BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on He couldn't sleep, no matter what he did or tired to do nothing seemed to be able to make the phoenix's mind go silent. He flopped about in his bed, put a pillow to his face, blankets over the head, pacing, he did it all. He even crawled into his roommates bed to see if the warmth of a second body could put him to ease and sleep. Sadly, not even the warmth produce by the other would settle him down.
Sitting up on the sofa, the dark phoenix clasped hands over his ears and closed his eyes almost painfully. He was so tired but he could hear voices in his head regardless of the fact that the school was dead silent. Rarely did this happen to him as he could block out other peoples thoughts even though he often mistaken others thoughts for his own at times. He still shouldn't be hearing someone in his head unless someone was awake. The voices came and then went away like a broken record before completely disappearing. At last, they where gone---someone must of finally fallen asleep but Iriel still could not rest.
Something was bothering him so much that it kept him awake. Yet,he couldn't put a finger on what the hell it could possibly be. A part of him wanted to stirr Neil from his sleep for some kind of comfort but that would be rude and selfish. No, he would let his friend sleep the guy did have some killer test to do tomorrow. Which left Iriel one last option, get the fuck out of the dorms.
Not bothering with shoes he went out the door in just a pair of sweat pants. He fiddled with a his long hair enough to flip it into a knot that would fall out during his walk outside. He didn't bother trying to tie his half locks after that but kept walking. He just felt like he needed to keep going and then maybe he would fall asleep somewhere. Even if it was on the bleachers, he wouldn't care. His aimless wondering took him to the soccer field where he promptly fell to the ground in defeat. He laid down on his back in the cold grass with arms outstretched.
"Why can't I sleep?" Whined the bird with a heavy sigh full of frustrations. Red eyes stared up into the starry night and groaned with a twist of his body he came to rest on his side. Ugh, now he was starting to hear voices again...or was it one voice? "Can't people shut up at night?"

Simply disgusting. Hisso. The school where superior beings learned to hide from humans more efficiently. Influencing younger greaters to lessen themselves. To never reach their potential. Best to lower themselves rather than ruffle the feathers of a lower race. Elsie's face soured as her mind wandered through such topics. The little girl was laying on her back upon the top seats of the bleachers, legs crossed as she looked up at the starry sky.
Why would anyone willingly want to hide? The child wondered, sincerely not understanding the concept. Her brows furrowed with a frown, she had spent almost the entirety of her human life underground hidden away from the world to be used as a grown man's play thing. To this day, her first time seeing the world beyond those walls, the sky, the vastness .... Why would someone willingly attempt to to stay underground? Even metaphorically. Why? Why give up the freedom to improve yourself and your conditions? A soft wind caused her blonde bobbed hair to dance as well as her dress. I don't understand. Why?
The child vampire's superior ears would catch the sound of another walking and would choose to ignore it. If the person didn't call out to her she wouldn't do the same. Not at this time. Right now she was allowing her mind to wander, considering why greaters would wish to keep their own kind down in this atrociously concepted school. There was an entire world out there, magics that haven't been unlocked, mysteries that have gone unsolved. So many questions. So much promise. And yet .... to decline all of that for the sake of coddling a self-destructive over populated species of swine.
"Why can't I sleep?"
Elsie's scarlet eyes blinked in recognition at the voice. It hadn't been that long ago. Turning her head upon the metal bleacher her eyes quickly targeted the individual in question. The sight stirring a grin. Aww, if it wasn't her naked little phoenix~
Hmmmmm ........ Those scarlet eyes wandered a moment before resting upon a bag full of practice soccer balls. There she would choose to set aside her ponderings temporarily and decided her plan of action.
~~~~ The little girl would kick the ball forward and giggle as she chased after it. Keeping her speed to what would be considered normal of a human child she "quickly" came to catch up to where the ball had rolled to a stop and began dribbling it forward. Europe was obsessed with this sport and she had played it enough times to know how to do so properly. Even in her mary jane shoes and dress her feet maneuvered the futbol with a sense of ease.
Elsie was more than aware of the young man's position on the field. But acting as if she did would not assist her conversational stance. She was but a child, yes? People were always much easier to manipulate if they were in the presence of assumed innocence. Let's lay it on thicker. What the hell?
Elsie right foot would slip upwards and with an adorable thump would land on her bloomered tush, sliding forward a bit as the ball continued to roll away. "Owwww." The little girl would mutter (slightly loudly for obvious reasons) in an adorable fashion as her bottom lip stuck out in a pout at her appeared failing.
BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Voices, voices, voices. So many voices floated into his skull but it was all one voice now. It was loud and then it was quite. It came in like a poor transiter radio that was full of static and gave him a little bit of a headache. The bird moaned softly and put a hand over his ears. This wasn't cool at all! All he wanted to do was sleep and not hear voices when he shouldn't.
Rolling over onto his other side just made him a bit grumpy. Hell, he even got a bit grumper when he heard a strange noise near by. Strange, no one should be out this late on the field and as that the sound of a ball? Ah, who cared. As long as they didn't come near him then he would be perfectly fine. He could just ignore them for sleep.
Iriel did not to turn on the sound of someone falling nor did he look at the ball that rolled past and then came to roll back again, resting on his head. He competely ignored it and when he heard the voice, it clicked. It was the same voice he had heard moments ago but vocal. Not to mention that voice clearly sounded familiar to him.
But the trouble was placing it and to place it he spared a look in her direction. A child. A small, blond, whiny child who looked familiar. Red eyes narrowed slightly before he put his head down and closed his eyes once again. Clearly, he was not impressed by her stunt.
"You're too loud and trying too hard." He called out and shifted again on the cool grass. Did he just call her out on her fakeness? Why, yes, yes he did the asshole. It seemed that when he was grumpy it would clearly show.
.... Elsie's head slowly turned to the living being that dared talk to her in such a way. Those scarlet eyes flashed with something malicious but only for a second. The boy didn't know who she was. Not yet anyways. She couldn't hold that against him while remaining the fair leader she so obviously was. Tsk tsk, no ....
The little girl rose to her feet after dusting off her dress. Walking over in a casual manner she would attempt to plop right onto the bird, using his chest as a seat. "So mean and rude." The child would say simply with the upturning of her nose and there she would wait, staring blankly into the starry sky. This pheonix had gained her attention the last time they had met. "What is 'Wie viele Menschen haben Sie benutzten auf'?" He had asked.
She was an aged being. Elsie had witnessed many strange events over her extended life and met quite a few that could accomplish dazzling feats. With an apathetic face she'd turn to glance at the phoenix out of the extreme corners of her eyes. His question, this Iriel's question, had sparked some thought from her side of the pond through out the past few days. If her inkling was correct ... Elsie's scarlet eyes continued to stare at the young man's facial features and waited for him to "return" patiently ... He would make a valuable caged bird.
~~~~~~
(((In seeing that Iriel is only wearing pajama bottoms I'm assuming his memory ability will be triggered with Elsie sitting upon his bare chest coughsuchpedocough. If the writer is correct in this assumption Iriel will see the following memory. If the writer is not correct, please ignore the following words~)))
Elsie drew the knife across the palm of her hand without so much as a moment's hesitation. Libitina would respect this group's customs of entry. There was no reason not to. This was a business transaction after all. As Elsie's blood began form upon her small youthful hand she reached forward and slowly dragged it along the ice cold metal of the gun in front of her. When completed she couldn't help but admire the gun a moment. Dried stains upon it from years time of oaths such as hers, the little girl's being the most prominent because the recent shedding. The red glistened really.
1) "Well, sorellina." Elsie's eyes glimpsed up to thickly Italian voice across the table. "Welcome to the family." The Black Hand. Five men all in expensive suits. Representing five families. Bonanno, Colombo, Gambino, Genovese and Lucchese. The Prohibition Era was the reason Elsie had returned to this country, even if just for a short time. When a country makes a largely financially profitable substance such as alcohol illegal you introduce the birth of larger underground workings. And she would be a complete idiot to not take advantage of it. The money alone not to mention the networkings.
Elsie smiled back, her voice laced with a delicate soft Italian accent of her own that she had found wise to use. After all, you weren't welcome if you weren't Italian. 2) "Grazie, signori. It will be a pleasure to do business with you." As glasses of wine in expensive glasses were brought out a similar glass was brought to the seemingly nine year old girl as well.
"To a long and prosperous partnership." Even Al Capone had made it a point to travel from Chicago for this one. All the men rose their glasses as Elsie rose hers elegantly. 3) "Eternamente." And with that they all rose them to their lips, Elsie's scarlet eyes closing at the familiar liquid reaching her tongue and going down her throat. Sure, it was a tad on the cold side. But it was the thought that counted. Rather sweet of them honestly. Lowering the glass she licked her lips ... O positive. Charming
Italian --> English Translations:
1) Well, little sister. 2) Thank you, gentlemen. 3) Eternally.

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Iriel was in one of his rare foul moods. He rarely was ever ill tempered or annoyed but tonight he was full of those emotions. He couldn't sleep, he was a bit cold, and most of all he was utterly fustrated because he didn't know why he couldn't rest. Neil usually made a great pillow and his warmth normall knocked him out when this happened. Iriel's brain reached for some kind of answer and the only thing he could think of was this nine year old vampire.
The last memory he pulled from her stuck with him and it bothered him. He didn't know the words she spoke but her actions had been loud enough to stay. She wasn't your average nine year old and who knew how old she really was too. There something about her that bothered him and interest him in the same time. But his unrest state could also be contriubte to other things that caused him stress. Bullies, water, and the ability to hear too many voices at once. His filter was all kinds of broken tonight.
"I merely want to sleep and that is hardly mean or rude." He commented with closed eyes and hands moving through his hair. Maybe he should invest in sleeping pills when things like this happened although it wasn't often.
Taking a deep breath he figured the small thing was going to move along when he heard moved. He hadn't been perpared for the sudden weight on his chest and believe it or not, it startled him. Red on black orbs shot open and his tattooed hands came to rest on her pair legs, mostly out of reaction to the weight. That was a bad idea.
In a instant, he was gone mentally again and seeing things he didn't want to see. He stood beside Elsie's past self and watched the scene play out like a ghost. The language was lost to him and the events he didn't understand. Looking over to the girl he cringed lightly as she sliced into her own flesh.
Glancing around the room he tired to gather small facts about this time period as this one did look a bit familiar to him. Yet, still the facts where lost to him and he went back to viewing the scene of the small child speaking and what appeared to be doing some kind of deal? Before any of it could fully settle on him he "returned" to his current situation.
Iriel laid there while staring up at the vampire with a blank experssion that reflect in both eyes and face. Slowly, his brows knitted together in clear confusion. "Eternamente..." He felt he should know that word and after a moment it clicked together. "Italian?" Shaking his head lightly he did his best to push that memory out of his head quicker then usual. Now, he felt even more tired then before.
Tattooed hands tightened around her legs for a brief moment and then loosened. "Get off." Or maybe it would be better if she stayed? If he had a constant contact with someone then he would no longer pick up on a memory but if she pulled away and touched him again he would see another scene. Talk about being in a rock and hard place. He told her to move and yet, his hands remained on her small legs. A part of him no longer wished to be in contact and the other wanted her to stay to avoid seeing anything else.

A smile slithered across her lips at seeing the young man's stare go blank for a small amount of time. A high pitched pleasureful sigh escaped between the fingers of the small hand that had risen to her mouth. "How I adore when I'm right." The "Eternamente..." and "Italian?" snapped the little girl out of her self-created bliss and would return her features to innocence, blinking those big doe eyes at him.
Get off, hm? The child vampire's eyes didn't bother flickering down to where his hand was upon her legs, she could feel it. You want me to go away, but you leave your hand upon me in a non-shoving manner. The right corner of her lips rose an inch, determining his situation to the best of what her almost 600 year lifespan had to offer.
"Hm? O-oh, sure!" The little girl rose to her feet as if she were flustered. If the phoenix did nothing to inhibit her actions she would step outside of his range of grabbing and the following would take place. "Sorry," Elsie would begin, straightening her dress's skirt as she lied with the ease of cutting through melted butter, "I hope I didn't hurt you. I was just excited to see you again."
In her well performed and completely bullshit-ed ruffled manner her left foot would twist, causing her to trip with a cute "oops" and would aim to collapse back upon the young man as he hopefully continued to lay down. If she were successful in all of these shenanigans she'd aim to see the bird's face go blank again. Just one more time. She knew she was right. This time was just to be a dick.
~~~~~
1) "Mein Freund," A delicately ringing feminine laughter caused the little girl's eyes to dart to the side to see the elegantly dressed and beautiful woman enter in the room, "du bist so süß, wenn du zu ernähren."
2) The little girl took one more swallow before smiling back to the woman, "Und du schöne heute aussehen wie immer, Erzsébet." Elsie's hand would move to grab her meal's hair and jerk the chained teenage girl's head to the side at a painful intensity. "Nach Hause kam früh wie ich sehe." And would violently dig her teeth into the brunette's neck, the hand gripping her hair keeping the struggling and screaming to a minimum as she drank with no interest in lightening up on her excruciating intensity.
3) "Mmmmm, ja." The woman sighed with complacency as she undid her robe and allowed it to fall onto the floor. Not wanting to go into details over the duties that had been required of her as a Countess she stepped daintily into the grandly carved bath. "Ich bin dankbar, dass Sie meiner Badewanne allein gelassen."
4) The little girl rose from the teenager's neck with a gasp, finally breathing in between gulps. "Natürlich." The vampire licked her lips of the access blood and smiled, a sincere "happy to see you" smile, "Es wäre unhöflich."
5) The woman laid down into the tub slowly, smiling back to the little girl she had grown so fond of over the years. They had been together well over a decade now and they simply adored each other. Sincerely. It was a friendship neither had ever experienced before. It didn't replace Elsie's sir .... god how she missed that pureblood. But for now, a friend is all she wanted and she had indeed found a kindred soul in this woman. "Meine entzückenden jungen Freund?" The woman asked as she lowered herself slowly into the fully filled tub. "Möchten Sie einen lieben, und schalten Sie den Flow?"
6) Elsie released the grip on the hair and began to walk towards the tub. "So bedürftig," She joked as she easelessly jumped upon lip of the tub and with her superior abilities easily kept her balance in walking along its perimeter. "Bekomme ich erste Kostprobe?"
7) The woman sighed as she lowered herself deeper into the red substance, "Ja, ja. Nur nicht irgendwelche von ihm in meinem Haar zu bekommen."
8) "Ja, ja." Elsie joked back as she reached up with the knife she had grabbed from the near by counter. Placing the knife onto the gagged blonde twenty year old's throat she didn't wait a moment before slicing it deeply. Being hung upside down, the twenty year old's body shuddered in gurgles as the blood flooded down her face and began dripping into the bath below much to the woman's smiling delight. Elsie rose onto her tiptoes with an inhuman balance upon the tub's lip and licked upwards upon the blonde's cheek with a smile of her own. The brunette still chained on the floor was in the process of blacking out from the brutal feeding where the blonde continued to spasm until she stopped moving. And Elsie took another lick.
~~~~~
When Iriel would "return" she would be leaning over him with a greatly amused and pleased smile. "Something the matter?" She would ask with a false innocence and kindness.
Due to the ungodly amount of German in this thread I broke it up into paragraphs instead of each phrase to make it easier on both reader and writer @_@
1) My friend, .... you are so cute when you feed. 2) And you look lovely today as always, Elizabeth. Returned home early I see. 3) Mmmmm, yeah. I appreciate that you didn't touch my bath. 4) Naturally. It would be rude. 5) My adorable young friend? Would you be a dear and start the flow? 6) So needy. Can I have the first lick? 7) Yes, yes. Just don't get any in my hair. 8) Yes, yes.

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Those red eyes could do nothing but glare at the small vampire. She was trying to act so sweet while sitting on top of him and he wasn't sure if he believed that act. From what he had seen mentally, he wasn't sure what to think of the small child who clearly wasn't a child at all. She unsettled him even though she had done nothing to him but use him as a sofa. A sigh of relief came out of him once she apologized and moved off of his chest. Releasing his hold on her he hoped that she would now keep her distance.
It wasn't like he hated the vampire he was just uncomfortable with her sitting on him and giving him memories. He didn't like his powers and he didn't like viewing people and what they had done. It was like being a rather nosey neighbor, a rather rude one. Though, Elsie seemed to enjoy seeing him blank out as it were.
Finally, having a moment to himself he put his hands over his eyes and rubbed them. "It's okay. I'm just very tired tonight and I am in no mood for your games." He stated softly. Cracking his eyes open again he had enough time to react to her fake fall by reaching out to steady her. He should of just rolled and let her eat grass but his kindness acted out before his irritation. She smashed into his chest and his hands held her by the arms. At that moment, he was gone again mentally and thrust into another memory.
He had no idea the location, timeline, or what the hell was going on here. Glancing around, he assumed he was in some kind of bathroom or at least a part of it? Slowly, he walked in the memory until the ghostly figures sprung to life and nearly startled him. There was Elsie with some woman and a teenage girl. It didn't take him more then a mere second to know where this was going and he watched in horror as the teen became a violent meal.
The words that came out of the females, he once again could not understand. It was a language that he did not know but he knew the origin by accent of the words. The language though was the least of his worries. The room suddenly smelled heavy of blood to the point that he was positive he could taste it in this memory.
He wanted to say something to the girls speaking and before he even could fathom anything the teenagers death came quickly. Iriel had never experienced, heard, or seen such violence in his young life. Watching the girl die like a pig at a slaughter house did something to him that he couldn't explain. His stomach twisted in knots, he felt ill--almost feverish. Is this what vampires did to their meals or was it just her? The ones he experienced so far had been kind and did not harm who they ate from. This wasn't humane, this wasn't anything like he had thought it would be. Sure, he knew she might feed on the girl but this? This was insane!
"Fuck..." The stench increased as did the sounds of the girl dying by drowning in her own blood to fill a bath. This wasn't good, his vision was blurring and he was back into reality. Iriel was a huge horror fan and enjoyed gore movies and the like. But the difference between his movies and the reality of it was that it was fake. The actors survived, the blood was corn syrup, and in the end no one suffered in reality. But this violent death was real, the blood was real, the scent, everything.
The moment Iriel came too, his red eyes grew large as dishes and Elsie was flung off his body when he turned to roll over on his stomach and push himself up to some kind of position off the ground. It was then that he lost the contents of his stomach and found it difficult to breath let alone think clearly.
His body was in a cold sweat and that feeling of illness did not pass, it stuck with him as did the smell and horrible dream. That was something his injured mind would not be forgetting anytime soon. It felt like the image was burned into his brain forever and he willed it to go away. He repeated to himself in a soft whisper for it to go away and leave his head. He was not one for violence and clearly did not like the idea of death even though he had died in the past. He would always be reborn and this girl would not. She would remained dead.

Elsie's childish form was thrown easily from the young man. With a flash within her eyes her right hand snapped downwards to keep herself from striking the ground, her palm skidding across the grassy terrain. However in a split decision she allowed the arm to buckle and collapsed, rolling twice before coming to a stop. She wasn't entirely sure if keeping up appearances would assist in her situation but it was always best to be safe than sorry.
Though the sound of vomiting made it clear the phoenix wasn't paying the slightest attention to her regardless. The child vampire would rise into a sitting position and watched as Iriel would heave and lose every content within his stomach. Elsie's head would tilt to the side as she whistled lowly in amusement. "You saw a beaut, didn't you?" She mouthed silently with a smirk hidden behind a hand. Yep, she'd been right about this kid. He was seeing her past. Or perhaps future? Memories even? There were possibilities she was still not even considering. Regardless of specifics, this kid was seeing something. And that last one was so powerful it caused him to get sick.
A student. At the academy she was there in the country to begin with. A phoenix who can always be reborn if killed. With at least one kind of ability that was worth catching her interest in resourcefulness.
Mine. Elsie's smirk fell from her face as she got serious, getting back into character. Mine.
"L-look." The little girl began, weaving the words upon her tongue with precision and purpose as Iriel finished making his mess upon the soccer field. "You're obviously sick or something right now so I'm going to leave you alone. I just --" Elsie slowly rose to her feet with an embarrassed air about her. "I'm not good at this."
The child's cheeks flushed as she almost angrily looked to the side if she went uninterrupted, "I haven't been completely honest with you. I'm ... a vampire." She admitted with a well performed shame. "I came to this country to ... to get a fresh start. To "turn over a new leaf"."
If Iriel were still facing away from her she would walk cautiously to stand in front of him still keeping her distance. However if he had turned to look her way, she would stay where she was. Either situation, she would look up from her shamed aversion to attempt to meet any gaze of his. "I'm trying to ... become a better person. And you were the," Elsie would choke on a saddened chuckle before continuing, "you were the first friend I made here. I haven't had friends for ... I don't even remember how long." The child would open her mouth to continue ..... but would shake her head and close her jaw.
.... And would pull something from her dress skirt's pocket. "I saw this and ... thought you might like it." She'd say as she looked down at her hand with a highly embarrassed tint to her features, speaking softly in an almost whisper. "Though you probably don't and hate it or -- or something. I mean --" And would stop herself to take a deep breath in what appeared to be a manner in relaxing herself from a growing anxiety.
Those scarlet eyes would look up from her hand, her blonde bangs dancing upon her eyelashes, "I'm trying, okay? I guess, if you like it you can wear it. If -- if you don't, just leave it in the grass." It would be at this time her bottom lip would tremor at a noticeable frequency as she'd sniff, wiping her nose with her hand immaturely. The being with the appearance of a nine year old took a few shy steps forward before kneeling down and placing the black crocheted necklace upon the grass closer to the phoenix before standing and turning her back to him. "I hope you feel better ......." And would begin to walk away, hugging herself tighter with every step.

it's dangerous, i'm fallen. There's no escape, I can't wait. ▼ NOTES: notes here, tagged, word count, whatever else. | Riding out the waves of nausea was not fun in the slightest. His gut hurt, his throat hurt and he felt like he was going to choke. It took a good moment for Iriel to even catch his breath and not feel like complete and utter shit. That was one memory that was not going to abandon his brain as much as he would love it too. Putting a hand to his mouth he tired to think of happier thoughts. Kittens. Kittens where cute. Misha was cute. Neil was cute. Fuck. Closing his eyes, he cleaned his lips off and just left his head hanging while resting on his hands and knees.
He had never gotten that ill before from seeing a memory but he had never experienced a memory of death or at least, not like that. It was so fresh, so vivid, so---oh his stomach. He stayed that way and his attention turned away from his thoughts when a small voice sounded out in the darkness. He didn't look at the tiny vampire but merely listened to what she had to say.
She was a vampire? Well no fucking shit! He would of never of guessed that from what he had just seen currently. But still, her words came out softly and he could hear the emotion in her voice. Even though he felt like complete and utter shit he took it her word seriously. Slowly, he pushed himself into a sitting position with his arms resting on his bent knees. His head was still hung low from feeling ill.
She went on with her words and Iriel listened silently. He wasn't really sure what to think on the matter. After all, he was judging her wasn't he? Judging her on something in the past and not long ago she did cut off a choking ring around his neck that he couldn't remove himself as a bird. So, there was that too look at as well.
Really, it wasn't fair, was it? She claimed to be turning over a new leaf and now he felt like complete shit--more so ten he all ready did. She was harmless, she hadn't done anything wrong to him since he came across her in the park. Yet, he felt so weary of her it was horrible.
With the collar being placed beside him he glanced down at it. It was an awfully pretty thing and who knew where she got it from or what it might of cost. A soft, tired, and frustrated sigh came from him. "I'm sorry." He let out and held his head in pain. "I'm fine and I'm just...just really tired and...I don't know. Just.." Just what? he hadn't a clue what to say to make her feel any better at all.
But it couldn't hurt to accept the gift right? He was being a jackass and she was only trying to be his friend. Another sigh came out of him. "It's a pretty choker, thank you. I do like it." He commented while picking it up to hold it in his hand. He carefully lookd it over and turned towards her. "If it makes you feel any better...I'll be more then happy to wear it as an apology for being kind of a jerk...and getting sick..." Rubbing his tired face he then added. "But, I think you might have to help...I think Im a bit too tired to put it on right." he offered her a sweet smile of apology in hopes of fixing his error.

"I'm sorry."
With her back still to the phoenix she stopped, her gaze rising from the ground (from giving the illusion of crying and sadness) back up to look across the soccer field and over the skyline .... and would smile. She allowed her form to shiver slightly, keeping up the illusion to the young man behind her in case he was looking. But for anyone that was seeing her from the other side could tell she was anything but mournful. Amusement and pride. That was showcased upon her lips right now.
At hearing Iriel compliment the choker she replaced the mask back upon her face as she turned ever so slightly to look his way with a well performed shy air. She'd allow one hand to quickly wipe at her eyes before replacing the hand back into her comforting self-hug. You know, wiping away the non-existent tears that had (not) been there, keeping up the illusion. Of course you know, reader. Of course you know.
"If it makes you feel any better...I'll be more then happy to wear it as an apology for being kind of a jerk...and getting sick... But, I think you might have to help...I think Im a bit too tired to put it on right." Ohhhh, that kind smile the phoenix then gave her. He's already mine.
Elsie sniffled once more before sheepishly nodding and stepping forward. Though he needs to put it on himself ... The child vampire would mirror the smile he was presenting her and added a slight tremble of the bottom lip. "You're very nice. Thank you ..." And with the bird just inches away from activating the metaphorical spring trap Elsie handled every motion with precision to carefully avoid touching the phoenix directly. With such a goal in mind she reached into her other dress skirt's pocket to pull out a pair of frilly gloves that went along with the dainty lolita look her outfit gave. If inquired over that action, she would snifflingly insist it was because the chilled air was making her a tad cold.
Now with her skin no longer showing (and with her limited mindset that his ability was activated through skin to skin touching only) her freshly gloved hands reached to pick up the the black necklace from the phoenix. With a silent inhale she draped it on him as she pulled the ends back. Usually in such a situation images of yanking the ends back in order to strangle the being would dance through her mind but not now. She was focused now. "Here," The little girl said, "I'll show you how to put it on. The saleslady said it was a bit tricky ..."
Biting the inside of her left cheek, knowing full well that the collar's spell required Iriel to put in on himself willingly, she would attempt to get the Phoenix to play along and would then lead his fingers to fasten it himself. If she were successful in this task, and the necklace was fastened to his throat, the following would happen.
Elsie .... would take a deep breath as she came around to face him, lowering to her knees in an adorable fashion. "Awww," She'd gasp lightly, her fingers coming to rest against her cheeks in a sense of kawaiiiiiii, "forgive me but I was right. You look great in it." And would move her right hand towards him in a "oh, let me straighten it out for you" manner. And she would indeed straighten out the necklace if her actions were uninterrupted but would then grip the uniquely colored tourmaline stone with her index and thumb. With a non-human speed, she then ripped it from its place setting and would watch as a darkened aura wave would spring from it, running to engulf Iriel's form before seeping through his skin and disappearing from visual sight.
Again, if all of this occurs, Elsie would continue to grip the gem in her right hand as her left would raise up to pat Iriel's cheek in an almost patronizing way, "Ohhhh, poor bird with one's wings clipped,"
"I lied." The little girl would state bluntly as a large smile dripping with hilarity immediately distorted her lips and a hushed child's laughter erupted into the still night air.
| OOC: Iriel Parker Also, I couldn't find a way to mention this in the post itself because it would disrupt the flow. The gloves were recently purchased so to my humble knowledge they shouldn't activate his memory thingy. Unless you want him to see the boring scene of her purchasing frilly gloves from an American boutique. The world is your oyster~

it's dangerous, i'm fallen. There's no escape, I can't wait. ▼ NOTES: tis all good. I assume Iriel cant pick up on anything on the item since its magical in nature and not a normal object. Go me. | AS time ticked away Iriel was getting much more tired and frustrated. He wanted to sleep and had half a mind to go back to his dorm and curl up against Neil. His wolf roommate produced enough heat to keep the bird cozy but all the noises in the dorm was enough to drive him bonkers. Hopefully, before the night was thru all those voices would disappear. He really wished he had an off switch for his abilities sometimes.
With another sigh, Iriel fingered the choker between his fingers and inspected it while the small girl came back towards him. It was truly beautiful and the craftsmanship was unbelievable but the stone in the center was far more lovely then the collar. It fit right into the design even though something felt a bit off about it. Iriel contributed that awkward feeling to be tired and thought nothing more of it.
Again, a faint voice entered his tired mind, he heard parts of the sentence but not all of it. It sounded like it came from a tunnel. "...put it on himself." He mistaken that as an actual verbal sentence and replied to it. "Sorry, I can put it on but its awkward." He admitted and then lost focus on the things around him. He hadn't even notice her taking the necklace to rest against him or how she even got there. In short, it startled him awake.
Keeping his attention focused on the necklace he watched as the small vampire showed him how to do it. Once that was done he took the necklace and willingly put it on himself. In hindsight, if he had known what was about to happen by doing this he would of burnt the necklace in an instant. But because he was completely ignorant the necklace was snapped into place. He was surprised how light it was around his neck, it felt like he didn't even have it on for a moment. "Thank you." He spoke with a small smile.
It was at that moment that something occurred to him. Strange, he normally picked up memories from people but also items. For some strange reason, he didn't pick up anything on this necklace. Was it because it was brand new and never warn? Or was there something else about it. His answer soon came when the stone was yanked off. That light feeling no longer existed. The necklace felt as heavy as a rock for a good ten seconds.
Wide eyed and uncertain he looked towards the little vampire in surprise. "What?" What did she mean by that? His wings weren't clipped the last time he checked. What was she lying about? Did it have to do something with that strange feeling just then?
"I don't understand." Confusion crossed his features as the girl just busted into laughter like some kind of cartoon villain. Clearly, he missed something here. Furthermore, why did she take the stone from his necklace, that was rude.
Details. Details. Details. If he had been more awake he might of noticed them. His observation skills were normally quite excellent. It took him a moment to realize that something was terribly not right. "You did something..." Black on red eyes narrowed dangerously. Somehow, she played him and Iriel knew it but not to what extent and that pissed him off.

"Aww, you're so cute when you're confused." The little girl would giggle, bringing up her hand to tussle the phoenix's black hair. "On the contrary, I did nothing. You however," The same gloved hand would trail through his hair trace down his cheek to rest upon his chin. "You just signed your life over to me." And would lean forward to whisper in his ear, wanting to fuck with him just a tad. After all, this was her new toy. What point would there be if she couldn't have fun with him, "I own you now."
In motions that were quick she would pinch the young man's cheek (this is of course if she goes uninterrupted) before jumping (or being shoved honestly <.<) backwards. "Isn't that wonderful?" She would sing, as she hopped from one foot to another with a greatly amused spring, staying on the balls of her feet.
She had collared enough living beings through out the decades and centuries to know to expect some kind of retaliation. It was always after the first attempt of violence that she showcased what the collar's true extent of power was. It seemed to have the most impact that way to the pet.
So for now she would continue laughing to herself so obviously in regards to the "little" phoenix. Even proving that he was the focus of her amusement by pointing at him occasionally. "Are all of your species slow? Or is it just you?" Specifically egging him on make sure the full extent of his situation would be understood. Til then, Elsie's scarlet eyes would dance in a studious fashion, prepping for a quick response for when it came.

it's dangerous, i'm fallen. There's no escape, I can't wait. ▼ NOTES: tis all good. I assume Iriel cant pick up on anything on the item since its magical in nature and not a normal object. Go me. | His glare was so great that it was quite possible that if he had the power to make herself combust, he would. Unfortunately, his fire ability wasn't that epic enough to do such a thing. So he settled for trying to not be a violent man. He was on the edge all ready with his built up frustration, lack of sleep, and now lack of patience. He had tired to do the right thing and look past what he had seen when he should of known better. He should just walked away and went back to bed.
Fuck that shit, he just had to be the good guy and this is where it got him. Stuck with this little bitch touching his hair and face. He didn't like it. Pulling his head back he promptly smacked her hand away from him. He was in no mood for her games. "Don't talk to me like I'm a pet." Those words came out in a growl that was unusual for the bird. He was never actually angry or temperamental. "You don't own me or any par of me for that matter."
Again, he smacked her hand away when she tired to pinch his cheeks. She was egging him on and it was working much to his own displeasure. The bird stood with clinched fist and doing his best to keep himself from cracking. He tired counting backwards, reasoning with himself but none of it seemed to cool his head.
It didn't take much more for the her to break the camel's back. Iriel hated to be referred to as stupid, ignorant, and slow. Yes, his memory was his down fall and he was at times slower then most but still, it pissed him off. Maybe it was best if he scared the little vampire.
He would of argued with himself normally about his next action but with how he was currently feeling and the lack of sleep, he just snapped. In an instant a single sai formed in his clinched fist. With a single twist of a well trained thumb the weapon went from defense to offense with the Tsuka resting under his index finger and the monouchi against his arm. It took him only two steps to be in her rang, a single thrust was all he needed to bash her in the face with his weapon of choice, if he was able to make the hit.
But the look on her face made him realize that he might of just fucked up and let his temper get the better of him. However, it was too late and the attack was all ready launched.

There it was.
Elsie's smile widened as the phoenix not only took her bait but showcased a new ability. Ohhh, that will be useful. But she didn't have the leisure to consider all those possibilities at this precise moment. Sure, the bird wasn't as fast as she was but it wouldn't be wise to be completely lax when a man was charging at her with a weapon drawn.
"Stop." She said with a clarity and power that could send a crack traveling down a glass pane. Her eyes never leaving any gaze that might come from the phoenix. Giving an order to a newly collared being, she knew what was to come. And she would watch through out the entirety of the scene. If the phoenix would continue to close the distance between them the child vampire would merely take lazy steps backwards to avoid any attempt at strikes.
For now she would keep it to one command only. No reason to kill the poor boy or cause a black out sending another chap into a comma. Elsie would merely continue to lazily step backwards if need be while watching the phoenix most assuredly struggle with the collar's power.

it's dangerous, i'm fallen. There's no escape, I can't wait. ▼ NOTES: ---- | That strange feeling of something going horribly wrong was about to come true. He had only take a few quick stabs towards her and those steps covered some ground. It happened in instant, there was a hesitation settling into him, it was seriously unexpected. It took the bird by surprise when his muscles suddenly paused in their actions. How did that even work? He hadn't stopped just because she told him because he sure as hell didn't want too! Yet, here he was, hesitating in his motions of a strike.
Confusion slapped him straight in the face like a steel glove. Yet, even though she ordered him to stop his motions he shoved her order away and pushed forward. His arm extended towards her face as she backed way. That was when he experienced something very new and very unwanted. Scratch that, extremely unwanted. It started off as a discomfort and as he pressed forward it grew at a steady space moving from discomfort to pain. Three more steps and the pain radiated from around his neck and coursed throughout his body as if someone had just taken a taser and shoved it into his neck.
The poor bird went down on his knees in pain. His sai that he once held deconstructed into nothing as both hands went to his neck. He worked his fingers into the choker and pulled as hard as he could to relieve the feeling but it did nothing to relieve him. Nor did the necklace even budge against his skin and all he managed to do was scratch into his own flesh with his nails.
Iriel hissed in pain and bit his own tongue in order to keep his cries silent. The pain lasted for a good moment and then faded away as he no longer moved towards his target. With his breath taken away all he could do was huff and puff the air to help his nerve endings feel not so burnt. "The fuck was that?" He finally managed to get out. A second later, he realized what happened. The goddamn necklace was the cause of this shit. It caused him to obey her and it caused him pain when he refused her word.
Glaring eyes returned to the small vampire with hate. He wanted to demand her to take it off but he all ready knew she wouldn't and thus there was no need to voice that demand. Iriel suddenly felt very small in the world. He got himself into some nasty shit and he didn't see a way out of it if he couldn't hurt her either. Dropping a hand to the ground to stablize himself he felt a rock beneath his palm. As childish as it might of been, he took it and threw it as hard as he could at her small form in retaliation. It wouldn't do much but it sure as hell made him feel better.
"Once I get out of this necklace, your ass is mine." He was no ones pet and the mere idea of it disgusted him even worse then what just happened to him. He hadn't even thought about what might happen with him stuck obeying her or where those commands might lead him. But he was going to find a way out of it...somehow.
Now he just had to find out how to get out of it and he had a small feeling it might have to do something with the stone she took from the choker. However, he did have to wonder what was even the point of collaring him and not some other person that had useful skills that were far superior then his own? |
