Another promise , another seed Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed And all the green belts wrapped around our minds endless red tape to keep the truth confined They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious Downtown. It was kind of ironic how the one place law enforcers often referenced to was actually a terrible place to be at night. Which explains why the demon had no qualms about wandering around the mostly empty streets at such a godforsaken hour. This was practically home to him with such vile creatures roaming about, and surprisingly most weren't even of the supernatural nature! Mankind had evolved alright, making up for the 'lack' of demons and turning into evil beings themselves. It was always a part of them though, Vincent was well aware of that, they'd only gotten worse which is something the demon found quite amusing. Angels fought his kind for centuries trying to protect these useless pawns and look at where they'd gone now! He almost felt proud, if only because this fact was a real jab at his natural enemies. Adding insult to injury, there was one now Vincent noticed, spotting a group of shady looking men following someone at a distance. They were trying to be subtle about it, wait for the opportunity to strike on their unsuspecting prey, but it was apparently obvious enough for the beast to notice, watching on with mild interest. Well this could end horribly or... well horribly, depending on who got the short end of the stick. With nothing better to do, the demon decided to follow, if only to see if it would turn out as entertaining as he'd like to imagine. He was much more subtle about his trailing after them, using the shadows to hide him from plain sight. As he continued to examine, he noticed the thugs began to spread out, gradually attempting to surround their victim and lead them into a more secluded alley. How cliche! But he couldn't expect a bunch of humans to be creative, he supposed. @open | what is worse? being followed by a group of thugs or being followed by vincent? MADE BY VEL OF GS

{ } Funny how quickly the hunter could easily become the hunted in this miserable world. She knew they were behind her, stalking her every move like a pack of dogs following after a stray cat. Luckily, their tactics were painfully obvious. These spineless cur's would follow her her until there was a nice, dark corner for them to surround her in. Then start attacking one by one until they succeeded in bringing her down. They automatically assume that there would be no consequence to this- an easy job that no one would know about. Too bad for them that their little scheme wasn’t going to work. They were just humans foolishly underestimated their target. Alice walked calmly down the street, glancing back every so often at the three shady thugs creeping a small distance behind. It started with just one man following her the moment she left the bar, and then later on two more popped up out of the shadows. They were the current group who had taken to targeting women who stumbled drunkenly from her father’s establishment. Sometimes it was just harmless robbing, but lately that was not the case. Their clients were spouting horror stories about these men, and it was starting to get out of hand. So, Alice took it upon herself to solve this problem once and for all…even if it went against Mal’s wishes. Out of the corner of her eye, the girl watched the three guys spread out with the intent of herding her down an alley on the left. She knew the area well enough, so this time she was more than happy to oblige. Without hesitation she turned down the dark alley before breaking into a quick sprint- knowing that they would eagerly chase after her. The brick walls on either side guided her down a narrow path until the very end it let out into a round pocket surrounded by tall chain-link fences. As she reached the opening, Alice turned to face the three men who had followed her. “This ends here…” She whispered, pulling out a dagger that she kept in her boot. The first man began his assault by swinging his fist at her head, which was evaded with a simple side-step. This left his right side open for her to swiftly grab the back of his head with one hand, while the other jabbed the blade into the side of his neck. Afterwards, she threw him to the ground and prepared to face the other two opponents. The next one lashed out with a flurry of kicks and swings from a knife he held in one hand. One by one she parried, only allowing the blade to cut across her shoulder at one point so she could grab his arm. Then, she slipped behind him and struck the back of his straightened elbow with her palm. An audible crack was heard from the bone and a pain-filled cry from him as she dropped down to slice both the Achilles tendons. ‘Two down, now one more to….’ The girl turned around to face the last attacker, but stopped short when met with a knife being jabbed into her forearm. “Shit!” She cursed, kicking him back only to gather a few feet of separation from him. Her hand gripped the wound as she pressed the arm to her chest in pain. Now what was she going to do… MADE BY VEL OF GS

Another promise , another seed Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed And all the green belts wrapped around our minds endless red tape to keep the truth confined They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious They picked quite the interesting prey, the demon soon realized. A younger girl who appeared to be in her late teens. She was rather attractive and most importantly alone which made her the prime target. However, while she was in fact alone, as he watched her movements, he realized she was aware of what was going on. In fact, if he hadn't known any better he might have thought she was leading them as opposed to the other way around. He didn't realize how right he was as the young lady had every intention to lead the oblivious men to their demise. They'd seemed so confident moments ago, proud that their plan to herd her to her doom like some hopeless sheep had succeeded, but that all changed when the girl had pulled out a weapon. Vincent smirked at the sight, having watched on with interest, curious to how this would go. Three against one! However he'd come to realize she was more than a helpless little girl, which was a fact he was sure would make this show even more entertaining. And he wasn't disappointed as the confrontation began, off to a good start as one of the men was mercilessly stabbed in the neck. It made the demon's smirk widened into a twisted grin. This was what he'd been missing. There was nothing like good old murder. The girl was impressive in her fighting style, proving that one should really never judge a book by it's cover. However he couldn't exactly be too impressed. She was fighting against humans after all and he knew very well she was anything but. So he'd save his praise for now, especially since she appeared to be overpowered shortly after. It was rather disappointing really as the demon was actually starting to root for her. As the man readied the knife, prepared to finish the job that he and his fallen comrades had started but just as he was about to attack, he suddenly stopped and looked down to his stomach, blood beginning to soak the front of his shirt. Within seconds the man fell, exposing the large hole in his back and the demon standing behind him, lifting up a blood soaked hand and examining it. "Such fragile creatures.." Vince mused out loud. His demon form was slightly exposed with dark horns protruding from his skull and the claws he'd pierced the poor fellow with absolutely coated in blood. It was nice to get his hands dirty after behaving for so long. Ah, but he couldn't forget the girl, blood red eyes turning to her then as a smirk parted his lips, exposing a sharp set of teeth. "You almost had me impressed." he admitted, watching to see what her reaction might be. Would she be thankful? Perhaps scared? Or maybe she might even be upset he'd stolen her kill, a thought that caused the demon to chuckle. Alice Nocturne | even when he's trying to be 'nice' he still acts like a jerk lol MADE BY VEL OF GS

{ } The girl knew that the only way she was getting out of this was by exposing her true form, or at least half of it. Then she could rely on her quick healing abilities to patch up her arm while the rest could be used to intimidate the man. Alternatively, it could do nothing or scare him off so that he could go back to his gang explaining that a werewolf was lurking around downtown so that all their buddies can go hunt for it. The idea was a risky one, but she didn’t have much of a choice on the matter. It was death or risk being seen for what she really was. Just when she was about to change the whole situation seemed to backflip into chaos. What had happened was unexplainable, a scene that brew emotions of disgust intertwined with curiosity. One moment there was an angry man trying to kill her, then a second later he became nothing more than a corpse collapsing slowly to the floor. Even more so, what killed the thug seemed to be something that walked out of a book. Not that she wasn’t an oddity herself, but still. He had two horns, a rather dark looking appearance, and a certain unsettling debonair nature about him. No doubt that this creature was a demon. Alice straightened as she stared back at the man with utter uncertainty. On one hand he saved her life, and on the other…he was the embodiment of sin who obviously got a kick out of anything grotesque. She was not afraid of him, but she definitely didn’t trust him. Rumor has it a demon was one of the worst possible species you could run in to. They lived off chaos, or select negative emotions like lust, jealously, wrath, and pride. Sometimes gluttony or sloth came along, but they were the minor one’s the bar tended to pick up every now and then. This particular one didn’t seem to be too minor, nor did he show any interest in killer her just yet. At his comment she glared into his eerie red eyes as a frown twisted her lips. It was evident that her fighting got sloppy at the end, and that he had used her blind spot against her. But, her pride didn’t care how impressed or unimpressed this guy was. Alice just wanted to know what his intentions were, and why he intervened. “Bummer,” She replied with sarcasm dripping from her tone, “Cause' I was really looking forward to picking up a demon, while dishing out vigilante justice in a back alley.” For a moment her golden gaze dropped to the corpse at his feet, inspecting the gaping hole before snapping up to stare back at him. “Especially one that leaves such a big mess….why did you help me?” MADE BY VEL OF GS

Another promise , another seed Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed And all the green belts wrapped around our minds endless red tape to keep the truth confined They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious Confusion. Not the least disappointing reaction he could hope for but one that was at least understandable. He could practically read the thoughts going on in her head just looking at her face. Regardless of how she felt though, she had made no sudden moves. In fact she seemed to be analyzing the situation, like she had with the late thugs. Unfortunately she likely wouldn't be able to jump him like she had them, though part of him was tempted for her to try. He'd already gotten a taste of blood and the urge to cause more damage was certainly there. But he wouldn't hurt her. Yet, anyway. Her sarcasm caused him to laugh, the demon glad she at least had a sense of humor still. Sometimes invoking pure terror was amazing, but other times the demon found boldness to be just as charming. It was almost cute how brave she was acting. "Justice, eh?" he questioned with a smile. "If that's what you want to call it, sure." he humored. It was still murder, if it made her feel better or justified to call it justice, she could keep on telling herself that. But perhaps that might just be Vincent's cynical self talking. Not that he was upset either way. Again, killing was killing and it was almost natural for him to find his thrills in causing pain and death. Did she feel the same? Who wouldn't? It was like an addiction as far as the demon was concerned. Once you started, you could hardly stop. "Sometimes you have to sacrifice cleanliness to get the job done." he offered simply, not seeming too upset he had made a mess. She hadn't really done much better, though her kills were perhaps a little less harsh... and less to clean up. He could take care of the body though. He'd done so before, after all and had managed to move along with no consequences. Though he couldn't say the same for the girl and he half wondered how she'd expected to take care of the men on her own. Or perhaps she'd had no plan to get rid of them at all. Talk about messy! Her question came as no surprise though and the demon wore a devilish grin. "Who said anything about helping you?" he questioned with a small tilt of his head. "Perhaps I'd simply wanted a piece of the action." he reasoned. After watching for so long he couldn't help but have the temptation to join in himself. It ended far too quickly though and he supposed he was partially to blame. He'd gotten too eager and had finished the man in on blow. He could have shown a bit more resistance at least! Then again, they weren't very good at stalking to begin with, so he shouldn't be surprised that he couldn't even survive long enough for the demon to really enjoy himself. Another day, he supposed. "In fact, maybe I wanted to take care of you myself." he smiled, a smile that was almost sweet compared to the words he'd just said. "It would be rather pathetic for you to die to a human, so I guess I was helping you in a way." he chuckled. Despite the obvious threat, the scarred man made no room to attack just yet. In fact if she had been paying attention, his horns appeared to be retracting, bone slowly sinking back into his skull. MADE BY VEL OF GS

{ } It was a wonder how Alice managed to get herself into one weird situation after another. In her head she had planned to take care of the thugs and go home. She didn’t want to linger, or remember what had happened this unfortunate night. Killing wasn’t something she was unaccustomed to, yet it wasn’t something she actually enjoyed…or if she did then she had no intention of admitting it. This was just a dirty job she dealt with, and by the end of the day she just wanted to wash her hands clean from it. No one would miss a bunch of city rats preying on unsuspecting civilians. People would miss the cheery patrons at her bar- they were her friends. If anyone touched them, harmed them like these men had then they deserved the punishment she brought upon them. Dead men don’t cause trouble. Alice lightened up on her frown as the demon seemed to find amusement from her words. She still didn’t trust him, but at least he could appreciate her wit. That, and she found it hard to dislike someone who smiled so often. “My version of it, at least.” She replied, looking around at the wasted life she and him had littered on the floor. What she did didn’t have to be right, it just had to be done. If no more of her people got hurt then it was worth taking a few people out of this world. No one had to know, just her and this guy. This guy that she hardly knew; who seemed to find talking to her a lot more entertaining than killing her, which was nice. She wasn’t picky with the people she ran into as long as they didn’t cause any trouble. “I don’t know…making them look like they got impaled with a railroad spike is a bit on the overkill side, but who am I to judge?” She shrugged, getting a general feeling that she didn’t want to hang around in this place any longer. From what she gathered, the man didn’t seem like he intended to attack her. So, with a sigh of some relief, she bent down to put her dagger back in her boot. Then, her next task would be to hide the bodies the best she could since she couldn’t just leave them out in the open. Normally, a police wouldn’t care with hers because it looks just like a common gang fight. Although, the poor ass who had a gaping hole in his chest was more than suspicious. While they talked, she moved over to drag the last attacker over towards his buddies. Every so often she would glance at the demon to make sure he didn’t try anything, but she let down her guard to buy just enough to cover up the bodies with a tarp. Afterwards she brushed her hand on her skirt, and pulled out what looked to be a smooth, silver flask. “Perhaps.” She muttered as she walked up to him in a rather bold manner. “But, you won’t hurt me.” She looked into his eyes for a moment before offering him the flask filled with the whisky she nabbed from the bar. “Thank you, though. I owe you at least a drink for somewhat saving me, even if you had no intention of doing so.” Her eye scanned the area again before she looked back at the other, and offered him a smile. “C’mon, you can flatter me by saying how pathetic I am somewhere else-probably the closest I’ll get to a compliment from you, anyway.” A small chuckle escaped her lips as she began making her way down the narrow passage. Where they would go was in question, but she didn’t really care. The smell of blood was starting to make her feel dizzy. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES: I made my own notes section, yay!! Another promise , another seed Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed And all the green belts wrapped around our minds endless red tape to keep the truth confined They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious He looked back to the fellow who'd been impaled as she spoke, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips. "Fair enough." he replied, unable to argue there. His superior strength could have certainly finished the male in a much cleaner fashion but it was his fault for forgetting how fragile humans actually were. Or maybe he just conveniently forgot and wanted to make his latest kill one to remember. Either way, what's done is done, no use crying about it. She'd began cleaning up then and Vincent made no attempt to help. She hadn't asked for one, and it was technically her mess, he'd only helped her pick up the slack. But of course the main reason was because she was watching him warily still, which wasn't without good reason. She was wise to distrust him, he was a demon after all. A demon who still could very well turn on her, which was quite the tempting idea. However he refrained, mostly because he didn't want to have to clean up her mess and her. Far too lazy for that! She was doing fine on her own anyway and was actually probably more entertaining company alive than dead at this point, so he'd save killing for when he'd grow bored of her or when she actually gave him reason to. So far though, while it was obvious she didn't trust him she wasn't attacking him. In fact she appeared to be trying to get along with him. Whether that was fueled by fear and a desire to live or simply because she wanted to make friends with a demon for some strange reason it didn't necessarily matter. Oh? She really was confident, wasn't she? "You sure of that?" he questioned, looking rather amused by her boldness. She was mostly correct though. He hadn't the intention of hurting her right away, and as long as she proved she was more appealing alive than dead to him, she likely would have nothing to worry about. He'd calmed down from his high by then though, appearance having returned to 'normal' save for the blood still coating his arm. He'd have to find a way to clean himself, for sure, but fortunately there weren't too many people wandering around this hour, so he could probably get away with walking as he had until he was able to get somewhere he could actually clean the blood off. He was surprised by the offering though, taking the flask without much complaint and taking a whiff of it before he'd decide to indulge himself, pleased by the burn of the hard liquor on his throat. "It'll do." he chuckled, deciding the piece offering was alright. Didn't necessarily mean she was absolutely safe, but it did win the demon over a bit. He might have been an alcoholic in his past life. He took another drink before returning the flask to the girl, quirking a brow when she suggested going elsewhere. "You already know me so well!" he admitted with a smirk. It really was the best she could expect, Vincent wasn't exactly the most friendly of folks. In fact she was quite fortunate he was in such a good mood as he might have not even been humoring her now. With that settled he followed along after her, having no qualms about leaving the scene of the crime. It was best to not linger for too long if they didn't want to risk getting caught. { } “I’m positive.” She replied, slipping down through the long hall of brick that led out into the street. It was a quiet night with nothing in sight but the gentle rolling steam off the pavement. The emptiness was comforting. Nothing was in their way of escape, yet at the same time she wanted to bang her head against the wall. What the fuck was she doing? Yeah, let’s just commit a murder then make murder friends and skip down the street holding hands as we rejoice in not being caught for illegal activity. Sure, that’s how everyone spends their Friday night! Gooood, she was such an idiot! Why couldn’t she be like every other normal girl that went to school, made new friends, flirted with people who were not demonic- not that she was flirting. Just, trying to weasel her way out of not giving him a reason to kill her. At his comment she smirked, turning to face him as she walked backwards."I think I've got a pretty good handle on you.”She said before turning back around and running a hand through her short, black hair-revealing her eyepatch in the process. “You've got that whole ‘Dark, handsome, and mysterious’ theme going on, and it’s pretty damn good. I’ll admit. Had I been any other woman I’m sure skirts would be flying off. Buuut.” Her finger lightly tapped her lips as if in thought. When he offered her the flask back she gladly took a swig of her own, feeling the comforting warmth of the alcohol. Some nights when she worked at the bar her and Mia usually played a game where they guessed the persona of their clients. That man drank for loss, and that man drank to get laid. This man drank because he loved causing property damage. Everyone had a secret story, and Alice liked to think she was pretty good at figuring it out. “You are kind of like an antihero. You aren’t bad, but you aren’t good either. You do whatever benefits you…..and you love killing. I can tell by the way you smiled after taking out the last guy. Then there is something else….” She raised a brow, looking back at the demon. “You keep people like me alive to amuse you, possibly to ease the loneliness, yeah? I can’t imagine someone wandering alone at night that isn’t looking for company of some sort.” It was possible he was strolling around the streets for another reason, but she doubted it. No one spent their nights alone if they weren’t lonely, right? Like, take her for an example, she spent most of her nights drinking because she didn’t have anything else to do. She was essentially, alone. No shame in admitting it, just shame in the fact it turned her into an alcoholic. Anyway, to the final conclusion. “Essentially you’re a selfish, sadistic puppy. Am I right?” Alice laughed, glancing over to the man before taking another drink of whiskey. If she was not trying to piss him off she was doing a damn, terrible job of it. No doubt he would want to whack her after all that speal, but in a way she didn’t care. Death wasn’t her fear anymore. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------this....NOTES: Yeah!!! Another promise , another seed Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed And all the green belts wrapped around our minds endless red tape to keep the truth confined They will not force us They will stop degrading us They will not control us We will be victorious He was mostly joking when he'd told her she had him down before, but she seemed convinced she could read him even deeper than that and while the demon wasn't entirely sure he wanted her to try, he decided to keep quiet and listen instead, a brow quirked as he listened on with mild interest. Dark, handsome, and mysterious? Way to feed the demon's ego which was rather apparent by the familiar smirk that graced his lips. But there was more and he gradually began to find her interpretation of him a little less enjoyable. Talk about blasphemy. Or maybe it hit too close to home? Either way, the demon didn't look as amused as before but fortunately not enough to cause her any harm just yet. "So close!" he answered with feigned disappointment, not going into details about just how close she was however. "I was starting to think you were talking about me." he chuckled. "Though if anyone is the puppy here, I think it'd be you." he concluded, admitting his own investigation he'd been working on since the start. She obviously wasn't human so after trimming off some other possibilities, the demon was betting on the idea that she might have been a wolf. He'd met quite a few in his time, some not as welcoming towards the demon for understandable reasons, he supposed. Never mess with the pack, he'd been told, but he hadn't listened, adding another scar to his collection. They were rather strong beasts in their own right, but not strong enough to kill him like they had promised. Not wanting to linger too close to that topic though, he decided to change the subject as they walked. "Not that it matters." It really hadn't, he was just curious. "But what had they done to deserve the special treatment?" he questioned, referring to the three men hidden under a tarp. Obviously she had thought it was justice and though Vincent was skeptical of that and likely wouldn't change his mind, it didn't mean she could share anyway. As far as he was concerned, humans were naturally assholes so they were asking for death by simply existing to begin with. MADE BY VEL OF GS

{ } A sly grin slipped across her face as she watched the Demon’s smirk transition into a most unamused expression. It would seem that she had thrown her assumptions a little too accurately to the point where she could tell her comments had slighted him. Thankfully, it was not enough to truly anger him for he recovered well enough with a few sarcastic comments. At least this guy could hold up a pretty good act. Most would have jumped into berserk mode, and quickly bite back at what they considered a personal insult. However, it was out of place for Alice to say such things. Who was she to dissect issues from others when she had plenty of them to go around? Yeah this guy was a little on the odd side, but she was honestly no better. So, naturally, she began to regret her comments in the inner chambers of her conscience. He had been remotely kind, and should have offered nothing less than him if she wanted to uphold her code. No one’s perfect, anyway. That would just be fucking boring. With a guilt filled sigh, Alice offered the flask to the man once more. “I’m kidding. I’m sure you’re a nice demon.” She replied, although she felt another prod of dissatisfaction from her consciousness. Of course it wasn’t enough. Why wasn’t it ever enough to get by with a half-assed apology? Damn her morality. Suddenly her golden gaze dropped down as she crossed her arms ill-temperately. “And I like your scars….they are very….nice.” The werewolf grumbled, not really wanting to see the shit-eating grin she expected to slither across his face. It was just flattery, but flattery with some truth in it. They were kind of…enjoyable to look at? Enjoyable wasn’t exactly the word to use, yet it was close enough. They just made her appearance look a little less weird, she supposed. It was nice to meet someone who had features that stuck out as much as her lost eye. A great wave of relief passed when he quickly moved on to the next topic. “Why?” She countered, “’Cause I can grow big ears and a bushy tail whenever I want?” A chuckle followed her statement, not minding that she had given away the ‘big secret’ that Mal stressed to keep hidden. It was only fair, anyway. He had revealed his horns so she knew for sure he wasn’t A human-who were the only race that really freaked out about hers, or any race other than their own. She never used to be that way when she was human…. At his next question, the girl looked back at him with a nervous chuckle. Ace was never good at explaining things like her motives or emotions. For some reason, the difficult part was just trying to relay the thoughts in her head to the words out her mouth. It was a complicated process that left her in silence for a few minutes as they rounded another street corner. “Well, I work at a pub with my adoptive father, and those assholes were starting to target the drunk customers that walked home…Some of them even ended up in the hospital because of their nightly assaults…and one died.” She began, calmly brushing her dark hair back while she spoke. “They were just harmless people who drank to have fun or to forget, and most of them were women. God forbid they chose to attack people who could actually defend themselves.” The girl scoffed, feeling a deep hatred bubbling up for the men she had just killed. " Anyway, I just wanted to protect them. I don’t care what happens to me; I’m no one special, and I’m not afraid of death. But, when you go after the people I care about that’s an entirely different story.” Another sigh followed the last of her words, and she began feeling like she had said too much. There was no doubt in her mind that the thugs needed to die. Hell, if anything, they deserved to die. Nothing good would have come from them in the future save for more deaths from innocent people. Still, she had so much big talk for someone who had almost gotten her ass kicked by a mere human. “Yeah, I know it sounds kind of cheesy, but y’ know….” Ace shrugged, suddenly feeling a bit self-conscious. Meh, talking was always so tedious when it got a little too personal. That, and It made her feel uncomfortable to the point where she preferred to look at the asphalt under her boots rather than him. Yep, all aboard the awkward train. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES: You only get one chance to be an asshole, Alice. WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK ❝ A NICE DEMON? Nice wasn't exactly a word you'd use to describe a demon without getting some odd stares, or in this case a sardonic laugh. He definitely hadn't heard that before, at least not genuinely, so it was rather amusing to say the least for the girl to say it so seriously, let alone even let it pass her mind. It was enough to get his mind off the lonely comment at any rate (and so did the return of the flask). However she clearly wasn't satisfied, really trying hard to apologize now. He quirked his brow, looking down to himself as if he had to remind himself the scars were even there (they were kind of hard to miss). Yes she was really pulling at straws now. He couldn't tell if she was actually sorry for rubbing him the wrong way or she was worried that he might have reacted poorly, either way it was kind of.. sad? No, more like pathetic. Being concerned over a demon's feelings was rather stupid to begin with and while flattery was always pleasing to the narcissist, she was going about it very poorly. That or she was just really weird and did find his scars nice. Either way, he decided it was all unnecessary and wished to end it before she embarrassed herself any further. "Don't hurt yourself, kid." he snorted, taking another swig of the drink. "It's cute, but I've got a pretty thick skin." he reasoned with a smirk before tossing the flask back to her. Yes he could take a lot of hits, but he was incredibly unpredictable and had a nasty temper. It was always safer to just play nice as he could completely calm one second and your fucking nightmare the next. Just as thankful to avoid that other topic, he chuckled as she confirmed his thoughts. "Or maybe because you smell like a wild dog." he suggested with a mischievous grin. Actually she mostly smelled like blood and alcohol, but he'd already agreed to 'flattering' her so he might as well fulfill his end of the bargain, right? Insulting people was all he really knew! Was the demon enlightened by her explanation? Not really. It answered a few questions, sure, but, if anything, he was a tad disappointed by how predictable it was. He'd been around the world long enough to know how fucked up humans could be, so he was hardly surprised by the fact her victims preyed on defenseless women. In fact he was cynical enough to expect that kind of behavior so it didn't even make him flinch to think about it. Of course, he was no better. But that was besides the point. What was the point was the fact that she was right, it was incredibly cheesy. Sickeningly so. He probably would have been more impressed if she had told him she'd simply wanted to give the goons a taste of their own medicine. He'd take that over the whole 'hero of the defenseless' bull. But he refrained from saying anything, if only because he noted how odd she was behaving now. He rolled his eyes at the sight, awkwardness practically radiating off of her. Good! At least she recognized how cheap it was. Unfortunately as much as he loved to see her squirm, he found it all rather annoying. She might not be human, but she definitely acted like a teenage girl. "Forget I asked." he requested with a weary sigh, tired of that topic now too. MADE BY MINNIE OF FTS & GS

{ } The whole situation just kept spiraling down until it eventually hit that point where Alice reaaallly didn’t feel like being there anymore. It was a rough night and the girl obviously felt slightly conflicted in her current actions. To have this guy shut her down, in the marvelous way that he did, was the final slap in the face—the final shot straight to the poorly hidden self-conscious side of her. If he had intended to make her feel like utter shit then Mr. Demon certainly hit his mark. Although, Alice was only slightly a pussy. From here on out the girl intended to show him nothing short of pure animosity. Her hand quickly caught the flask that was thrown to her, and she opened it take a swig of liquid courage. A wave of relief hit her the instant she felt the sharp burn rip down her throat. Inside she had known she was a damn fool, but alcohol dulled that feeling just a bit. Plus, it was her fault for trying to lower her walls and make nice with a creature created from the fiery depths of hell. She should have expected it, and in a sense it made her glad she learned this valuable lesson. Be a hard ass, things ended much better that way. Alice quirked a curious brow at his comment related to her smell, “Oh? I wasn’t aware you were creepily smelling me…although it’s not too hard to catch a whiff of your reeking scent.” She replied, taking another drink from her flask. “Smells like sulfur and the foulest parts of an asshole.” A smirk slipped across her lips, giving him no reason to think she was pissed off. He would have enjoyed knowing she was angry, and she had no desire to give him such pleasure. But, if we were being honest….Yeah his last comment made her pretty damn livid. ‘Forget he asked? Then why the fuck did he ask!?’ She ranted inside her mind, obviously feeling a little butt-hurt from his words. Well, butt-hurt was putting it mildly. She was embarrassed of herself, and it made her feel….weak—A feeling that was the kryptonite to her personality. Oh did she hate this bastard, now. “Oh, sorry! Let me talk more like a demon.” She turned to him with a sarcastic, wide grin. “I’m so dark and cool. Stabbity stabbity stabbity--Pentagram Pentagram, I probably haven’t gotten laid in one-hundred years, Goat heads and 666. All hail mother satan!!!” Man, she was really getting tired of this guy. Luckily, she didn’t have to deal with him much longer. As they reached the end of a series of apartment buildings, the last one had just so happened to be hers. The girl turned and quickly climbed up the short steps to her door. “Thanks for walking me.” She muttered, pushing the key into the lock. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES: Awww, Someone got a little sensitive. xD MADE BY VEL OF GS

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK ❝ OH DEAR, it would seem he really struck a nerve this time, the girl going from trying to be friendly to total aggression. It almost set him back but mostly amused the demon. This was the kind of power he liked, the power to completely change people with just a few choice words. Of course she had been trying to appear like she wasn't at all angry. Unfortunately, the spite in her words just said it all. And that anger only seemed to fuel the sinful creature. "You flatter me!" he smirked back, not seeming to have been offended the least by his apparent smell. She would really have to try much harder than that to upset him! Never mind the fact she'd gotten dangerously close earlier. Oh but that wasn't even the end of it, the girl going on with what he assumed was supposed to be an impersonation of a demon. It could use a bit more work. In fact it was just sad. And where did she get the idea that Satan was a mother? He laughed at the thought, probably the exact opposite of a reaction than she was hoping for. Unfortunately the fun would end shortly after as the girl had turned off to a building that was apparently her home, giving him a rather bitter thanks as she went to letting herself in. "It was a pleasure~" he purred with a devilish grin that could put the Cheshire to shame. As tempted as he was to continue to torment her, he decided he'd had his fun and simply waited for her to disappear into her place.
