WORD COUNT @pomme2
BY MINNIE OF GS AND IT'S DARK ON A COLD DECEMBER, "I swear it was just here..." Nenet muttered as she shifted through several items in a chest that rested in the corner of the dorm room that she and Deneb shared. She had asked him if he wanted to come to Central Park with her today, if for nothing else other than to stretch their legs. She had been so focused on trying to write her paper lately, she may have unintentionally cooped herself up inside of the dorm, and for the past few days she had been feeling kind of antsy. It was the first paper of the semester, and she had been working hard to write it to the best of her ability, only thanks to Deneb taking the time to show her how to write. Only higher powers could help whatever computer she tried to use.
Though now she had lost something she found too important not to go out with. But, she was pretty sure that it was within the dorm somewhere. With Deneb still being out, well, she had a bit of time to find it she supposed. "Not it." She murmured as she tossed things one after another from the chest she was hanging over. It was a flurry of things being flung over her head, a lot of things landing with a clank on the dorm's floors below. "Nope...Nah..." She continued through it. There was no way she lost it elsewhere. "Has to be...no." And yet another thing was tossed over her shoulder, rumbling to a stop on the floor below it.
"Heeeereee Necklace!" She called out. Maybe she had forgotten why it was so important to her along the way, but without the glittering item she felt...well, insecure. Unsafe almost. It was kind of a silly thing but she still couldn't remember who had given it to her. When she was done going through her box, she stood up to walk over to the desk and begin going through that. And well maybe, had she thought to look in the bathroom, she probably would have remembered that she took it off last night. - - i think i love you better now

you run and run and you look for something that is gone Well, it wasn't as if he had something better to do today. School was just plain weird -- he knew enough to know that this is how human children learned and the general system that it followed, but it didn't change the fact that it was still very weird to him. It was very different from how dragons learned, or at least the dragons he grew up among. It was something that humans called homeschooling, except not exactly. It was more like their parents all happened to teach them around the same things, and it was always more focused on their traditions and lore and everything else.
The only reason why he was not completely clueless was due to the trips into human civilization he had taken with his brothers. They had always been such oddly fascinating trips, but they kind of also were the only real reason why he was in the second year now than... well, the first year. Deneb wasn't even about to kid himself out of that one. He had wanted to go get a thing of beef jerky from the vending machine outside, and thus had said to Nenet earlier that he'd be right back. Said trip to get beef jerky resulted in him wondering if he wanted the spicy one or the not-spicy one for five whole minutes though. Go figure.
It was doubly as pointless to have spent so long, seeing as how in the end he just threw his hands in the air and bought both. Whichever one he ended up not eating now could be a midnight snack some other day, or something. "Yo, Nen, you --" The moment the earth dragon had opened the door to the room he shared with his best friend, he was hit in the face with... well, some sort of garment. He hadn't really had time to see what it was before it was essentially draped over his face. Slowly, he reached up and pulled it off of his head, dangling about a foot away from him by a strap pinched between his fingers. "I think I can safely guess that's probably a no?" tagged • Nenet Manu _ notes • there is nothing to note in this post, no really, there is nothing at all TEMPLATE & MESSY CODE © POMME • FEEL FREE TO USE IF YOU CAN NAVIGATE ALL THE CODE

WORD COUNT @pomme2
BY MINNIE OF GS AND IT'S DARK ON A COLD DECEMBER, She was becoming increasingly worried about the necklace she was unable to find. Had she left it somewhere last time she went out? She didn't really think someone would just hand it in to the lost and found if that was the case, and she took a deep breath. It had to be here. She was so absorbed in searching through the chest that she had almost not noticed it when her best friend had opened the door, and she also hadn't been watching what she was flinging. That was why when something hit him in the face, she didn't react until about a minute later.
"Oh Denny, I'm sorry, I was just looking for--" She paused as she looked down at what he was holding. She blinked once or twice in confusion, before lightly snatching it. "Den!" She chided, lightly however because she felt that him coming into possession of an item that humans apparently considered sacred (because only one gender was apparently allowed to handle it unless specified by the said gender)probably had something to do with what she been doing moments before anyway. Turning back the the open chest for a moment, she flung the garment back into his before taking another deep breath and turning back to Deneb. "See I was getting ready so we could go but then I noticed something and I've been looking for it since you went out but I can't find it anywhere and it's really really important and I know I should have been keeping better track of it and..." She finally took a breath in, all of this being said in rapid succession as her thoughts roamed to where the necklace might be.
Finally, she moved to place her hands on either of Deneb's arms, as if she were going to shake him, except she knew she wouldn't be able to shake him with his stature compared to hers so she didn't try that. "Denny, did you see what I did with the necklace I'm always wearing?" Now, there was likely a reason that the young Phoenix hadn't checked the most obvious place to look. She didn't like the bathroom. The shower was in there, and she normally only went in when she needed to use the toilet. Otherwise, anyone who knew her, knew the bathroom was a place she only usually went at night, to attempt a shower as normal humans do. But that kind of thing was painful to a Phoenix, and they were often quick. So to Nenet, the bathroom felt less comfortable than it did to others. - - i think i love you better now
