Art was a tidal passion for Kaz. There were years when he could produce seemingly endless works, yet he could also go decades on end without even touching a paintbrush. The noncommittal essence of it was not from lack of love for art, but rather due to his love of so many different passtimes. He enjoyed the action of it -- the ability to create something, even if the subject of the piece wasn't especially meaningful. Regardless of whether the creator had any meaningful intent, humans had a way of giving just about everything meaning and importance anyway. Even themselves.
Watery colors merged together on a white plastic pallet as Kaz patiently mixed them together. He hadn't touched this medium for over a century, and had returned to it just a few years ago. He drew what he saw. The room, the tables, the ceiling which had yet to be hit with any thrown pencils by rowdy students this year. He could have decided to paint something beautiful -- a flower, or the human form -- but flowers and humans had existed for much longer than himself, and would likely continue to exist for even longer. Surely the inventions and creations of their ever-changing society, no matter how seemingly mundane, also deserved their appreciation while they lasted.
The door opened, revealing a woman, as he finished the last stroke enclosing its frame.
"Ah, are you the new art teacher? My apologies for intruding. I didn't want to have any open paints around my books," a practiced smile graced his features as he stood to greet her, "My name's Kazimir Petrov; I work in the history department here."

| loved the stars too fondly
Of all the days in the year the art teacher had to deem one day the most frightening of all. The first day was the beginning of the end when you have to meet everyone and then tell people about yourself. It was really, really scary especially for someone who had never really taught before. This was lotte's first time teaching let alone being in the state for very long, so it was all kinds of new things for the woman. Even so, lotte was determined to see this through as she got her things in order and was given a small tour of the school and where everything was by the headmaster. It seemed like it was going to be a rather easy settle in, despite how hard she thought it would be. Everyone so far had been really nice and helpful from where her dorm was to any other questions she had about the school. It was refreshing to have people that really seemed to care about one another here. What the woman didn't expect, however, was that there was someone in her classroom. THe woman froze at the door for a moment taking in the look of the others muscled back and the easiness of his strokes on the canvas before him. It was a moment before she registered that he had been speaking to her. "oh! Sorry, it's been a long day... It's not a problem at all " she replied to his use of the art room. Lotte didn't mind sharing with someone who appreciated art. "ah yes! My name is lotte karlotte, and I am indeed the new one " she said with a slightly embarrassed laugh as she pushed her brown locks behind her hair careful not to knock the pink rose sitting there out of her hair. " it's nice to meet you.. Do you paint often?" she asked slowly easing into the conversation despite the surprise that had started at the beginning. Yet the woman couldn't help but find herself at least somewhat attracted to the other.. 'you don't even know him well and you already think he's cute.. Good job lotte good job'Kazimir Petrov | I'll fix the icons later |
