{ } Her tired gaze watched the clock tick by in a slow, painful rhythm. Every minute was even more torturous than the last, and she couldn’t help but to think her efforts to study were futile. If she wasn’t ready for tomorrow’s math test now, then she figured she never would. Not that she was worried, mind you. Alice was fantastic with math, just terrible at studying….one makes up for the other. Anyway, the whole point was that the girl had spent enough time loitering in the library. It was an hour passed school closing, and she really needed to get home. The teen quietly made her way out the door and into the long hallway. By this time all the other students had gone home, leaving the hall bare. In a way it was eerie, yet oh so very peaceful. The hustle and bustle of other people could be energizing at times, but silence was truly golden. To her it felt almost like a personal freedom. No one was watching, or judging. She was all alone, just her and - wait, what the hell was this? After walking no more than ten feet she just so happened to stumble upon something very strange. Alice blinked, finding herself staring into the eyes of a tiny, white rabbit sitting contently on the floor. ‘Is this some kind of joke?’ she thought, bending down to get a better look at the animal. The closer she got, the farther it scooted away in the opposite direction of the school entrance. Almost like it wanted her to follow him-Pfffffttt. A small chuckle escaped her lips as she stood once more with her hand on her hip. “How funny, A White Rabbit here to lead curious Alice to Wonderland.” She muttered, shaking her head in disbelief. “Well I’m not falling for your cliché’.” She attempted to walk away from the obvious trap with her head held high. But, the more she thought about it the more her curiosity grew. Would it really hurt for her to take just a moment to catch it? Then she could let it go outside instead of leaving the poor thing to hop around in Hisso Academy. That would be the right thing to do, because the right thing always made her sleep soooo much better at night. Yeah, right…. Alice stopped for a moment, looking back with her one golden eye. There the animal still sat, twitching its cute little nose and wriggling its cute little ears-Oh for fucks sake! “I’m such a pushover” Alice muttered in defeat, turning around to wander after the ivory creature hopping swiftly down the hall. As she did so, her mind began to wander to the infamous tale of Alice Liddell who fell down a rabbit hole and into another world. A story that has been loved by children, and pot heads, alike. Old memories of the characters popped in her head as she slipped around the corner that connected into another hallway. What were they again? A punctually challenged Rabbit, or the creature she was supposedly following now. Then there was…the teen pondered, then jumped to the side as a small mouse scampered between her boots. “Dormouse!?” she shrieked, turning to watch the rodent flee behind the corner with a larger looking rabbit that she presumed was actually a Hare; The difference being that Hare’s had longer ears and bigger bodies. “A-And the March Hare!” For a moment the girl felt a slight panic in her chest. This was getting waaaaay to coincidental and trippy. Half of her wanted to just turn back home, while the other half secretly wondered if Mal had put the wrong mushrooms in her salad this morning. Why was all of this happening to her? Couldn’t she just turn back, and forget all of this ever happened? No, she must continue her investigation without hesitation or the fear of possibly being on psychedelics. As she walked on a few more animals were seen crawling along the floor, and she attempted to remember their names the best she could. “The mock turtle,” she whispered, passing a slow moving box turtle who hissed when she passed by. He didn’t seem too friendly, but was considerably nicer compared to a bright green lizard that was seen snapping after another mouse. “Bill the lizard and….” Her words wandered off to wonder why she was now stepping around a series of scarlet colored crayfish. There weren’t any crayfish in the story? What the hell kind of dream was this? Alice furrowed her brows in confusion, walking towards an open classroom with different kinds of creatures pouring out of it. Once she reached the door her mouth dropped in horror at the scene before her, “Shit!!!” Inside the room she saw multiple cages turned over and the windows wide open. This wasn’t wonderland! This was all the damn biology animals making a prison break! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------NOTES: I....typed a novel....sorry xD MADE BY VEL OF GS

It was rather surprising to see all of these beautiful creatures caged up like this. Almost unfortunate really. Rowan had to admit he had some sympathy for them. It was understandable to try the method of what the teacher referred to as, "dissection," once. But did they constantly need to do it every year? They had pictures for other things. You didn't see them dissecting humans after all. It was all so very strange for the angel but so was everything else. But he watched as the teacher opened one of the cages. Rowan was a quick learner and figured just by that visual, he'd be able to open them later. But for now, he'd bide his time and help his furry friends escape later. He had even placed one of his hands against the cage and gave a promising nod. He'd be back for them. By the angel, he'd be back. But first the teacher needed to get out of the room for that to happen. There was no dilly dallying on his end. Once the teacher left the room unoccupied, he slipped in and got to work at getting these poor creatures out. He fumbled around with the handles here and there but finally he was able to get them open, and one by one the animals got out. Rowan moved his hand in a hurried fashion, wanting them to get going as fast as possible. Who knew when the teacher would be back right? He even opened the windows for some of the more dauntless animals. But they were most certainly taking their time getting out. What was wrong with them? He was trying to help! Sinking his teeth into his bottom lip, he watched the rest scurry around, opening the door for those who weren't brave enough to take a dive out the windows. "Be free, my friends!" But now that they were out, the question was how he'd be getting out. Sure, he could dive out the window too and go flying. But even so, he knew that perhaps it wouldn't be a smart idea since it was still daylight. Before he could make a choice though, he heard someone approaching and figured it would be smarter to just take a dive for it. It's not like he'd die, right? Considering, well, such was already his fate but hey, to-may-to, to-mah-to, right? So he lifted himself onto the windowsill but before he could make the jump and get away from the scene of the crime, someone had already entered. So naturally he huddled back into the room and turned with a look of surprise. And before he could even react, the apologies started spilling from his mouth. "Please don't do anything to the poor animals! It was my fault! They don't belong in cages! I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I really am!" The teal haired boy waved his hands frantically, trying to calm himself down. But it was no use, he'd worked himself up. But finally he did stop himself and got a look at the other who had entered. She didn't look old enough to be a faculty member. So did that mean she was a student? He blinked a few times, then looked to see she hadn't bothered to gather any of the animals. Perhaps that was a relief in itself. But... What was she doing here exactly? Finally he glanced back up at the other and offered a sincere, apologetic smile. If he caused a mess then he'd try to clean it up as best as he could but he'd rather not put those poor animals back in cages. "I think I probably did something bad here, right?" he asked, scratching his cheek with his index finger. "But can I ask? What are you doing here?" ☆ OOC NOTESAlice NocturneMADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

{ } ‘Was this guy trying to climb out the window?’ was her first thought as she watched the boy teeter on the window sill, while various animals scampered around the room. At first she took a step forward in order to stop the culprit. If he was trying to steal school animals he was going to have a pretty bad day. It was bad enough the creatures were locked up and tested on for ‘learning’ purposes, the last thing they needed was some guy trying to steal them away for….whatever. Black market? Were black market bunnies a thing? Anyway, Alice was ready to jump right after him, but soon found the situation completely changed. Instead of a thief, she found a mere boy pouring out a waterfall of apologies. “I-It’s ok! Please calm down, um…I’m here to help?!” She blurted out as she waved her hands down in an attempt to calm him. “We just got to be reeeal quiet, ok?” Yeah, real quiet while they were essentially doing illegal activity that could get them expelled. Well, actually she wasn’t against all illegal activity, but being expelled would suck. She…really shouldn’t be doing this even if she did think keeping the animals locked up was unfair treatment. Yet, how could she say no? He was just a kid—probably a first or second year student who was obviously trying to do a good deed. Well, in all honestly the face really got her. It was like looking at a confused, frazzled puppy. You can’t just say no to puppies, man! That’s impossible. Alice let out a heavy sigh, pinching the bridge of her nose in frustration. “I….am such a big pushover….” She muttered to herself, and walked over to further survey the situation. Luckily, it seemed that most of the animals escaped one way or another. The ones that remained could easily be ushered out the window safely, and the ones roaming out in the halls could be scooped up in her bag. Yeah, they could do this. As long as they stayed quiet enough…. His question disrupted her thoughts, pulling her focus back to the teal-haired boy. “Well…..yes and no…. In principle it was right, I suppose. As for me, I followed a rabbit here, ironically enough.” She replied, offering a kinder smile before pulling her dark bangs in front of her missing eye out of habit. “I suppose you were here to set the animals free?” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------NOTES: MADE BY VEL OF GS

As soon as the other said she'd help, the other couldn't help but flash his teeth in a pleasant smile. She agreed to aide him in his work! He couldn't be any happier! Out of sheer habit, the other launched himself at the other in a hug. That's what people did when they were excited, right? His grip in the hug wasn't too rough fortunately, as he was aware of his own strength. But he most certainly was unable to contain his excitement. Unfortunately he had yet to actually understand personal boundaries. But then he did remember hugging someone else and getting a negative reaction out of it. With that his eyes flashed open and he pulled away, looking in slight surprise. He can't believe he almost forgot what the last person scolded him with when he hugged them. "Sorry. Shake hands, don't hug," as he spoke, he nodded with the shake hands part, and shook his head when he said don't hug. A rather animated fellow, at least. "But I would most certainly appreciate your help, uh..." Oh goodness, he forgot to ask for a name. More importantly, he forgot to introduce himself! But it seemed they didn't have time for introductions before now. After all, he had tried to escape and she had stumbled upon the mess that was left over. But nevermind that, they had some other things to get to. Walking over to one of the rabbits that seemed to have trouble finding its way to the windowsill, he carefully lifted up and placed up on it. He had forgotten that the classroom was on the first floor. So if he would have tried to escape, the most he would have done is faceplanted but he most certainly would have gotten out. Still, the animal hopped off the windowsill and into the grass below. With that, it took off. Her words pricked in his mind. Yes and no? He think he understood that much. Morally proper but something that he could get in trouble for with the school. And he most certainly didn't wish to return to Heaven. "Yes, that's right. They looked so helpless," he frowned a bit, looking away for a brief moment. "But I'm Rowan, I guess you can say I'm new here?" He was pretty confused with how she said it was ironic that she followed a rabbit here. Was that a reference to something? He couldn't say he knew. But perhaps he'd find out eventually. Rowan was a bit surprised with how she covered her left eye with her bangs. Was that a habit? Or was it something much more than that? It would be rude to question it now. Perhaps at a later time. For now, they needed to focus on gathering the other animals and getting them outside. Just as he thought that, a rodent scurried across his foot. One in which he swept down to carefully pick up. A smile formed against his lips again as he reached up the rub its head with his index finger. And yet again, he made sure to send it outside. Something in which the animal was happy to go. For now, they'd just have to worry about the animals in the hallway it seemed. There weren't many, fortunately. But they needed to find them before someone else did. At least the person he was working with on getting them out was agreeable enough to help him rather than hold this little fiasco against him. But they needed to get to finding these animals, and quickly! Rowan faced towards the door and chose to make his way out first. Surely none of them had gone up the stairs. No, they'd be struggling to get up there. But it never hurt to check. So that's where he started. And perhaps it was a good thing. There was a frog already halfway up the stairs. The angel quickly advanced towards the animal, scooping it up. One down, only a few more to go. ☆ OOC NOTESAlice NocturneMADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

{ } “Oh--Oh ok.” She muttered, blinking in surprise as they boy suddenly decided to hug her. She had been lost in thought when the action occurred, but it was not unwelcome. Actually, it made her laugh a bit as she reached to pat the top of his head. Most people didn’t really didn’t show common affection, like hugs, to her unless it was her father or some drunken customer at work. Not sure why, maybe cause most people found themselves intimidated by her? Either way, it was kind of strange in a rather nice way. As he pulled away to correct his spontaneous action, Alice couldn’t help but let out another chuckle. “Nah, hugs are fine. I prefer them over a handshake, anyway.” She smiled, watching him suddenly hop right in to catching all the loose critters. Man, he really was an animated kid. Almost, to the point where the word 'puppy' began to describe him more and more accurately. He was happy-go-lucky, Energetic as hell, A bit scatterbrained, yet lovable in a cute kind of way. But, she definitely knew he wasn’t a werewolf, the smell was entirely different. Most of her people smelled like woods, or dogs. This guy kind of smelled like fresh laundry and lavender…If that’s not weird to say. Don’t judge, she was part animal so smelling people was a habit. “Alice.” She answered his unspoken question before making quick work of catching a few mice. The little furry creatures wriggled in her palms until she released them outside the window. “Yeah, they probably deserve a better life than being stuck in a cage. But, It is nice to meet you…I thought you seemed a little new. This is my last year.” She thought out loud, watching the rodents scamper off into a bush. Then she turned to follow him out the door and into the hallway. From there she began working on scooping up the loose crayfish into her bag, being careful to avoid their sharp pinchers. Once that was done, Alice moved to chase after the hare she had seen earlier and a small turtle. Each one she placed carefully into her bag to hide until she double checked to make sure they got them all. It seemed that the frog rowan caught was the last. Now all she needed to do was find a good home for them, and she knew just the place. “Out here!” She called after the boy before opening a side door that led out into the schools courtyard. In the outside section of the school, trees littered a grassy area that surrounded a natural pond filled with lily pads and fresh fish. Here, the animals could live in peace or go farther away from the school if they desired. It didn’t matter to her as long as they were safe. To be honest, she was kind of glad she helped them escape the biology lab. For once in a long while she felt like she was doing some good. Her knees dug into the soft grass as she kneeled down to opened up her bag for the little creatures to all rush out. When she watched each one run for shelter, Alice closed up her bag again and crossed her arms under her chest. “Saving animals, and not getting caught while doing it. I’d say that’s a pretty damn successful day.” She said, curling one side of her lip into a half-grin. It was a nice day, too. The sun was still high in the sky, bringing a comforting warmth to her skin. Maybe she would just sit here for a little longer. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------NOTES: Ramble Ramble Ramble Ramble MADE BY VEL OF GS

At least she wasn't mad with that hug. Most people weren't too happy when it came to physical contact, especially from a stranger. But he'd keep what she said in mind the next time, that is if they ever saw one another again. The school was pretty big overall so he didn't dare to keep his hopes up. But her name was Alice? That'd be easy enough to remember. It was pretty common after all, or at least nothing unusual. She was just as quick to catch the creatures scurrying around as he was. How fortunate they didn't have to worry about any straying off. It seemed she had gathered all the others though as he chased after the frog. It took no time at all, really. Rowan supposed he was happy about that. Still, it was a shame to think that this was the last year for the other. She seemed like a pretty nice person. But maybe he'd see her around even after? It was hard to tell, fate had a tricky way of stringing people along. He followed along when she called him out. She was quick to find a place to take the captured animals out too. Jeez, he got lucky being discovered by her. Alice seemed to be pretty quick on her feet at least. Rowan kept the frog cupped in his hands and when he found a suitable place to release it, he placed it down and watched as it had begun to hop away. But as he turned around, he saw that the other looked pretty comfortable just sitting down in the grass. Quite frankly he assumed they'd be going right back inside but hey, this worked too, he supposed. Taking careful steps over, as not to possibly step on any of the creatures they gave freedom, Rowan eventually stood over at the other's side, then sat down. Nothing too comfortable. In fact, he seemed a little iffy on sitting on the ground. But it wasn't too bad once he got down there. And the sun felt pretty nice. But certainly not as nice as the feeling of freeing those animals. Shifting a bit, he sat with his legs crisscrossed as his arms dangled out in front of him. "Well nothing deserves to be caged up. Pulvis sumus -- We are dust. Everyone and everything is equal in the end." Mindlessly, he began plucking at blades of grass beneath him. He figured that since the other had helped him, it meant that perhaps she subconsciously thought the same thing. It was funny how the mind worked. But he supposed that his thoughts bordered a higher power. Through dissection and such, people were playing God in their own sense, killing something before its time. He'd met plenty of people before who were killed before their time was up. A pity, really. Most of them had such bright futures in store. It's not like it messed up the cycle of life but it was disappointing to see wasted potential in the end. In the midst of his own thoughts, he glanced up again and looked carefully at where Alice's bangs covered her eye. Curiously, he tilted his head and voiced his opinion outright. "Doesn't that make it a little difficult to see?" Not that he was aware of the eyepatch. And by his tone, it was obvious he was genuinely curious as to what she might have to say. As if on instinct, he arched his eyebrow. Hopefully he could get an answer of some sorts. At least he didn't just reach up and tuck her bangs behind her ear or something. That was a habit he had broken himself out of real quick much to the relief of most. ☆ OOC NOTESAlice NocturneMADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

{ } What time was it? Eh, it didn’t matter. At some point today she told herself she would stop in to work after studying, but that was before the whole animal fiasco. As of late, she had been spending too much time at the pub, anyway. Working long hours during late nights take a toll on the mind, and she relished the freedom she had now. If she were alone she probably would have switched to her wolf form for a nap until dusk. Yet, she doubted her newfound friend would have handled that well. Not that she didn’t like him, on the contrary, she found his company refreshing. Most people were so damn cynical these days—natural pessimists. Rowan, on the other hand, was a pretty happy-go-lucky guy from what she could tell. It was something that was positively contagious in a very good way, and it rubbed off on her the best it could. For now she was content, forgetting the natural things that usually plagued her. “I suppose not, and it is not the end most people are concerned with—it’s the in-between. Nice Latin, though.” She replied, watching him sit down next to her. Now she felt like the pessimist, but it was true in a way. Everyone died, it was inevitable, but it didn’t stop most from doing what they desired before their death. In a way, it was how humanity varied greatly from animals. Even to the end, the main concern of beasts were to eat, sleep, and reproduce. Or, to survive if one was putting it simply. As for people….it was way different. Some lived to survive, to enjoy the simple life pleasures. Then there was her, she lived to protect in order to make up for past transgressions, and then there were those who just wanted to watch others suffer with or without reason. Either way, death was not what people feared anymore. So, in a way, animals had developed a more honest sense of life than humans, which made it a shame that we caged them so. His question had brought her back down to reality, but it wasn’t something she happily greeted. At first she furrowed her brows as a harmless natural reaction. The last time someone had asked about her bangs they didn’t seemed to like the answer. It caused them discomfort, and most people didn’t enjoy feeling discomfort almost as much as she didn't enjoy the pitiful looks she got in response. In her mind it was others seeing her as weak, and weakness for Alice was like a taboo. Ugliness was fine. She could still kick ass if she was ugly. But, if she wasn’t strong enough to keep her pack safe….that was a huge problem. However, the question still remained, and it wasn’t in Alice’s nature to be mean to those who didn’t deserve it. Rowan was a nice kid, and if he didn’t respond well to the answer then so be it. At least she was honest. A weary sigh escaped her lips as the girl lightened her expression, giving him a most uncertain glance. “Well, it would….if I could see.” She forced a small chuckle before brushing her bangs back behind her ear, exposing her purple and black eyepatch. “I kinda…don’t have an eye. It’s gone, and I keep it covered because it makes people feel uneasy.” Her words were calm, showing no sorrow about the loss. “I don’t mind, though. It was a price I had to pay, and I don’t regret it.”She gave him a lopsided grin, and decided to ask a daring question of her own. “You’re not human, are you?” ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------NOTES: Ramble Ramble Ramble Ramble MADE BY VEL OF GS
