The demon tapped her fingers against the sleek surface of the bar, feeling the vibrations pulse in rhythm. Around her she could detect the loud energy of the people that filled the club. Some danced, some talked, and some just simply watched eagerly from the sidelines. Every one of them were blind to their surroundings, but rightly so. The thumping music and dark atmosphere provided a cozy place for her.
It was only natural that they enjoyed it in full ignorance while she fed off their erratic emotions. Yet, something felt off, tonight. This herd had been hers to watch over for many, many years. So, when a strange presence entered into the midst of the club, she was the first to notice.
A man sat at the edge of the bar alone, drinking away without a care in the world. To anyone else he was just a simple bar fly. But, Ava knew much better than the poor fodder that filled Paradise. Red eyes, multiple scars, strange metallic smell—it hinted he was one of her kind, yet she couldn’t tell for sure. If he was though…that would not please her. Ava was kind of racist, only to her own kind. Every other species she could manage, but Demons were the messiest by far. They loved to kill, and when they did it was usually smeared all over the walls. It was her job to make sure that didn’t happen in this particular establishment. This was her home, her Territory. If he proved to be entertaining to her in a behaved sort of way he could stay. If not....well that would not bode well for him.
Ava finished the last of her drink before slipping off the stool with her crimson cloak trailing behind her. This should be quite fun. It had been such a long time since she talked to another demon other than her twin sister--if he was a demon, that is. As Ava approached the man, she held her head high with the slightest trace of a grin curling the ends of her lips. “Good evening, are you alone?” She purred in a smooth tone, staring at him with tainted, silver eyes. Her finger reached up to curl around a strand of hair, while her gaze darted to make sure no one was watching them. “You should come meet me in the back bar, right over there. It’s empty.” The girl pointed out a doorway just a little ways away with a heavy black curtain.
Then, in a rather playful manner, she leaned close to whisper to him. “Y’know, before it gets a little dangerous.” On cue, the girl moved her hand to peel back a small portion of her red cloak that revealed something unexpected. Something expected would have been a short skirt or a lewd panty slip crap; what was unexpected, and attached to her hip, was a rather large handgun. “Move it.” Her voice took on a harsh tone, and she straightened back as she shot him a glare. Yeah, she wasn't here to hit on him.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK ❝ WHAT HAD LEAD HIM HERE WAS BUT A MYSTERY. Well not exactly, it just happened to be far more convenient for the demon to seat himself at the bar in Paradise as opposed to crossing the town to get to his regular little pub that he'd claimed. He only needed a drink, a burn to his throat and a means to drowning out the rest of this godforsaken world for just a few moments so he could be in a calm and pleasant bliss. He was quite the happy drunk, after all, and found dealing with the usual bullshit far easier when in that state. Unfortunately he wouldn't be getting to that point before someone had approached him. She was a cute little thing, odd attire but certainly attractive in her own right. He chuckled at the thought, taking a good drink of the alcohol as she spoke. "Perhaps." he replied with an equally cool voice, letting his eyes scan her from head to toe before the red orbs would return to her face. "Are you here to change that?" he chuckled, certainly not minding the attractive company. Unfortunately, she didn't seem interested in a night of fun. At least not the kind he'd been thinking. But that certainly hadn't disappointed him in the least. He looked over the gun at her hip with faint amusement before letting his eyes meet her glare again. "Nice toy you've got there." he chuckled, taking another drink nonchalantly. After such a long day, he was so done with bullshit that he could hardly give any shits about this girl threatening him. In fact, that look in his eyes almost dared her to make a move. "It's cute, but I'm not at all interested, doll." he reasoned, setting his glass back onto the bar as he sat back in the stool, relaxing. "So why don't you turn that pretty little ass of yours around and mind your own business, yeah?" he suggested with a quirked brow, lips pulling into a devious smirk, flashing a set of sharpened teeth. You know those bitches that get really offended when guys stare at them like walking pieces of meat? Yeah, Ava wasn’t one of them. The head to toe glance over was appreciated and simply stroked her already large ego. Every now and then it was nice to be reminded that she could turn heads as fast as she could make them roll. So, the demon simply smirked and tilted her chin rather proudly as she wiped the serious expression off her face. No point in being stern when she knew it wasn’t going to work. Only cowardly humans responded in obedience, and it seemed he was not one.
“Perhaps.” She responded in kind,” And thank you. I do enjoy my toys.” The demon covered her hip once more. His reluctance further supported her theory that he was what she guessed him to be. Demons were never easy, and only catered to what amused them. Of course, this described her as well, but no matter. She had his curiosity, and now it was time to capture his attention—something that should be relatively simple. Not to mention the girl did love to play a game or two.
“Awww, that’s sweet. You really think I give a shit what you think?” Ava giggled, reaching to pick up the glass he had set down. ‘Here’s to causing another scene in public’ she thought to herself before finishing the rest of the alcohol. Then, after promptly setting the glass back down, the demon took a small step back. “You want to do it the hard way? As you wish.” Her voice took on a sweeter ring, and placed both hands on her hip, lifting the sides of her cloak as she bent down in a proper curtsy. Once she was low enough, an agile hand gripped the hilt of a machete strapped to her side.
With one swift move, she aimed a deadly slash horizontally at the wooden legs of his stool, and ended the attack with a quick step back; just in case he moved quick enough to counter. The idea was not to hit him, but to certainly slice the stool legs in half. After her little stunt the girl would merely watch his reaction with her weapon held ready and a flawless grin.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK ❝ YEAH THIS CHICK WAS BAD NEWS. If it wasn't simply the vibe she gave off, it was that smirk of hers that really took the cake. But rather than do what any wise man would do, Vincent simply found himself more amused. Now what on earth had he done to provoke her? Nothing he was aware of. Then again, perhaps she was simply being an ass for the sake of being one. Either way, the demon could appreciate it. Sadly, today was not the day he was in the mood for games. He'd simply wanted to relax and she'd have to wait another time. Clearly that wasn't something she was interested in. "Hmm..." the demon hummed at first, finding her statement to just fuel his lungs. The sarcasm on this dame was to die for. "Enough that you'd come and try to impress me with your toy." he offered with a shrug. He still hadn't a clue as to why he deserved the honor of her wanting to pick a fight with him, but still, he wasn't too interested. "Run along. You're barking up the wrong tree, bitch." he smiled 'sweetly'. Was he really not interested in prolonging this? Some would disagree with his tactics, but that was just Vincent being Vincent. He was naturally an instigator. He just wasn't prepared for her to be just as bad, though her tactics were just a tad different. Where one minute he was sitting relaxed in the stool, the next minute he was struggling to keep on his feet as the legs of the chair literally fell out from under him. He'd manged to keep upright, though not with much grace, relying on the counter to keep himself balanced until he was able to compose himself. This girl was quick, he'd give her that. His grip on the counter tightened until a visible crack appeared, the area crumbling under the pressure, the man's smirk looking even more demonic if possible. "Such a persistent little pest." he stated with just the slightest tinge of annoyance in his tone. "Fine, if that's what you want, I'll play along." he agreed. A gentleman would never lay a hand on a girl! Good thing he was no gentleman. Without the slightest bit of concern over the weapon in her hand, the demon approached, towering over the much smaller girl now that he was standing. "Come on then." he chuckled. "I'm defenseless. What's stopping you from doing anything?" he questioned. Maybe he was betting on her waiting until they were outside to settle this. Maybe he didn't think she would do shit. She was beginning to like this guy and his little sass thing he had going on. It only fueled the fire, but not in an angry sort of way. Instead, it made her feel like a coked up scientist in a nuclear bomb factory. How many buttons could she push before the whole place erupted into pure chaotic hell? Hopefully, he had a long fuse. It wasn’t always fun when there was a premature detonation, you miss the slow painful jabs and the impressive witty banter. Or, at least, those were her favorite parts of the game--The game of finding out just how dangerous this guy could be. If he could control himself then he could stay, or come back anytime to drink merrily. If not, well….then she’d have to find a way to keep him as far away from here as possible.
“I was kinda hoping you’d impress me.” She laughed, crossing her arms under her chest as she watched him struggle to stay upright. It really was a beautiful scene, seeing someone eat their own words even if it was for just a moment. However, this was not victory. Her little stunt was just the first push in the right direction. He was annoyed before, but now he was just going to be pissed….it got her really excited. With his ‘sweet’ grins and complimenting curses, Ava could tell this guy was going to be a lot of fun. Perhaps, he would be as bad as her? The Demon could only hope for an equal rival.
At this point everyone began to stare at the new entertainment near the bar. No one spoke, but even if they did she wouldn’t have cared. All she could focus on was that smirk he gave right after gaining his balance. “Good. I knew you wouldn’t disappoint.” Ava replied, looking fairly amused at the gentleman. She was well aware how much she annoyed him, which was the point. This was her way of finding out who someone was. Anger tended to exploit hidden personalities and tear away the ‘masks’ that people wear. Meaning, that Ava was pretty intrigued by this guy. She wouldn’t have put forth the effort if she thought him to be boring. The only question was if it would be worth it in the end, or if he would just be a waste of time.
A wide grin slipped across her lips as she tilted her head up to stare at the towering man. Silver eyes stared defiantly into his, showing no concern over the vast height difference. “Boy, you’re pretty cute when you’re mad.” She replied, placing one of her hands against the curve of her hip, “But I’m not going to cater to you just yet.” Slowly, she pointed her machete in the direction of the closed off bar room area she mentioned earlier. Let’s just hope that he intended to listen this time. There was no need for them to fight it out in the clubbing area. Too much people, too little room…no real enjoyment. “You wanted to play along, right? Follow me, and I’ll make it worth your while….maybe.” Another chuckle followed her words, and she took a step in the intended direction while watching his response. Ava knew better than to turn her back to him. Pride wasn't going to make up for stupidity.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK ❝ SHOULD HE HAVE FELT HONORED BY HER COMPLIMENT? The demon doubted it, knowing well enough that she seemed to be hinting that he was simply playing into her hand. But at the same time, it fed his ego enough to keep him from doing anything silly. That and, well, the fact that they were in a public place. While she might have been careless about causing trouble, he was a little more disciplined than that, though honestly not by much. He was very tempted to retaliate, but Vince kept a cool face while the fire burned hotter inside of him. Would she actually try anything else though? That stunt of hers had certainly caught some glances and the standoff between them only had the other patrons more enamored. She was an odd one, for sure, and he couldn't exactly read her as well as he could most. She seemed crazy enough to go further if need be, but there was also a sense of intelligence behind those mischievous eyes. A dangerous vixen she was. Had his pride not just taken a hit, he might have found that realization very amusing. In fact he might have found this danger to be pretty attractive once he had the chance to cool down. Unfortunately that didn't seem too likely at the moment which actually might have been a good thing for her if her words were anything to go by. "Oh?" he began. "You really haven't seen me angry just yet." he admitted with a dry laugh. Not until the horns came out and those fangs were exposed would she see him truly mad. It wasn't exactly a pretty sight. He'd just end up getting even more adorable if she kept this up. But she wasn't going to. Yet, anyway... He quirked a brow, a bit confused. What the hell did this damned woman want with him then? He simply followed the direction she'd pointed to again with the blade, brows furrowing as he realized she was pointing to the same room from before. She was really insistent, wasn't she? He groaned at the thought, a sound that sounded more feral than normal. "I have my doubts." he admitted. But if it was truly empty and they were alone, perhaps it really could be worth his while, be it through her plans or plans of his own. Either way, he didn't plan to leave disappointed tonight so this time he would oblige, following after her and noting the way she waited. Certainly a wise move. Now that did make him chuckle. She knew he would eventually bite the bait, which was exactly what she wanted. Ava was a complicated person, but often times her desires were not. Having people obey, even with reluctance, was still a successful mark in her book. So you can only imagine how proud she felt when the man finally agreed to follow her. Although, it would have been so much simpler if he had pulled the stick out of his ass and just went along with it in the first place, but C'est la vie. The cost of his stubbornness was only a stool, and an audience that now knew she was not to be messed with. At least she was grateful that her companion did not intend to make a scene.
“Marvelous, then I have something to look forward to.” She replied casually, making her way to the heavily curtained doorway. Whether or not she intended to truly enrage him was up in the air. The demon really had a love for pissing people off. However, it was not something she was going to jump right in to. At least, she would try to enjoy toying with him for a little bit. Then, if she so desired, Ava would test how strong he actually was. Or, just spend the rest of her time testing his silver tongue if she liked him enough….meaning words, she wasn’t a pervert or anything....Lies.
After a very short distance through a cluster of crowds, they eventually entered the back bar room fully furnished with leather black chairs and mahogany tables. This was the owner’s private room, save for the times she decided to use it. Then, in her mind, it was hers and it was completely at her disposal. With half the crap she pulled with them it was a wonder she still had her job. But, hey! This was all for work, right?
Ava tucked a cigarette between her lips as she walked over towards a bar that wrapped around one corner of the room. Naturally, she ignored the stool and decided to hoist herself up on to the counter to sit comfortably. “Now tell me…” She began, snapping her fingers to ignite a miniature flame to dance atop her thumb. Within seconds the cigarette end was lit, burning bright red as she inhaled. “What is your name and how big are your horns?” After the last question her mouth twisted into a coy grin as a plume of swirling smoke slipped through her lips. She knew what he was, but she wanted to make sure of it.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK ❝ WELL IT SEEMED THE GIRL WAS SIMPLY LOOKING FOR ENTERTAINMENT, if he read her correctly at any rate. While she certainly seemed capable of causing trouble, he wasn't too sure that was her immediate attention. Still, didn't mean the demon would ease up, nor would he let his guard down. He was old enough and had enough experience to know better. Eventually they'd arrive to the private room that she was so insistent about dragging him to. While she made herself comfortable on the bar, Vincent instead kept himself upright, comfortable with standing after his last seating experience. He crossed his arms over his chest as she lit herself a cigarette. The smell of the burning tobacco actually awakened his addiction but he showed some restraint, saving the smoking for after this little... whatever this was was settled. He'd hate to end up wasting a cigarette should she try and start something, after all. But onto more important matters, he supposed. Quirking his brow at the question, he only looked confused for a moment before chuckling. "Are you serious?" he scoffed. Was this really what this was all about? Talk about petty. But perhaps he could humor her? "All you had to do was ask." he reasoned with a exasperated sigh. He was still a bit annoyed, and it was probably quite obvious, but he was more amused now just by the sheer ridiculousness of this. "You can honestly call me whatever the fuck you want." he began, not exactly one hundred percent interested in making friends with this girl just yet, thus not willing to just make this easier and give up his name. But he did answer her second question, a pair of large, thick horns growing from the top of his head. "I don't think I have to ask you the same question though." he stated with a smirk. "It's no wonder other creatures consider us assholes." Of course that was a compliment as far as he was concerned and he had a pretty good feeling she would agree. "Is this really all you wanted me for?" he questioned with a tilt of his head, sounding less amused. Perhaps part of him did actually hope for a fight. But, really, it was probably better off that way. Two demons fighting could pretty much be an endless and fruitless battle. Reading people could be so easy sometimes, like flipping open a book with large words scribbled across the page. Occasionally, people tried their best to keep it hidden, but this guy didn’t seem to be trying too hard. He wasn’t impressed, how unfortunate for him. The last thing Ava wanted was some drunk’s approval on what was ‘cool’, and ‘hip’ when he was practically ancient. That was the best thing about her, she gave no fucks- not now, not ever. When it came down to it, he was just tonights amusement, and so far their feelings seemed pretty damn mutual.
But wait, where was her manners? He was her guest, and it would seem that she had did at least have the responsibility of providing some friction. She brought him here for a reason that was beyond flippant words. So, by right, she owed at least a little more than a casual introduction. Even if the introduction gave her absolutely no information at all. Lovely, now she was going to have to use all her brainpower to come up with a name. Pffft, like that was going to be hard. If there was one thing she didn’t lack, it was creativity.
Metallic eyes stared at the man as he continued to show is displeasure almost childishly. With every word she sat there with a deadpan expression, smoking away as if she were watching a continuous loop of an irritable old man. Sorry if she wasn’t queen Stabbity running around with a pitchfork in hand. Damn, she was a demon, not psychotic. Then again, she did promise entertainment on her part-shame on her for withholding it. All right, since someone was so impatient to get the ball rolling, she would humor him…as soon as she got what she wanted. Which, she did the moment two horns began sprouting out of his head.
“Nope.” She replied curtly, tilting her head slightly as a pair of large, ram like horns curled around the sides of her head; they dipped as low as her chin and continued to stretch several inches past her jaw. Then her pale hand removed the latch to her cloak, revealing a rather sleek black dress that graced the top of her knees. On each side a cross nestled just below her shoulders, and a belt full of weapons hung loosely at the curves of her hip. Along with that her back shoulders remained conveniently bare to allow two massive black, leather wings to stretch out. It felt good being able to assume her natural form around someone who wouldn’t freak out at it.
Her wings folded back neatly against her as she hopped off the counter to enable a spade-tipped tail to slip beneath the hem. “We are assholes.” She chuckled, pulling out what looked to be a small rod from her belt of ‘toys’. After a simple flick the rod expanded into a long pole with a curved, crimson blade at the tip. “And no, Twatwaffle, this is not what I brought you here for.” The expression on her face remained emotionless while she walked slowly towards him. If she wanted to ask him a bunch of questions she could have just done it at the bar. No, she intended to make a point that would have caused a very uncomfortable situation in front of the other customers. There was a reasoning to this, to showing her true form, and to spending the better part of her night talking to him instead of drowning in a glass of booze.
Once she was a foot away the demon stopped to take another drag from her cigarette. “I know my kind, and I know how un-fucking-predictable we are. I don’t mind you staying here, but I wouldn’t push your luck. If you spill a single drop of blood here I will hunt you down and pump your guts full of lead.” Her threatening words were spoken through casual smoke. If she was angry she certainly did not hint a single bit of it. Instead, she took another step forward and tapped the butt of her scythe against the marble. “I’m the boss, CEO, queen if you’re feeling dramatic. It doesn’t matter. Paradise has only one rule. Don’t fuck with Ava.” Her fiery gaze locked on to his, and a smirk crept along her lips. “Got it, Shitstick?” The demon filled her lungs with smoke one last time before flicking it around- a simple nicotine offering.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK ❝ HE WAS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT, but was that necessarily a good thing? He watched with curious eyes as she dropped the guise and showed her true self, the older demon only slightly envious as he caught a sight of her wings, but this didn't show. He'd hardened to the fact by now, after all. Still, it did cause his back to ache just thinking about it so he decided to distract himself with something else instead. Which wasn't exactly too hard. She was dressed pretty with a surprising amount of weapons hanging off the belt around her hips. Compensating much? Vincent chuckled at the thought. Well at least he was being less grumpy? The anger was beginning to die down, sure, but he most certainly wasn't going to play nice anytime soon. And then she ruined the mood with such a heinous nickname that it completely made him miss what she'd actually said, or the fact that she had a scythe out now and was headed his way. "Oh my god..." he groaned. Twatwaffle? Really? He didn't even know why he gave people the chance anymore to be quite honest. It was always a disappointment. But this is what he got for expecting a demon to be just a little more creative than the average human, he supposed. Before he could really comment further though, he did finally realize that she was closer now and that she was armed. Still, despite this realization he didn't appear to be too intimidated. Was intimidation even possible? Who knows? Still, the crossed armed demon simply cocked a questioning brow as he listened to her little speech. Ooh. A bossy bitch, eh? How was he so lucky? While she might have not liked him being here, evidenced by the fact that she pulled him aside for that reason alone, she seemed willing to tolerate his presence if he behaved. Oh dear... She might have been asking a bit too much of him. Actually she was asking a whole lot and quite frankly, while his intent tonight wasn't to cause trouble, the sheer fact that she was practically ordering him not to just sparked that rebellious side that made him such an ass to deal with. Behaving wasn't exactly his thing, not unless there was someething to gain. Sadly, she didn't have anything that interested him at the moment so she really was out of luck. Taking the offered cigarette though without much hesitance, Vincent got himself a good drag of the cancer stick, letting the smoke calm his nerves before releasing two streams from his nostrils. "Am I supposed to answer to Twatwaffle or Shitstick?" he questioned, completely missing the point of the threat, it would seem. Or just purposely making things more difficult. Likely the latter as it was something he was quite good at. But before she could get too upset with his complete lack of attention, he went on to... settle her concerns. "I had no intention of any blood spilling." he admitted. Had, but of course that could change if he was felt like actually pushing it. "Nor did I plan on sticking around your shitty little Paradise, your Majesty. Especially after such rude customer service." he continued with a snide laugh. Paradise was far too stuffy compared to his liking. In fact he would have not even stopped in had he not been in need of a drink. He'd stick to his old fashioned pubs, thank you very much. But perhaps if his visits were always as interesting, perhaps he might visit again. If only to make Ava here uncomfortable since she clearly had a problem with her own kind. Not that he could necessarily blame her. "What are the rules against just fucking her?" he added after some thought, as if trying to ease the tension. Probably not the most effective way to do it, of course. He hadn't been lying about her being attractive, though, and he could better appreciate the view now that that ridiculous cloak was out of the way. After watching him carefully she noticed something that differed between the two. Where she had the full horn, tail, wing get up he only seemed to have just horns. Where was his wings, or did he not have any? Kinda lame, just running around trying to intimidate people while looking like an ox that just got out of a shredder, but hey. Who was she to judge? For all she knew he had probably lost them when he gained all those scars. It would be no surprise that he ended up pissing off the wrong person-a fairly cruel person. Even she couldn’t imagine what it would be like to have her own precious leathery appendages ripped from her back. If that is what happened.
Ava could hardly hold back a cackle at his reaction to the infamous Twatwaffle, yet somehow she only showed a glimmer of amusement. He behaved in the exact way she expected him to. Fucking prima donna, he might as well have rolled his eyes and turned up his nose in disgust. Please, he was more dramatically prude than half the little shits that ran around Hisso. Meanwhile the best insult she heard from his mouth was ‘bitch’ and boy was that original. No one else in the world had ever called her a bitch before, it was just waaay too vulgar. You know, it was a wonder what this guy did with all the sand shoved in his vagina.
When it came to his response she found nothing new. There was no way in hell she imagined him to even be remotely phased by a single word she said. It was just a mere way of letting him know where they stood. Which, was right on the corner of ‘we are both egotistical asswipes’ avenue, and ‘we are never impressed. Why do we even bother being social?’ Street. It came in handy when insults began to fly, because in all honesty, she really didn’t give two fucks about what anyone thought.
“Well, since you seemed so unimpressed with those. I go with bigger words-Vapid Troglodyte, Cantankerous Whore, The sad result of a test tube baby gone horribly wrong…” She trailed off, finding herself rather bored with puking up dictionary pages. “Or, you could just tell me your name.” Silver eyes wandered over to the side of the room, finding a small shard of glass more entertaining than his rant on customer service or some bullshit. Naturally, as soon as his mouth opened she figured it wasn’t worth listening. Why waste the energy on paying attention to ‘Mr. high and mighty’ when she had a swell enough time imagining what it would be like to drive that small sliver of glass right into in to his eyeball. But, that wasn’t very nice, she supposed.
At the end of his words the girl’s gaze flicked back to the irritable man. “I’m sorry, Were you bitching about something? I lost track after I stopped giving a shit….which was pretty much at the beginning,” Her tone showed an obvious lack of interest that perfectly matched her expression. She wasn’t a child, and she didn’t needed chiding. What she did need was him to actually provide something amusing, rather than acting like a judgmental prick. Man, how did this spiral downward the way it did? It was a damn shame. He seemed so fun at the beginning.
Just when she had expected nothing more than a night of endless bickering, the Demon heard him ask something that slapped her with confusion. A slim brow raised as she gave him a ‘Did you seriously just say that?’ kind of look. It was meant to show her disbelief rather than rejection. Actually, after a minute she did lean sideways to better inspect his posterior. He was an ass…but he had a nice ass, and when she glanced over him he was pretty damn tappable. At least she could be honest with herself.
After a moment Ava straightened once more before crossing her arms with her scythe still in hand. “Is that an invitation?” She questioned, smirking at the insanity of the idea. It was obvious they hated each other with a burning passion, yet she had no problem considering the thought of an angry-banging, one night fling. Jesus, her priorities were screwed up. Although, the key word was consider. The last thing she needed was to jump into some guy's pants, but if it seemed interesting enough she was not above it. It all depended on how the cards played out.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK ❝ OKAY, that was a tad more creative, he supposed, though he was more impressed with the use of more advanced vocabulary than he was by the actual insults that he supposed were being tossed his way. He didn't get the test tube baby one though, but he could certainly say he hadn't heard that one before. He shrugged at the thought, quirking a brow as she insisted on his name. No, seriously, what was with everyone wanting to know his name? He wasn't entirely sure what the gain was having it, nor did he really think it was important enough outside of human guises and since she certainly was no human, it wasn't at all necessary, right? Apparently not. He shook his head at the thought before deciding to humor the queen. "Well if you must know, I go by Vincent these days." he stated in a bored tone. He wasn't even entirely sure why he bothered. He was already growing quite bored himself and the more they simply talked, the more his anger dwindled down until it was back to his normal temperament. And while that wasn't exactly good either, it was better than him being a raging bull and threaten to tear this place down. But he'd refrain, not wanting to have to wander off to some other awful human city. Besides, there were better ways to go about this. Like by being the Cantankerous Whore he was and it seemed to have proved fruitful. At the very least, it had seemed to catch the other demon off guard. He certainly didn't miss her checking him out after that little question he posed, nor did he try to reject the wandering eyes, simply being quiet and allowing her to get her fill. He was pretty proud of himself and it was probably painfully obvious. At her question, however, he smirked himself, taking a step forward to close the distance a bit more. "An invitation?" he questioned. "I was thinking more like a dare, but you are free to look at it any way you want." That was one 'good' quality about Vincent. Didn't matter how much he hated your guts, if you were even slightly attractive, he'd fuck you over in a way both would enjoy. It was a wonder he wasn't an incubus, really. He certainly was a promiscuous fellow with hardly any sense of shame. "You've got a shitty mouth and an even worse personality, but I think I could look past it enough to have some raunchy fun with you." he mused out loud as he looked her over again. Finally, the woman had a name to match the face. Sadly, she thought of a few more that would suit him better, but what did it matter? By the end of the night she’d probably just forget it, anyway. Then he would just be referred to as ‘that one guy I banged’. Not a bad thing for a demon, though. Some people tended to get attached to their one night stands and it usually ends horrendously. Feelings get hurt, then they get bitter, some petty revenge, yada yada yada. The usually crap that follows. Luckily, Ava has no problem with such things. It was true she could be a possessive, jealous wench, yet it never affected her with strangers. It pertained mainly to her twin sister, or someone she just so happened to care about. This guy? Yeah she didn’t give two shits about him. So chances are she won’t be the girl begging for late night cuddling—just wham, bam, thank you man.
Her index finger tapped her lips as she further questioned the opportunity laid out plainly in front of her. He was a bold, vain pain in the ass…which could prove to be interesting later on. Wait. Why was she even pondering this? The answer always came clear in her most primitive desires. Lust gushed through her veins, willing her to make the worst decisions that would later end wonderfully. Still, though. Had it been any other species she wouldn’t have hesitated, but he was a demon. For all she knew he could try to kill her right in the middle of it. Actually, that kind of sounds fun…..shit her reasonable side was not going to win this one.
When he took a step forward she uncrossed her arms and clicked the end of her scythe against the marble once more. “Well aren’t you sweet.” She replied in a dry tone dripping with sarcasm. She had found his last tid-bit to be more of a compliment than an insult. Shitty personality? Yeah, that was pretty accurate for the both of them. They were, by far, the worst people in the world that just so happened to be in the same room together. Something god awful was bound to happen.
For a moment she held her stern expression, caring very little about his wandering eyes. However, it certainly did not last long. Slowly her mouth twisted into a sly grin as a dangerous glint flickered within her silver eyes. “I suppose…” she muttered, reaching out in an attempt to grab his shirt collar. If he allowed she would pull him close enough to end the distance between them. “I could make you my bitch.” The intention to cause a dominance war was obvious to see just by the way she stared up at him tauntingly. Just a little fun to get the ball rolling.

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK ❝ HIS PRIMARY SKILL LIED IN HIS ABILITY TO PISS PEOPLE OFF, but he was also surprisingly good at attracting people as well, as twisted and illogical as it might have seemed. It was just one of the perks of having an attractive guise and the simple fact that he had a way with words that could coax people to do just about anything he wanted. It left people questioning their sanity after he had their way with them, sure, but he got what he wanted and often times he left them craving for more. It was why the demon hardly doubted his ability to court this filthy creature before him and gauging her reaction, he seemed pretty positive he'd already hooked her. Sweet? Him? Always. Underneath that rough and tough exterior he was just a huge teddy bear. One that could murder you at any moments notice like a child's worst nightmare but a teddy bear nonetheless. He smirked at the thought and soon after she'd end up dropping that dull and serious face for a grin that might normally send a shiver down a person's spine. It only seemed to perk the demon's interest though, always the one to try and play with fire, as if it weren't already obvious by the excessive amount of scars. In his musing though, he hadn't the chance to quickly react in time before she'd grabbed his shirt collar and managed to pull him in, ridding any sort of distance between them. He looked shocked only for a moment before grinning himself, flashing off that dangerous set of teeth in a wild smile. She thought she could make him the bitch? Now that was funny! At least she had a good sense of humor. "You can very well try." he taunted. Even without putting up much of a fight right now, it was pretty obvious that he himself was not one so easily tamed. She would likely run herself mad just trying to gain any form of dominance over him... but after that show earlier, she might be one to accomplish it. What a crazy thought, but one that interested him nonetheless. It wasn't very often he found someone who could actually challenge him. Maybe this could prove entertaining after all. "How exactly do you plan on doing that?" he decided to question, reaching around and getting a grip of his own by tangling his fingers in her hair. Everything just seemed to fall into place like so many times before. Except, this was a different scenario, a different occasion that was not like the rest. She had been around the block a few times before, but that was mainly work. When she wanted something she knew how to get it. Playing the part was easy enough, you just had to pretend to be the typical damsel. The ‘you’re so strong’ bullshit that made her gag every time she had to act it through. Everyone was all the same, they just wanted to be strong, and found themselves infatuated with the idea of ruling over someone lesser--Little did they know it was their undeniable weakness. So many countless fools fell for the batting eyelashes or the soft voice that screamed for protection. Not this time, however.
Ava didn’t need anything from this one, he was just a mere toy she chose to entertain her for the night. They were equal in intentions as well as intelligence, perhaps. There was no fake guise she had to wear, and all her strength would radiate wonderfully like it naturally did. Then, when it was all done and over with, they would walk away as unlikely friends. There was no fear of cutting loose ends that lingered on. Hatred and lust was all they would feel for each other after, the most honest emotions in life. Yet, this was diverging from the situation at hand.
The silent question that passed between the two was if she could rule him, which seemed to have an easy answer for Ava. Although, her ego began to inflate the moment she caught a slight slice of shock from his expression. So, she was just biased. To be realistic, there was a decent chance it could happen or a decent chance she’d get too carried away with the act. Depends on how much of a fight he was willing to give.
“If I told you it wouldn’t be much fun, would it?” She stated plainly, cocking her head to the side as she felt his fingers tangle in her hair. They always seemed to like going for the hair, didn't they? Anyway, her one hand kept a firm grasp on his collar, while the other began to disassemble her weapon with a simple flick of the wrist. “It shouldn’t be too hard--we are essentially the same. After a little while the old routine starts to get a bit stale.” The woman sighed dramatically, hooking the rod back onto her hip. “They submit, you conquer, the end. Even if they try to fight back it’s a futile attempt, or you let them think they win to be nice.” That was when the other side of Ava snapped on like a switch. Earlier her temper had been foul-mannered, but now her actions became almost feline. She moved against him fluidly, finding a perfect spot on his neck to target. Every part of her body was fully glued against his, including her devilish tail that had snaked tightly around his leg. If she could have purred she probably would have ever so stylishly. “But, when you find a power greater, if not equal, to your own…you won’t be able to resist.” Coyly, her fangs dragged against his skin until they suddenly sank down deep into his neck. Once she broke the surface she withdrew from her bite and pulled away from him slowly.
With a snap her demeanor changed once again, switching to something less promiscuous for the moment. “So… your place?” she asked calmly, while reaching to pull the cigarette out of his lips and back into hers. A deep inhale savored the nicotine rush, finding it almost as satisfying as the small ruby that trickled down to his collarbone. Yeah, the club wasn’t the best place for them to cause hell.
