▼
i am a THIRTY-EIGHT year old FEMALE HUMAN. i am currently a HUNTER. i am BISEXUAL. a lot of people tend to call me FURIE.
PERSONAL
▼
[ABILITIES]
• clairvoyance: the ability to gaze or observe events psychically however the talent itself is difficult to understand as it does not always predict the future and can also reflect the past or something in the present.
[PERSONALITY]
Nekane is a person of good demeanor. She's nice and friendly, having an appropriate amount of both polite and relaxed. She tends to look at the person, see how they're acting, and try to meet them halfway. She's open minded towards people's attitudes, knowing that even the sociopaths have needs that must be met. She's affable and nice for the most part, as she often works with victims and just generally tries her best to be warm and friendly. She likes it when people trust her, and tell her their secrets, because she likes being a friend to everyone. Even when some guy hits on her and she doesn't really want it, she'll just gently let them down. And then proceed to encourage them to find what it is that will make them happy.
In a way, this makes her self-sacrificial as she often has to hold back her tongue or certain habits when dealer with strangers or in general public. But anyone that meets Nekane when she's not holding herself back will get a surprise. She's sarcastic and sometimes downright hateful of things, often mocking and trying to point barbs at people. She doesn't take any shit and seems to dislike people that waste her time. She's rough and she's so stubborn that she will argue the point even if she's wrong. She's also easily ruffled and gets angry very fast. Also to note is that she's somewhat sneaky as she likes to take vengeance, so slight her at your own peril.
In general, Nekane seems to prefer her distance from people, either using a gentle mask but never going further, or a harsh mask and pushing people away. She can often be found drinking or at bars, and in general seems to not have moved on from the events all of those years ago. She's surprisingly bitter and hopeful all at once, and her single minded task of finding the supernatural beings that ended her happiness one person at a time is what keeps her together. She seems to be holding on just a little off kilter and probably needs a lot of time recovering. She developed a guilt and anger complex when her family is mentioned, and often cannot be honest with herself or strangers.
She's just got some problems here and there, hiding underneath her pretends.

The looks
▼
[APPEARANCE]
Nekane is a woman of decent looks. She has soft brown hair that may seem a bit more pale then normal. Something she got from her mother. What's the most distinctive feature is her heterochromatic eyes. Sometimes it's very subtle but other times it's startlingly different. That is because one eye is blue and the other is green. Sometimes, the light makes them seem a bit closer and it works. She seems to not be the model thin that a lot of girls crave, but has a decent amount of weight. She just knows what clothes to wear to make it seem a bit different. She stands at a height of like five foot and five inches. She may seem small but she's surprisingly agile and strong. That's because she works out.
Her hair reaching only to her shoulders, she doesn't often see the need to tie it. Her skin is white and not tanned, but is also pretty usual. Her slender shoulders and curvy hips have been quite the discussion amongst men, including her other assets. What's interesting to note is that she has a cute small mole under her left eye. In general, she seems to be proper and having herself together. Her clothing taste varies, but she prefers the less accessories and make up on her, the more efficient it is. After all, it's hard to carry around a lot of things right? She always seems decent for the area she's in, trying to blend in as best as she can most times.

THE PAST

[HISTORY]
A history met in blood and sadness.
Nekane was born to parents that wandered the world. They didn't even consider stopping because of a child - and rather to send her off living with others, they brought her with. Her early memories are filled with different hotel rooms, traveling above the waters or on trains. Whatever it was, she moved with them, smiling and laughing. And gently, they taught her. The language of their people, of the Basque. They taught her french and spanish, letting her learn the languages by listening. They wanted her to learn things, to look at the world with her own eyes. Despite the fact she was born with heterochromia, a trait that her mother shared with her daughter, they wanted her to feel normal.
So she learned and laughed and smiled. She met so many people, and they sent letters to the address she gave them - her aunt's place. She replied since they checked in often, and she would send postcards. But still, that lacked a personal touch. She didn't mind, because they all seemed so awed to hear about her adventures and few got past the third letter stage. Kids often changed their minds. Perhaps it was all of the traveling, but Nekane had gained a sense of maturity for her age. She didn't mind, as she liked being with her parents. It was something she saw that a lot of other kids didn't have. After all, there were many broken families, or families that were just plain unhappy.
She was spared such a thing, until her twelth birthday. In a flash, she saw something disturbing and went to her mother. She was crying because she saw a dark haired man, being beaten by a woman until there was blood everywhere. The woman dumped his body in an alley and left, before the ashes came together and in the man's place, was a baby. She didn't quite understand this, and her parents consoled her. They told her to write it down and she did. They also told her that if she had anymore, to write it and then tell them immediately. She had a few more over the months that followed, and eventually her parents seemed to get very, very worried.
Finally finding a solution, they told her after they returned from their day trip that they would tell her something. She sat, and she waited - for three days. By the end of the third, the police and hotel staff came to the room, expecting it to be empty. They found her, a girl of now thirteen years of age, asleep on the couch. Worried they sent her to the hospital to be checked. She was fine of course, but the news afterwards made it hard. She was sent to live with her aunt in the Americas. Her father had been found, his body mutilated horribly. It was as if he had been mauled by an animal. Her mother was missing, and they found no trace of her.
Just before she left, her body turned up, drained dry of blood. The police was baffled, but one policeman gave the child a card and told her 'to come to him when she was ready.' The girl was shipped off to America and ended up settling with her aunt in Ohio. Her life had been drastically changed, and she felt empty. She spent the rest of her high school in a haze. Her grades were so-so and the kids gave her pitying looks at times, but otherwise left her be. She was so wrapped up in her private grief, she didn't notice the warning signs before it was too late. She had been writing her dreams down and one dream had been a shape fleeing from her aunt's home.
One day, she came home and found her aunt's body. Simply left there, but her chest torn open. This jolted the girl out of her dream like trance. It was the night of her graduation, and she called the police. The investigation wielded nothing, and she got everything - from her parent's and her aunt's will as the woman lived alone and had no kids. Feeling unsettled, she decided to call the card of the policeman long ago. That was the first step she took. He came to meet her and told her everything - the supernatural beings and how the ones that had killed her parents and her aunt were monsters. And how her power could help them immensely.
She has not once doubted his words, despite him knowing of her power when she had told no one.
From then on, she took a cover. She worked jobs, attended college, but by night, trained to be a Hunter. Learning how to dispatch creatures how to kill them. Eventually, she fell in love with the man. She was twenty-one when she fell pregnant. She had finished her two year nursing course at the college, and was decently into her online course for forensic nursing. She gave birth, and came to find the man that she had married as a girl, to provide a cover for why she was always off with him. Only to find him in turn, dead. Another supernatural creature took someone precious in her life, as the far too young girl cried.
Married, widowed and with a child, all by the age of twenty-two. Was it a wonder when, a dark haired man squirmed into her life, that she forgot? She went off on a date with him - and when she came back, her child was missing. She was heartbroken over it, and drew comfort from him. At least, until he began to reveal to her he was supernatural. In her mind's eye, she saw with a flash the clues he had left behind - and her grief at losing her husband, the rage at losing her child and finally her hatred towards supernatural beings tore her sanity to snap. She beat him viciously until he was dead and dumped his body.
She cleaned the blood and she felt like her life was not served becoming a nurse. She became a full time hunter, giving up house and home to find creatures and kill them. The association gave her a codename - Furie - because she resembled the mythological being of vengeance. She searched high and low for traces of her child, but found nothing. She killed whatever creature she came across, until she finally settled in New York city. Picking up a job there, she simply waited, and waited. And slowly, she saw weird signs - beings coming into the city. Some were... not as subtle as most. But something was up and Nekane was going to get to the bottom of it.
Even now, she still grieved the loss of her child and husband, and the betrayal one man that she could have loved.
