[ABILITIES]
• glamour: the ability to conjure minor illusions. they can easily hide physical traits from people who don't know what to look for, or create small distractions.
• shapeshift: the ability to change into animals or objects. this power is not an immediate change and is physically straining
[PERSONALITY]
Bas is a rather friendly man who most would find to be a complete sweetheart. He likes to crack jokes and spend time around others, never missing a chance to make a new friend or spend time with old ones. He's very kind, especially to his tenants in Burnt Out Aparmtents although he's rather strict with his students seeing as French is a language he's taken a certain love for. If you're in his class he has very high expectations for you. He's rather mild-mannered, often joking that he's a lover not a fighter and choosing the pacifist route and leaving fighting to be a very last resort if he can.
However, underneath that ever smiling facade is a very sad man who has spent nine hundred years carrying the heavy almost smothering feeling of guilt. There is always the fear of getting close to someone within him and even worse...he fears falling in love after what happened to his first love. Under his mild mannered and pacifistic out views is a Kitsune that is more than ready to fight if pushed into a corner...and likely win. He's lived long enough that the wisdom of the world has tested him over and over again, leaving an air of melancholy fondness. He's a sad individual who often dwells on his past but other than in love he attempts not to let it control him too much.

[APPEARANCE]
Bas is rather handsome, his mixed lineage coming through easily in his hair and eyes although his facial structure and slight figure screams of his origins in japan. He has rather long-ish wheat blonde hair framing his face and stopping just below his chin while his bangs are swept to the side so that it obscures his right eye from view. His eyes are a deep grey-blue that sometimes go from one or the other when it’s not its curious mix. The Frenchman has a crème complexion that had once bordered on tan during his younger years but now it’s a medium color that’s perfectly balanced.
His frame is slender and slight, only slightly toned in certain areas such as his abdomen, arms and legs that show he often runs in both his forms. It’s just enough to keep him in shape and strong but nothing like the whipcord muscles of others. He stands a good six feet from the ground, although when he dressed in his combat boots he pushed six feet one inches. Most people often confuse him for a model than the teacher he is but seeing as in his youth he had modeled a bit it isn’t too much of a surprise. He likes stylish clothes, things that hug his body in certain places and remain loose in others. Much of the time his friends call it the posh edged look since but he usually just laughs at them.
[Kitsune Form]
In his Kitsune form he’s rather big, easily reaching his human form from the head down while meeting just above his waist from the shoulders down. He has nine glorious fluffy tails that have signified each century he’s lived through and Bas’s fur is a deep golden blonde color that fades to a soft scarlet at the tips of his tails. Having an almost horse-like mane towards the back of his head as well as deep scarlet eyes.

[HISTORY]
Sébastien was first given the name Akitoki Chiharu before his life had taken a sizeable downturn and he’d had to run from his mother land, taking on a new name. He’d been the second oldest out of five littermates and the only one with his mother’s coloring while the others took after their father with midnight fur and dark brown eyes. He was always a curious and adventurous kit, poking around where he certainly didn’t belong and giving his parents and siblings heart attacks with his near misses. With his curiosity also came the knowledge he acquired from the mistakes he made and challenges he was met with.
It was only when he was twenty winters that he made one of the biggest mistakes of his life and he hadn’t even realized it yet. His family had split apart by that time, the twins being the only ones keeping in contact with him and visiting. So it was only natural that when he came upon the young woman dressed like a youkai hunter, his curiosity drew him to her and there was no one to warn him away.
They talked often, him at first appearing to be a young man from a nearby village, and he learned that she came from a family of hunters. However, at some point he found himself not caring and genuinely growing to love her. So much so that he couldn’t lie to her any longer about what he was. It was to his surprise when she admitted to having already known, claiming that she’d seen him transform from his kitsune form at one point. It was when she too had fallen in love with him it turned out. For a while there was naught but blissful happiness, even when his two younger twin siblings warned him away from the foolishness. He could not be swayed from the utter love he felt for the young woman, who’d stolen his heart just as quickly as she could have probably stolen his life.
Alas their happiness was not one meant to last. One of her family members caught them one day, him in his true form with her upon his back carrying her and it spelled the end for them. Her family, enraged by her betrayal in not killing what they deemed to be a ‘youkai’ and instead defending him, decided her fate. His siblings who’d over heard that her family meant to put her to death rushed to him, warning him of what was to happen and he ran. Ran to save her and take her from the people that would so quickly cast her aside. However, he’d been too late. When he arrived her blood painted the ground red and he’d been forced to flee the only home he’d known in 23 years. He spent his first two centuries running from place to place, never staying in one place too long and always moving forward in order to keep away from hunters. It was when he came upon the European lands that he finally slowed, his years running finally catching up to him and the desire to actually study the human world finally catching up with him.
As the years passed, he began to learn more and more once more but this time he never forgot what happened when he touched to closely to the surface world of humans. He always kept a certain distance from the creatures, especially any he thought might be hunters. It was when he came upon France that he found a place he could truly learn to love living at and he adopted a new name as he’d discarded the one he’d once gone by when he’d fled Japan. He stayed there for several hundred years, moving from state to state whenever he felt it was time to go and disappear once again. He stayed for so long he practically became a native to France, adopting the accent and life style over the centuries and losing any trace of his heritage save for the structure of his face and body.
It was when he got wind of Hossi that he finally left the European lands and ventured into America. Curiosity once more getting the best of him and volunteering to go along with their idea of teaching students to hide themselves among students. However, when the Headmaster expressed the desire to open up its doors to humans as well, Bas was one of the firsts to express his displeasure with the idea. He’d learned from past experience that they should never be mixed that closely together but alas in the end the doors to the school were opened to humans as well and now he just waits to see what the outcome of this will be, hoping for the best.
