Stooped down and out You got me begging for thread Nevyne walked meekly down the deserted and dimly lit hallway of the school. When the day began the building was bursting with life, students rushing to their next classes or leaning against the lockers. Next to the art room was her class filled with twenty or so little birds of all shapes and melodies. Some of them had a voice that could melt ice with sweet, soft tones. Then some sounded harsher, jagged around the edges in just a way that felt like sandpaper against your soul. Each of their distinct songs delighted her, and when put together they brought a peace to the caged avian she had once been. Yet, to go from a day filled with students singing, to a night cloaked in utter silence was somewhat discomforting to her. It made her almost regret taking the extra time writing up lesson plans way after closing hours. Oh well, it could not be helped.
The ends of her ember-colored skirt swept across the floor, trailing behind her as she walked along empty classrooms. Every one of their doors remained shut except for one particular room, which she found rather suspicious. The woman slowed her footsteps as she neared the end to almost a cautious creep. Her first instinct was to just close the door and move on without thought. It was a silly thing to be frightened by an empty room. Except, that particular empty room echoed a loud crash from within- something that sounded like a metal being struck together.
Startled from the clamor, Nevy immediately backed away for a moment before setting her books down on the floor. Then, she nervously tugged at the ends of her white blouse and continued on through the opened classroom door. She wanted to know, out of pure curiosity, who could still be wandering around the academy. Maybe it was just another teacher staying after, too? It was a plausible explanation; However, when she entered there was just a lecture room filled with upturned desks and chairs, as well as a single open window.
Nev drifted over to the far center, surveying the cluttered scene with uncertainty. ‘What happened here?’ She thought to herself before noticing a cold draft tugging at the strands of her dark red hair. A few chills crept down her spine, and she decided it was best to shut the windowpane first so nothing could climb in. That is, if something hadn’t already climbed in. The thought made her shudder, and she quickly turned to race out the door. But, before she could make it halfway across the room the lass slammed into a solid figure. “Sorry!” She shrieked as she stumbled back, not paying any attention to the overturned chair behind her feet. With a loud crash the girl fell to the floor along with several other desks around her.

I FEEL ALIVE WHEN I'M WITH YOU She hadn't expected her day to be as bad as it had been today. She was clumsy, sure, but today was really bad. Her 'darker' personality was starting to slip through. She had absorbed too much of the negative emotions and auras of those around her and now it was showing. Her black wings stood out in the classroom as the snapped out, causing the air and area around her to jostle violently and a huge crash around her as the wind created from the outburst of her power upturned desks and chairs, making her amber eyes glow slightly from the rush of power within her body. She had been good about keeping it under wraps, but today, as stated before, was a bad day for Evangeline. Flashes of memories from long ago flashed through her mind. She saw a boy and a man, both smiled at her, but the vision got fuzzy. She had heard of angels remembering bits and pieces of their past lives, but this was not something she had experienced this suddenly or this violently. She felt lingering feelings of sadness when she remembered their faces. Who were they? Why did she remember them? She wouldn't know until much later. She patted her plaid red skirt as she straightened her vest. The impact had also jostled her short sleeved white shirt and her vest. She wore a tie under the vest, it was black. She wore her knee-high laced up black boots with her red and black stripped socks that showed just above her knee.
Snapping her attention forward, Evangeline rushed towards the window, wanting to take flight and run away, but she realized she should own up to her mistake. Conflicted, she opened the window anyway, but thought about it. Distantly, she heard someone coming. Her heart fluttered in her fear of getting caught, so she hid her presence in the closet of the lecture hall. She peeked out to see that it was the chorus teacher. Evangeline loved to sing, since she sang all throughout her time in heaven as an angel, and she adored singing in school for fun. Perhaps she would understand? Ms. Celos has always been so nice... To explain why Eva was there, she had been on her way to the Hostess Club meeting when she felt a twinge in her body stop her. She couldn't shake the feeling so she thought that some peace and quiet could help her. It hadn't helped her at all, instead it made things worse. Brief flashes of memories came into her mind, making her both confused and curious. She had been called "The Inquisitive One" in Heaven, the title staying with her even though she fell long ago. Her love and curiosity for humanity was her downfall, but she didn't mind, she loved humanity. Perhaps...a bit too much at times. Hesitantly, she stepped out, but all that resulted in was Ms. Celos running into her, making Eva stumble back.
"O-Oh! No no, I should be the one to apologize." Evangeline said quickly as she crouched down and offered her hand to the woman to help her up. Her kindness was always the first to show for people. Despite her fallen status, she really was no different than she was before, except with the added 'dark' personality that came over time without her realizing it. "I appologize for scaring you, I didn't mean to, ma'am." Evangeline was always so polite. "Erm...i'm afraid this is my fault." Evangeline said with a sheepish look on her face. She had been so good about keeping her powers under wraps, but today just wasn't her day. "I-If you are hurt, I can help. I can heal you." Like usual, Evangeline was so giving. Sometimes it hurt her to be so giving, but giving her energy to help those who need healing is what she does best. She looked at the woman with concern, waiting for her to say something.

Stooped down and out You got me begging for thread
A wave of relief washed over Nevy as the mysterious persons turned out to be just a harmless student. If it had been anything else she wouldn’t have known what to do. Bandits, Wild Demons, Assassins- she had heard of all kinds of deadly people that lived amongst humanity in secret; waiting for the opportune moment to strike at those less powerful than others. Which, in all honesty, was to say that the Teacher believed she was not very powerful at all. All her life she had been treated like a fragile being, and in her mind that is what she had become.
But, no fear! There was nothing Nevy feared from her students, and she loved all of them dearly. So, when the young girl apologized, she just offered a gentle smile. “It’s quite alright, accidents happen. Please do not fret!” The phoenix giggled as she pulled herself up from the floor and dusted off her skirt. From what she could tell, no injuries resulted from the fall, which was not a really a big deal. It was just a little stumble that had been half her fault. If she had been watching where she was going then she wouldn’t have bumped into the student in the first place.
“I’m fine--As right as rain! Although, what happened here?” She asked, looking around the messy room with confusion spread across her face. Then she turned back to the girl with a look of sincere concern, “Are you ok? Did you get lost, or something?” Sometimes the newer students tended to get lost within Hisso’s halls. Yet, she had a feeling she had seen this girl before, but….she just couldn’t think of her name. That, and she mentioned healing abilities, which led her to believe she was not of the human race. Whoever she was, she seemed like such a kind girl. “I’m not angry or anything. I’d just like to help.” Nevy said softly, motioning around a pile of upturned chairs.

I FEEL ALIVE WHEN I'M WITH YOU Evangeline smiled back at the chorus teacher, grateful that the woman wasn't hurt. The teacher had said that it was alright, but Evangeline wasn't so sure. She had lost control of her power for a small fraction and this is what happened; the desks and chairs in the classroom were overturned and a mess. Surely this wouldn't have happened if she hadn't used her powers to help people feel better, right? There was a deeper part of the fallen angel that wasn't good to be seen by humanity of any of the creatures that inhabit the earth. She had fallen just 100 or so years ago and she still hasn't been right since the act of her painful descent. Ever since she had started to live on earth with the rest of the creatures that inhabit it, she began to feel a sort of dark presence within her that threatened to come out when she absorbed too much negative emotions from others. The teacher had said she was alright, but Evangeline still fretted. She disliked causing others harm. However, just bumping into another never did cause harm, so she felt better when the teacher said she was fine. "Well i'm glad you're okay," Evangeline replied quietly, smiling kindly back at the woman.
The chorus teacher asked if she was okay and what had happened here. Evangeline hesitated, folding her hands in front of her as her invisible wings shuffled nervously on her back. She still kept them shrouded, hidden from the world she lived in with the humans. While she liked the creatures on the earth and found them fascinating, she wasn't quite sure she'd be accepted as her true self. Though...surely one person might understand? Taking a deep breath, Evangeline looked a bit sheepish as she pushed some of her hair behind her ears. "Right, I understand you're not mad. I'm just...in a bit of a bind." Evangeline finished her sentence lamely, scratching at her cheek a bit. Her amber eyes moved towards Nevy, chuckling nervously. "I was running to the Hostess Club meeting when I got kinda....under the weather." Oh she was a fool to think she could explain without giving away what she was. She was an honest girl who didn't want to lie to others. Biting her lip, Evangeline bowed deeply with her hands folded in front of her, squeezing her eyes shut as she explained all in one breath. "I'm a fallen angel who lost control of her powers since I was helping people feel better by taking their negative energy and keeping it in my body." She took a deep breath and continued on quickly. "But when I was running to the meeting my body couldn't hold much more and so I ran here so I wouldn't hurt anyone and then suddenly it all came out in a burst and now my body hurts and i'm really really really sorry I trashed the classrooom!"
It was better she told the truth, better she let everything all out. She stood up quickly, her cheeks flushed, the color visible against her dark skin. She was embarrased and just told the teacher what type of creature she was. "I'll pick it all up, I promise." Evangeline wanted to cry. Her amber eyes looked at the teacher as her right hand curled in front of her mouth in her nervousness.
