I said it's been a long timeSince someone looked at me that wayIt's like you knew meAnd all the things I couldn't say The tall red-headed man huffed as he jogged along the sidewalks towards his job. It was getting late and he still had papers to grade. His class had just read three chapters of The Scarlet Letter, and he was sure they had no idea what the hell they were reading. The kitsune mentally rolled his eyes as he remembered one paper from last semester when they had read Hamlet and one student wrote "That bitch be tripped" within the paper when he was referencing Ophelia's mental breakdown. While Soren was amused because the little things in teaching made him chuckle, he couldn't give it a passing grade. He had been running for a while. Damn his motorcycle for breaking down on him for the fifth time. Though, he was sure that that rustic piece of junk was at it's end point. Fifty years it had been his companion, perhaps he should just get another one? With what money? You used the last of it to buy new suits and clothes for your sister.... Soren's inner voice was correct, but he wasn't happy about it. "Honestly, I need to fix that damn bike up one day so I won't have to run everywhere. This is the 21st century, running water, indoor plumbing, and vehicles are the best to come out of this!" His British accent apparent since it was very heavy. Soren groaned, but kept running. Thoughts of his job came into his mind now as he ran hard towards the club. He was going to be late if he didn't step up his pace. He was a hardworking man who worked as hard to help bring up his sister who lived with him at the Academy. He bought the food, clothes, and even paid tuition. A teachers salary wasn't going to cut that if his bike kept breaking down on him every single time he looked at it, or at least it seemed like it. He had gotten the job as a bartender, while it was hell having to deal with kids of all races everyday, he thought working as a bartender at night wasn't all that bad. If he could handle the kids at the academy, he could handle adults that came into the club. Groaning, he slowed so he could slip his ear buds into his ears as he then started to run again. The sights of the city flew by him as he ran closer and closer to Paradise Lost. He blocked out one of his senses with music; blaring loud music in his ears. Today it was the music from a band he had found recently called Fall Out Boy. He ran on ahead, keeping time to the music with his feet, or at least he tried to. He had many things to worry about, but his first concern was getting to work on time. TAG: Mckenzie Tirnel | WORDS: xxx | NOTES: write something here if you wish | MUSE: link here ▲ MADE BY VEL OF GS

she has her eyes
She had only just started here at the club. One would have thought she would have been used to loud noises and crowds since she had been living in the general area of the city. But she wasn't. No, rather she felt very cornered in large crowds such as the ones you faced within a club environment. But it was a little more comforting, having her father there with her rather than working in a unfamiliar place. She took a deep breath as she stood by the entrance, or at least nearby.
"I don't know Trouble. Maybe Papa will understand if I tell him I don't feel well tonight." The chipmunk nestled in her hair didn't make a sound, but a slight shift would let her know that he had fallen asleep in there. It was a true comfort she and the Chipmunk shared, but she kind of wished that he was awake. She could have used his loud chittering in her ear.
"Hmm..maybe some tea will calm me down..." She murmured to herself, the mammal in her hair forgotten for the moment as she began to walk towards the nearest bodega. Her shoes did click a bit against the hard ground, but she was so lost in thought that she didn't notice the man running at full speed until he finally ran into her, knocking her off balance. "Ouch..." she mumbled, rubbing her head, Trouble who has previously been sleeping scurried back up her side after he had tumbled from her hair.

I said it's been a long timeSince someone looked at me that wayIt's like you knew meAnd all the things I couldn't say He was lost in the music while he ran. Soren felt his muscles push and pull with the movements he made. He was very skilled at running around people, but the more he ran in the streets with heavy metal music now blaring in his ears the more his thoughts intruded upon what he tried to keep from his mind. He's lived many years upon this earth, 900 exactly, and he was not without his memories he'd rather do without. He lost many loves over the years, partly because he tends to choose human loves over supernatural ones. He tried dating a vampire once, but that was a time he'd rather not remember, she was more interested in feasting on blood rather than the romantic relationship Soren wanted to start. He then realized that the heavy metal music turned to a sappy love song, something he couldn't take right now. Give me a tragedy any day. Soren tapped the touch screen for a new song. It was called "Car Radio" by 21 Pilots. Soren mouthed the words that he found to be interesting and he could relate to them. I ponder of something great, my lungs will fill and then deflate, they fill with fire exhale desire, I know it's dire my time today. Soren's mind didn't even process that he was going to run into someone. His eyes were too busy looking back into the distant past. His thoughts were everywhere as usual. Grading papers, getting to the club on time, and then finally getting some sleep. His reflexes were still in full use. He had ran into her at full force, yet his hands still shot out to steady her so that perhaps she didn't fall down. Quickly he yanked the ear buds out of his ears to apologize. His British accent thick as he rushed his speech. "My apologize, miss, I wasn't watching where I was--" He stopped as he looked at her. Her beauty struck him speechless at first, though he was well versed with the ladies over the 900 years he had been alive. "--Going." He finished, his brown eyes unfocused at first. He shook himself out of his gaze only to look her over to check to see if he hurt her. "I hope I didn't hurt you." He smiled at her like his usual, grinning like the fox he was.
