[nospaces] A relieved sigh passed her lips as she hooked the last clothespin to the massive sheet of white paper. It had been a hard week filled with tests, work, more tests, and one amplifier that just didn’t want to cooperate. Normally the girl handled pressure like a champ, but that was not the case this time. For days she had been locked in a stress battle as well as a race against time to get everything completed. Several nights she had spent awake, and hours sitting in the shower didn’t seem to make anything better; she even took a chair in there…shit was really intense. On the bright side, though, it was Friday and the teen knew exactly what would make her feel better, a bunch of bright paint and an overly cheerful roommate.[break][break]
Kyne hopped off her ladder to inspect the giant canvas that was about the size of the wall. The art room was surprisingly spatial with a very kind teacher who let her borrow it after school hours. That and the small cans of neon colored paint she carried onto the plastic covering on the floor. The colors ranged from electric blue to neon green, everything and anything vibrant. They were the kinds of colors that got you excited when you looked that them, or made you think of raves. Don’t get her wrong, though, Kyne had no intention of going back to that kind of lifestyle…even if she missed it a bit.[break][break]
The girl placed the last can in position before wiping the excess paint on her faded jeans and plain white t-shirt. She had intentionally worn something she didn’t mind getting dirty in and had instructed her friend to do the same. Speaking of which, where was he? Light silverfish-blue eyes flicked over to the door, half wondering if she should punish him for being late. Most definitely, it wouldn’t be fun if she didn’t.[break][break]
A devious smile slipped across the girls face as she grabbed a brush and dipped it in hot pink colored paint. While doing so the sound of footsteps echoed down the hall, hinting that someone must be coming soon. This caused Kyne to quickly James bond roll over to the side of the door with her paintbrush in position. Outside she could hear footsteps gently walking up to the art room, and she held her breath to catch a wave of laughter in her throat. Her nerves prickled with excitement as she watched the handle jiggle. Then, the moment the door was pushed open, Kyne began her attack with a loud, “Gotcha!!” Her arm swept gracefully across her chest, and out as she whipped pink paint onto the unsuspecting person. | Stranger |

Earlier that day, he'd been warned to wear something that he wouldn't mind having ruined. The notion seemed silly -- who would purposely ruin clothing? But he chose to heed the warning. After class ended, he rushed back up to his dorm to search for something that he didn't mind sacrificing for the day. Honestly, it took a lot more time than he expected. Most of his clothing was, well, meant for school. After a bit of searching, he finally did find a black t-shirt and some jeans he'd be willing to throw away if need be. It hadn't taken him long to change fortunately, as he was trying to make up for lost time searching for clothes. After everything was said and done, he left his bag on his bed and only took his dorm room key, pocketing it after locking the door again. Surely Kyne had something fun planned for the afternoon. It wasn't too difficult to find the art room, given that his roommate had given him directions. He had no reason to go there before considering he hadn't taken an art class this year but hey, at least he'd be familiar with it if he chose so next year. Upon approaching the door, he wrapped his hand around the handle and turned. It's safe to say he didn't expect to be assaulted with paint as soon as he walked through the door. He raised his arms in a protective stance, and while most of the paint got on his forearms, a few specks did hit his shirt. It wasn't something he was too proud of but at least it wasn't a whole glob of pink paint that had landed. It would be a quick clean up. At least he hoped. Rowan walked over to the sink and took a few paper towels, wiping himself off. Then not long after that, he flashed his teeth in a smile as he turned his head to face his flaxen haired roommate. "Good afternoon to you too, Kyne." So was the point of this afternoon just to throw paint at one another? If that was the case... He walked over to where she was standing and tilted his head while looking at the canvas. Rowan wanted to make it look like he was preoccupied with something other than petty revenge. And once he thought he was clear enough, he dipped his index finger into the can of green paint and flicked some against his roommate's nose before laughing. He had to admit that it was pretty fun. It was good seeing her in such a lax mood. Anyone with eyes could see that she was obviously stressed out from the workload that came along with schooling. But hey, she made it through this week and that was great. It was just time to relax and have fun this afternoon. "So tell me, other than throwing paint at one another, what are we doing this afternoon, my dearest roommate?" Rowan was certainly curious. Certainly they wouldn't be just throwing paint at one another, right? That would just be silly and wasting paint. And on top of that, they'd be taking plenty of time in the shower to get cleaned off. But he'd been used to Kyne taking quite a bit of time in there. Heck she even took a chair in the past few days. Nevertheless, he waited, much like an elated child on Christmas Eve for her to tell him what would be going on this afternoon and why they had so much paint sitting around. ☆ OOC NOTESKyne MeloticMADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

[nospaces] Kyne grinned, feeling rather proud of herself for hitting her intended target. Although, Rowan wasn’t a hard person to miss. With his teal dyed hair, and tall stature he was pretty much a walking target, which was a blessing every time she needed to find him in a crowd. Last time she had lost him she nearly had a heart attack, and he had a terrible knack for getting himself into trouble. To say he was a bit naive was putting it lightly…But, most of the time he was a very cheerful lad who didn’t mind her teasing him on occasion, and overall she enjoyed his company far more than most other people she knew.[break][break]“No point in trying to wipe it off, kiddo. You’re probably going to be five difference colors by the time we are done.” She said, with her hands resting comfortably on her hips. Her idea of art, in her mind, was to get as spontaneous or messy as possible. Previously, when she did a project for Ms. Lotte she came back to the dorm covered in black ink from making prints. Ninety percent of that was actual work, and the other ten percent was just her putting on war paint for when she chased some guy around with a hammer. He was making fun of people’s art, and she just wasn’t going to deal with that shit…especially since he criticized hers so harshly. Psshhh, who was he calling mediocre? His face was mediocre….[break][break]“Hello, Benji!” Kyne chuckled as she wrinkled her nose in response to a small splash of green paint scattered across her face. She had been so lost in her previous thoughts that she never saw his little plot coming. “Well, we are going to be splattering paint onto this giant sheet of paper.” Her hand attempted to wipe away droplets on her face, but it did no good. Now the girl unknowingly had green paint smeared across her cheeks. “Which is just a tiny step up from throwing paint on each other, but y’know… It’ll be fun either way.” A shrug followed her words, and she moved over to grab another paintbrush in an electric blue can.[break][break]
Green stained hands firmly grabbed the handle of the brush as if it had been her sword or a bat. Then, with a slight exhale the girl swiftly stepped up to the paper and executed a downward slash. Blue paint scattered across the white canvas in a thin splatter, only getting a drop of two in her wild blonde hair. Afterwards, the teen took a step back to examine her work with a content nod. “See, Just like that. Now you give it a shot.” She turned and shot the other a bright grin, eagerly waiting to see him try it out. Meanwhile, her mind struggled to decide what color to choose next. Red, Green, Yellow, orange…so many possibilities.[break][break]“Oh, Sorry I haven’t been around much" She muttered, walking around while poking through the different cans that she gathered. “I got a bit busy. Has everything been going ok? No problems, yeah?”

Don't bother wiping it off? Uh-oh, that didn't sound promising at all. Did it mean she'd be throwing more paint at him? Hopefully not. But hey, if it made her happy, he'd simply grin and bear it. And although it wasn't much different from throwing paint at each other, the project or whatever one wanted to call it sounded fun. Artists in general had always been pretty quirky, even the ones he guided to the afterlife. All of them had unorthodox questions, but certainly thought out ones. But he was getting ahead of himself. She wanted to demonstrate what it would be that they were doing, so he directed his attention to that. The way she held the brush seemed pretty determined and quite frankly he was afraid that if he didn't pay attention, she'd be chucking it at his head or something. And he most certainly didn't want that. But when she splattered paint against the canvas by flicking the brush from a distance further off, Rowan couldn't help but feel a little curious. Is this what they called art? It seemed so... Simple, really. Almost like child's play. Still, she spoke up to let him know it was his turn to try something. And figuring he didn't want to change up the color just yet, he'd stick with blue. But... What would the fun be in being confined to a brush? More likely though, he'd probably send the brush flying along with the paint so he chose to take a different means of painting. Since they were splattering paint, wouldn't it be easier to do it without the brush? Without much thought, he dunked his hand into the paint can and gathered some, flinging it onto the canvas with a loud splat. For some reason, he had to admit he felt rather proud with what he had just done. "Well art is all about envisioning, right? It can be interpreted in various ways. Why confine ourselves to brushes when we're just going to get messy anyway?" he then paused to come up with an answer to her question. "Everything has been fine, but make sure to let me know how you are from time to time. I'm your roommate after all, and can't help but worry." Rowan thought he had a point there. Perhaps he did. A vague one, but it was still there. He had some paint on his hand but hey, it's not like it mattered. But he'd make sure to clean it off when they chose to go with a different color. That much only made sense so they didn't accidentally mix paints. At least with throwing paint, he could really get into the work, and that was the point of it, to forget the stress of the week and focus on something fun. Venting out any frustrations. Not that he had any really, but still, he liked really getting into activities. So with a grin, he turned to look at his flaxen haired roommate and gave a thumbs up signal. At least he was able to get that much right. "It's your turn again, it seems." He even threw in a nod as if confirming his own words. Rowan just wanted to see what she might have in mind, that is if she chose to change things up a bit and go with another style of painting here. Surely whatever she went with would look good though. ☆ OOC NOTESKyne MeloticMADE BY ★MEULK OF GS

[nospaces] Kyne quirked a brow, staring at him curiously as he dunked his hand in paint. Ah, so he meant to fling around paint with his hand? Great idea! Brushes were so limiting, anyway. Hands, on the other hand, were so much more natural. You could still get the desired splattering effect, while getting as messy as possible. It was the entire concept of the exercise, to create something marvelous with so much untidy simplicity. Although, it was a lie to say that most of Kyne’s ideas were simple. At some point there always was some kind of twist that kicked things up. It was how her mind worked, making the littlest things so damn complex. Yet, she needed to wait until the right moment to bring it out. [break][break] “Exactly, just go crazy! And, if you can guess the hidden meaning in the art when it’s done you get free dinner on me.” She grinned at him with one hand resting on the gentle curve of her hip. It was just an added bonus, there was no hidden meaning. It just gave the boy an opportunity to enjoy himself, while giving her an opportunity to skip on cooking. Burnt chicken was the last thing she wanted for dinner, and of all the things she was good at, cooking had to be the one thing that she sucked at. That wasn’t relevant though, what was relevant was the bright blue splatter she admired with her index finger pressed to her lips-A gesture she habitually did when lost in thought. [break][break] “I know….” She responded, flicking her warm, silver gaze over to the boy. It wasn’t in her nature to let others know when she was in a bind, especially not to him. He was just an innocent kid, and she intended to let nothing effect that. Not even her own history or troubles. This was her way of protecting him, keeping him thinking life was utter bliss when in reality it was anything but sunshine and rainbows. Slowly, the girl smiled, and reached out to affectionately ruffle his teal-colored hair. “You’re a good kid, Benji. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.” Her words seemed out of place, and anyone who knew her well enough would have known that response as a silent, ‘No.’ Kyne preferred to keep him running around in utter joy, not worrying about her minor life stresses. It made her feel better, and it was her weird way of showing she cared. [break][break] Ah, it was her turn, and she was happy that it veered from the previously awkward-ass topic. “Well….” She stared at the canvas blankly as she tried to figure out what to do next, but nothing came to mind without cheating….so she’d just cheat. “I guess I can use this.” The girl nodded before walking to a corner of the room to dig through her bag. After a minute or two, Kyne pulled out a round, orange balloon and threw it at the canvas, making an orange splat. Afterwards she pulled out more balloons, and rolled them to Rowan. She had something else in there, but that would be for much later when he was less likely to freak out. “So, nothing new with you? Usually you have so many questions to ask me.” She asked again, keeping the conversation rolling as she tossed another balloon towards him.
