it didn’t happen. The boy just sniffed and looked like a deer in headlights. It confused him until he spoke a name that he knew very well. Royce? For once, that intensity broke just slightly, eyes widening a little and looking heavily bewildered. The boy cocked his head in true puppy fashion, as if calmed and now immensely curious of this new development.
Larse, being the older dog, merely frowned and then brought his arm up to sniff for himself. He caught Royce on him right away, and ‘tch’d’ about it afterwards. It was probably because he slept over last night from drinking together with him. That made a lot of sense. He woke up in his bed after all. “Is that so?” He asked, tone inquisitive and now a little curious himself. How did this pup know about Royce that wasn’t the norm like with students?
“You disrespect me and now you’re asking about my relationship with another person? You are so damn weird.” He scowled, not exactly willing to speak about their relationship right now when he has to open this envelop and read the message inside. “I do deserve to know your relationship with him however. How do you know him past his assistant headmaster job? Speak up.” Larse opened the envelope neatly, taking out the letter and reading it.
“…hm.”

Danya would willingly admit that he was pretty weird, his moods swinging so fast and so far between each other that most of his ‘friends’ were rarely able to keep up with them. He would readily admit that the conditions he’d grown up in had made it so that his personality was a little wild and untamed. However, he’d learned to adapt and deal with it since coming to Hisso. It helped that a few people like Royce in fact was helping him and being patient with him compared to others. No one really knew what exactly he story was although he figured the Headmaster and Royce might know about the fact that his benefactor was a Vampire. After all Ilarion was the vamps last name and he’d made it so that Danya could come here.
But he digressed…
The fact was this was Royce’s demon and the heavy sandal wood scent he’d come to associate with the Fallen Angel was heavy on him. It brought a load of questions to his mind trying to be answered but also trying not to make assumptions. However, it was damn hard when the only times a scent was that entwined was when two people stayed in very close proximity to each other…right? This was all very interesting yet frustrating to the snow haired young man but he was sufficiently distracted when Larse moved once more.
A small smile made the younger male’s lip twitch as he watched Larse lift his arm up to take a whiff and made a sound after finding the proof that he did in fact smell like the Assistant Headmaster. It was rather amusing to the pup to see a reaction like that from someone he recognized by scent to be around Royce a lot. Realizing this he also realize why he’d never run across the demon before, he generally tended to keep far away from the Student Council because Nenet was here. For a moment his thoughts wandered to whether or not he could surprise the little chicken head before being brought back to the present when Larse spoke up. He blinked at being called weird outright but in true Danya fashion he let out a bark of laughter, eyes crinkling in mirth before it calmed into an abashed look. If this was that demon then he kind of fucked up a bit. He scratched his cheek nervously and murmured rightly contrite, “Erm…sorry ‘bout...before. I have a few anger issues that still need dealing with.”
Understatement of the century!
However, while he’d had a few anger issues as a pup that made him live up to his namesake, over the years of captivity it’d simply gotten worse and worse. So he’d learned to spot when it was best to apologize for an unrequired burst of aggression, especially when this whole thing was his own fault. Besides he was curious about the demon in front of him…and he’d totally be talking to Royce about this scent nonsense later because really if they were just friends, going around smelling so deeply of the other was bound to make someone open their fat mouth.
This time when the older hound asked him his questions and told him to ‘speak up’ instead of being met with tension and aggression. Danya offered up a cheeky grin and wriggled closer, resting his chin on the desk while his hands supported him on the seat of the chair as he looked up at Larse. He let out a little thoughtful sound and had to sort through all the ways he’d usually categorize the angel in private before choosing the simplest answer. “Actually I’d kind of gotten in trouble for playing hooky and they sent me to him…I’m pretty much a lost cause with most of the teachers.” He shrugged his shoulders a little uncaringly before glancing away as a dusting of pink touched his pale cheeks at his next words. “He puts up with me and kind of helps me out when I’ve got nothing else.” Royce was nice to him and patient…although sometimes he acted like an overbearing parent especially when it had to do with homework.
His ruby gaze fell back to Larse when he made a sound after opening the letter and he perked up, wriggling closer and lifting his head in curiosity. That teacher was one of the ones who actually dealt with his shit and regularly scolded him when she felt like he was being childish. He liked her enough…sometimes when she wasn’t also being an overbearing mother hen and clucking at him about being able to do better. “What? What she say?”

The whole attitude and feel of the boy had changed drastically, even further than before. Instead of acting pissed or offended, he laughed instead. The sound wasn’t offensive to Larse’s ears, but it was still so strange to witness and hear himself from just moments ago. Just a few minutes prior, he looked like he wanted to rip his throat. That’s it. He was convinced. This kid was on drugs of some kind. The influences these kids had access to these days was jarring in number. That had to be a rightful explanation besides Royce influencing moods and feelings if you’re close to him. Knowing this, he heaved a sigh at his explanation.
It wasn’t more at what he said, but more on Royce keeping something he’d like to know if brought up. I’m going to kick his ass for this.
He waved it off however with his hand, paying it little mind. “Nothing I can’t handle.” Not like he hadn’t thrown a punch or insulted him verbally. To be honest, this was one of the nicer and more tolerable potential scuffles he’s been in actually. If only all of them started and ended this way. Wiggling over to him like an excitable puppy wanting a treat, Danya told him more reasons of his visit.
He had played hooky and that he was the typical delinquent. There was some similarities of the two for Larse also used to be proud and anger prone back when he was younger. Royce also took care of him and it seemed they developed a close bond. That sounded a lot like him. Larse’s previous thoughts of beating the shit out of him for this was calmed. He was doing a good thing here and he couldn’t stay bothered.
With the letter finally being opened by his own hands and perusing the written contents. The letter went on to say that Larse should be able to straighten the boy out. What he had done with Student Council members and the other efforts that he’s made therein have not gone unnoticed. If anyone can help the youth, it would be him.
“She wants me to take you under my wing. Hopefully rein you in and keep you grounded. Normal fare.” Larse folded the letter back up and looked to him seriously. “I will accept this.”
“First question, what grades do you usually get for your classes?”

At the dismissal of his apology by the other male Danya quirked an eyebrow and gave him an amused look but simply made himself more comfortable. After as his wriggling and explaining he finally settled fairly close to the other considering his head was practically using the others desk as a perch, sanguine eyes looking up at him. This close with his nose still working more discreetly than before he began categorizing his scent more thoroughly then the traces of sulfur that weren’t as interesting. There was the smell of spices, the smoky scent of a campfire and electrifying scent of power that made his nose crinkle for a split second. He’d always worked more off scent and instinct when meeting someone new but that little niggling sensation was still pestering him in the back of his mind at that combination.
However, once more before he could even ponder it more thoroughly Larse had made a little noise and Danya voiced his curiosity. His head instantly perking up and wanting to see the letter even though from how the other held it he couldn’t actually see what was written on it. At the older hound’s answer though Danya pulled away a bit and gave the other male an uncertain look although there was no hostility there just hidden distrust. There were very few people Danya trusted not to drop him at the first sign of trouble or disinterest and those people he could count on two fingers. “I don’t know…Your busy…I’m sure you have better things to do then waste your time with me.”
The albino colored male winced at the way that sounded even though it had been coming from an honest part of him. To play it off he leaned back and folded his arms behind his head, balancing the chair he sat in on the two back legs as he chirped, “Besides I’m not that bad of a student.”
As though to question that the other male asked about his grades and Danya shrugged nonchalantly. “Honestly it kind of depends on the class. Mostly B plus with a few D’s or A’s.” Danya was a smart kid when he applied himself or liked the class like Literature but when it came to other classes well…That was a different matter entirely in all honesty. He was hard working and did his work and yeah Royce had to sit him down to have him get his homework done but he always did well. He just wanted to enjoy his time free from his master’s grasp a little more than being locked up in a school doing work. Even his job as a bouncer for Midnight was more interesting than this but it was more therapeutic than anything so that was beside the point.

Larse blinked at what he had said about how his schedule probably is and that he shouldn’t waste his time with someone like him. His blue eyes narrowed, slightly taken back by this but waving it off with a hand after firmly holding it up so he would keep quiet and let him speak. “From what I’ve come to understand…” He began to speak, lacing his fingers again due to the fact he wasn’t holding anything in them anymore. “…my job as student council president is to keep things orderly for the students, but also to accept and keep the fundamental law that students can do anything they put their mind to as well as deserve attention for their needs.” He leaned forward a little, keeping his eyes trained upon the youngster in front of him.
“Clubs, counseling, whatever students around here need is possible. Same for whatever shit I need to look for a better tomorrow.” Larse looked elsewhere, briefly, as if wondering about a certain something In particular to this subject. “That usually means vodka, which I do not recommend.” A clearing of his throat, and he paused to gather his words before speaking again.
“I’m a shitty speaker, so bear with me, but you’re going to have to trust that me and Royce trust each other. By that, I mean, if he sees something good in you, then I accept that. I accept it and I will investigate myself.” The finalization, that taking a risk clearly from just hearing of Royce’s name and the trust involved was enough. It was glaringly obvious of the relationship, and choices like these were not usually made by Larse himself.
With the admission of having decent grades, Larse concluded that this kid needed more of an emotional support than academic. “I want to side along with Royce on this. You’re not shit, especially if he sees something.”

Danya watched Larse warily, leaning back a bit as he watched the older male lift his hand to silence him and he did become quiet upon the action. He blinked ruby colored eyes at the older male as he spoke a little surprised at the firmness behind the words and the utter conviction in them. He wasn’t used to people putting in so much effort—or rather positive effort—into him even if it was obligation. When Larse leaned forward, staring at him intensely, Danya shifted uncomfortably and dropped his gaze to the side for different reasons than before. This kind of talk made him uncomfortable and withdrawn, usually he’d laugh it off and ignore it but this was probably someone he’d see more of because of Royce and he wasn’t willing to give up the blonde angel just because of this other hound.
However, he wasn’t willing to open up to this male in front of him either no matter what pretty words he spotted or not. People always said things like this but very few had shown him that they actually meant it and he wasn’t interested in being disappointed again unless he was shown some proof. So with Larse’s little speech coming to an end and saying he’d accept the task he gathered up the usual façade he used and grinned. “So it’s kind of like a favor or obligation to you?” He was purposefully misunderstanding, pushing and prodding to hide the discomfort he’d felt. He’d allowed himself to lapse upon finding out this was the demon Royce had mentioned before but now his guards were up again.
He didn’t care if Larse did trust Royce. He didn’t trust him and seeing as they’d be working with each other and not with Royce, Danya didn’t see a reason to let all his walls down. He’d be have and treat Larse with the respect earned as both dominant and Royce’s best friend possibly mate?? but that was it.
The albino pup was just about to make another comment when Larse threw another proverbial monkey wrench in his plans. He froze for a moment, staring wide eyed at the older male in shock. For a fraction of a second he gritted his teeth almost painfully before he was grinning at Larse once more and letting out a laugh that sounded just a bit off key because no. There was no way someone could possibly…
“Oh man, I don’t know what would make you say something like that but duh. I know I’m not shit, I’m freaking awesome.” Unthinkingly he slipped into the persona he’d built up around himself since entering Hossi. The ever cheerful, slightly arrogant and troublesome kid who didn’t have a worry in the world. No one looked too closely at whether or not your smiles were a little too bright or your laugh was a little too forced if they thought you were happy. He didn’t know why the hell Larse would say something like that but it made him immediately shrink away from the older one, eyes flickering everywhere and only occasionally meeting his eyes.

There was an uneasiness to Danya, that grin didn’t look the same as the others. Though he was no mind reader, Larse felt that there was some kind of block going on. Mental perhaps? His nose scrunched up just a bit, showing some form of wrinkle at his brow. The shock to his face, so deep, as if his words had the weight of his body and shattered glass had astonished him. Larse did not show his surprise at such a reaction and recovery for such an expression.
Heaving another sigh from his mouth, Larse stared while he spoke. Trying to play it off? It didn’t sit right with him. “We have…” He paused, grabbing a piece of paper and beginning to write on it. “…a lot to work on.” He wrote down something, and quietly slid the paper to the youth in front of him.
“My room number. We’re starting as soon as possible. Go to it after your classes are finished for the day.” Larse pulled back then, resting himself on the chair comfortably. “And no it’s not an obligation. Royce just made my choice easier, that’s all.”
“Now, if that’s all, I’ll see you tomorrow at 5 p.m. Don’t be late.”

For a split second Danya gave the older hound an amused expression as he heaved another sigh which he’d been doing a lot during their conversation. He opened his mouth to ask him if he knew that humans thought the more you sighed the more your happiness escaped. Maybe the other male should give it a try and not sigh so much but the words never left his lips as the male spoke up as he wrote on a piece of paper. He gave the male a confused look, not entirely sure what Larse meant by that and feeling just slightly wary about it. His head tilting to the side in curiosity as he glanced at the paper slid over to him before the brunette spoke up again and he huffed softly. His room? Was that even safe? He didn’t know if he should…he might have been directed towards him but he was still another demon. He let out a thoughtful noise and chirped up with a little too much enthusiasm, “Sure, I guess I got nothing better to do after class anyway.” Lie. That was such a lie but until he decided whether he was actually going to go or not he’d let the guy think he’d actually go. However, his blood red eyes locked on Larse again when he leaned back in his seat and spoke once again about it not being obligation. Danya cleared his throat uncomfortably mumbling a soft ‘right’ and standing up slightly stiffly. Saluting the older male he grinned playfully, “See you then, boss.” Without another door he was out the door and escaping the student council place without even a thought of torturing Nenet. His eyes briefly landing on a trashcan and he paused by it, looking at the paper still clutch in his hand as for a moment he considered simply throwing it away before growling and stuffing it in his pocket. He’d go talk to Royce and see what the other said…then he’d make his decision. END @rhyme | >.< SORRY THIS TOOK SO LONG ✿
