i will break the spell you put on me | everywhere i go, i am spellbound; you cannot have this control on me | Neil Coyle commentary | Neil never really liked the park. Hell, Neil never really liked leaving his room unless he had to. But today he found he couldn't focus on his Video Games. There were a lot of tests coming up, yet he couldn't really find the will to study for them. Maybe that was what was worrying him so much. He loved his games, so maybe he just couldn't play because he felt guilty about not studying? He let out a small sigh. He didn't know why he was having so much issue focusing.
Maybe it had something to do with his mother. He was always worried about her, since when he left her alone she was always really...well, lonely. And now he was going to school so far away from her. He knew she hadn't liked it. She wanted him to commute to a school. But Hisso was where he fit in the most, and that was that. Letting out another Audible sigh, he tried to figure the next thing out.
Where the hell was he going to go? He had come out to Central Park, but he hadn't really considered what he wanted to do or why. Just that he had wanted to do it. He was pretty sure that Iriel would have known what to do. Iriel, no matter how much Neil saw of him, always seemed more or less cheerful. He was outgoing, out there, and surprisingly enough that was just fine with Neil. He didn't mind all of that, and since he had moved in they would often play video games when the both of them were home at the dorm.
It had become a lot less lonely, he supposed. But that was about it. Neil sighed and slipped his hands into his pockets, looking around at whatever really, there was to see. He knew central part was active, and there was so much to do. But he couldn't decide where to go first. |

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Speaking of said outgoing and very strange individual he was currently out and about as he was normally. Not one to stay indoors all the time and be a hermit, the boy had left his dorm early in the morning which left Neil to his own devices. So in theory, his plan of leaving and having Neil follow him into the great outdoors worked, if that had been his plan that is to say.
Currently, the ever moving bird was not moving about like a cracked out bird. He was taking it rather easy in a near by tree and watching children play in the park. It was rather entertaining really, he was positive the two youngsters where related from how they were acting. Tossing a ball back and forth and then teasing one another only to get chased with a stick. Adorable. It almost made Iriel wish he had a sibling. But alas, he was nothing but a single child that was adopted into a human family.
Humans. They were adorable. With a small smile Iriel leaned back in the tree and allowed gravity to take over. He would feel the wind move through his hair and his body jerk to a sudden stop. Ah, right, he had his knees bend around the limb and now hanging upside down with his shirt covering part of his face. Hmm, oh well.
At least he had a rather nice view of someones bott--ohh wait a minute. Didn't he know this person in front of him? Tilting his head to the side to better look at the boys back side his shirt completely fell over his face. Well, so much for that but at least a name came to him.
"Nelly." He greeted from beneath his shirt and gave him and upside down wave. "Hi."

i will break the spell you put on me | everywhere i go, i am spellbound; you cannot have this control on me | Neil Coyle commentary | Maybe he just hadn't been paying enough attention. Because he hadn't taken notice of Iriel at all. Maybe it was because he had been up in the tree, but the werewolf had thought he caught his scent and quickly pushed the thought out of his head because it had been absurd. But it was then Neil heard his roommates voice. With a sigh, the man turned around, his eyes gleaming momentarily as the sunlight caught them.
"Iriel." He commented as he noted the current position that he was in. He pslipped his hands into his pockets, walking over to where he was, looking at him squarely. "Is this where you go when you say you have something important to do?" Honestly he shouldnt have been surprised, and that's ehy he wasn't.
Instead, he lightly poked Iriel's forehead. "Your're weird." His tone was flat, not indicating any sort of insult. Instead, he reached out and lifted Iriel from his upsidedown position with ease, afterwards less than awkwardly holding him up. "...Show me around Central Park." He must have known what there was to do, he was Iriel. Setting him down again, he tool his hands off and jammed them back into his pockets.

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Was this what he did when he had something important to do? Iriel pondered on this and even scratched at his chin which did nothing to help his current situation. "Possibly. I do like squrriels." He commented with a grin hidden behind his flopped over shirt. If he did actually have something important to do then he damn sure as hell couldn't remeber what it might of been. Oh well! Life goes on and so does---wait.
"I'm not weird." The boy whined and allowed the older roommate to put him right side up. With his feet firmly on the ground he rearranged his clothing to make sure no flesh was being showed off to the world. A small pout was put on his face while moving his hair to the left side of his head, sparing a breif moment to look down at the hands that held on for a moment too long. When he was released his mind went into thinking mode
Show him around the park? How was he to show him around the park? What was there to see in the park other then children chasing one another a bit further down the path. Iriel looked to his left and then to his right. With a deadpan experssion he took Neil by the hand and used his free hand to make gestures as he spoke. "Too your left there is trees and to your right there are more trees." He moved further down the path and taking Neil with him.
"Trees. Trees. Trees. Trees. That's a squrriel. Trees. Trees. Freezbie." He paused in his short sentence, looking over at Neil with a bit of a mischevious twinkle in his red eyes. "Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd, trees."

i will break the spell you put on me | everywhere i go, i am spellbound; you cannot have this control on me | Neil Coyle commentary | The werewolf clearly wasn't happy with the explanation of the park as he trailed after Iriel. Of course there were trees, it was a park! But it wasn't just any old park. central park was really, really big. And there were so many places to go but he couldn't figure out what to do. Iriel wasn't helping. He took a deep breath and looked squarely at Iriel, before moving to gently knock him on the head with his fist similar to how one would knock on a door.
"That isn't that I meant." He said simply, before placing his hands back in his pockets. Neil looked out upon the park. His mother had never wanted to take him here when he was younger. She said it was a disgrace, that people destroyed the nature and only left this one piece of land. But Neil wanted to see it for himself. He regretted never getting to enjoy it and the thought made his stomach turn.
"..I heard there was a zoo." Neil said suddenly, his tone..almost pleading. He wanted to see the zoo but he tried not to let Iriel on to that fact so easily. It wasn't working though. He looked forward again. When would he catch the scent of animals? "Do you like zoos? We could..go together." He suggested idly.

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Oh, he knew that wasn't what he meant but he was having a bit of fun with Neil. He couldn't resist being honestly blunt and pointing out everything to him. The light tap the thead did nothing more then cause Iriel to close one eye in fake pain. After the little knock was finished the bird adjusted his brain and stared off into space.
With Neil in toe he just walked aimlessly while trying to figure out what Neil might want to see in the park. The place was rather massive and there was a lot to see in it. But like always, Iriel's brain was busted and he couldn't focus on a single detail about the park that he could share with his friend. Then finally, one detail did appear in his mind and one that he probably shouldn't share but he did so anyways. "I found an area where people make out a lot." He offered helpfully. He hadn't at all thought of how that sounded coming out of his mouth, he never did.
He just talked and offered things without any implications. It was all innocent but normal peoples minds didn't work that way. "I saw this one guy shove his ---" Thankfully, a new subject came to light. "Zoo? Zoo. Zoo!" It was as if someone pulled out a ten year old burnt light blub and replaced it from Iriel's head with a brand new one. "I love the zoo!" With a wide smile he reached out for a hand that wasn't there. Confused, he looke down to Neil's pants were the hands where hiding. Oh, oh that wouldn't do! He wanted to guide him to the zoo and to do that he had to have his hand! With a small huff, Iriel slipped his hand, diffcultly, into Neil's pants pocket. He kept it there for a full twenty seconds and then retrieved the hand from his pocket and started walking.
He was pretty sure the zoo was this way...pretty sure. "They have pandas!"

i will break the spell you put on me | everywhere i go, i am spellbound; you cannot have this control on me | Neil Coyle commentary | Neil wasn't really the kind of person who processed things quickly. He listened to Iriel with a slight interest, though what he said made him blink a couple of times. That kind of confusion that only registered for a bit within his eyes before it vanished. "That isn't the kind of--" he was cut off, seemingly by a jucier part of a story he didn't really want to hear, when Iriel seemed to register what he said.
Now Iriel said he loved the zoo, but having never been there, Neil himself didn't know if he too loved the zoo. "I want to like the zoo." He responded accordingly. He moved uncomfortably when Iriel suddenly jammed his hand into his pocket, and simply waited for him to find what he was looking for as he retrieved his own hand from within his pocket.
He was used to Iriel by now. By now, he was used to his affectionate ways and honestly while it would normally bother him, it didn't when it came to Iriel. Probably because he was the same towards alot of people he met. "I've never seen a Panda in person." He responded, his grip on Iriel's hand loose, if only because he was trying to get a better look at his surroundings despite Iriel's tugging him along. "I want to see a Penguin." He liked penguins, he really did.

The Zoo was a place full cof fun, wonder, and exploration! Iriel loved the zoo and the animals that he could fine there not to mention all the wonderful hiding spots. Sometimes, he went there to take a nap among the rest of the birds or chill in a tree above the tigers. Iriel had no sense of danger or sense of self preservation. It might be part of the brain damage he suffered from his rebirth, who knew. Either way, he was now leading his roommate to the zoo.
he weaved in and out past trees, people, and did his best not to get distracted butt that would fail. Something would always catch his eye, a bug, a freezbie, a childs laugh, and it would always take him at least ten seconds to remeber what he was doing and move on. Eventually, they both made it there and Iriel finally replied. "You'll love it. You can not, not love it."
He spoke a bit too joyfullu and once they entered the zoo it was off like a race. Neil wanted to see pegiuns? He was going to see them! Now, if he could only remeber how to get them, not get distracted, and fully pay attention to his friend. Good luck there...."Penguins....penguins...penguins...." He needed a map. "Map, map, map, ahhh theres a map!"

i will break the spell you put on me | everywhere i go, i am spellbound; you cannot have this control on me | Neil Coyle commentary | Neil wasn't even sure which direction they were going in as Iriel held his hand along the way. He looked around at the many people and things going on as they passed through. There were so many things, and he took notice of Iriel struggling to remember what he was doing. It was hard not to because he was stopping every few minutes and taking at least ten seconds to get moving again. Every so often, Neil would murmur the word "Zoo" close enough to Iriel's ear so he could hear him as well. He liked to think it helped.
"Wait...not not love it?" So what he was saying is, that he would hate it? The werewolf blinked a couple of times before shrugging to himself and following after him. "I don't see how I couldn't love penguins." He said honestly, gently scratching the back of his head with his free hand.
As soon as they entered the zoo all the smells changed. Different animals, cotton candy, the occasional scent of human child vomit, all of those scents were tangling in Neil's nose and causing him so much confusion he found himself squeezing his roommate's hand momentarily before he regained composure. "There's a map in this." He said as he held up the pamphlet he had picked up with his free hand on the way in. It was clear Iriel didn't pay much attention when he was focused on one thing or er...several things at once. But that was alright. He'd help out too.

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on The Zoo, it had so many different smells, movements, sounds, and other sensory overloads that left the young bird a bit dazed. It would take him time to adjust to all the sights and sounds as well as the mental ones of others who, in Iriel's words, thought too loudly. He shook his head lightly as if that would help him become a bit more aware of his surroundings. Either that helped him or Neil's voice had done the trick to reel him back into one mental area.
He turned his full attention to his roommate who held the map in his hands. Perfect, that would now be Iriel's focal point in keeping him from overloading as well as having a huge ADD fit. Well, the ADD might still kick in and there was very little the bird could do about it. Looking at the map, he muttered penguins a few times and once his finger touched the map of where they needed to go he was off like lighting, dragging Neil with him. "This way! See, theres the lions and that over there is the ummm...hippos and that is sea----OH! Ice Cream!" Iriel pulled one way and then another as if he couldn't rightly decide which way to go. He got so easily distracted and probably would of wondered off if Neil wasn't his physical anchor.
Iriel stopped again, forgot what he was doing from being distracted and turned towards Neil for answers and then the map. Penguins. They needed to find the penguins. Okay, to the right---then the left and then right...no problem. Iriel weaved around while keeping both eyes on the map. He wasn't about to look up, if he did he would be lost to the sights again.
Eventually, the two made it there and Iriel pointed at the Penguins. "Ice and Penguins. There they are....they are kinda cute..." He declared while leaning over the railing to get a better look at 'em. "Can we take one home?"

i will break the spell you put on me | everywhere i go, i am spellbound; you cannot have this control on me | Neil Coyle commentary | Neil's senses had finally settled down, but now it seemed to be Iriel on the fritz. Both of them had very sensitive senses, and the fact that he could also hear thoughts as well probably weighed on him a great deal more than it had Neil himself. So he decided he wasn't going to let go of his hand.
Iriel got a bit sidetracked, but he eventually found the Penguins for them. As Neil looked out upon them, he did feel a lot of happiness within himself. Zoos werent as horrible as his mother had said. How could they be when they made you so happy? He watched the penguins waddle, dive, even eat some fish. It really was wonderful to be able to look at animals he didn't usually get to see.
When Iriel asked if they could take one home, Neil knew they couldn't. You weren't allowed to have pets in the dorms, let alone a Penguin. Though Neil cleared his throat. "Wait here." Was all he said, walking to a small plushie kiosk cart not to far. When he came back, he shoved something soft into Iriel's hands. It was a little stuffed Penguin. "We can keep that one." He promised before takinng out the map again. "What do you want to see next?" It was Iriel's turn to choose.

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on If Iriel ever needed to focus on a single test the boy would have to slap some ear plugs in or have some sort of anchor to have him focus on. Too often was he distracted by something else or his memory would relapse on him and leave him confused. Thus, when Neil told him to wait here he looked at him strangely for a mere moment and then seemed content. He turned away from Neil and leaned on the bars to watch the cute birds to their thing. They where rather entertaining for the time Iriel could focus on them.
Soon, his focus drifted without direction and his eyes went to the next exhibit, the flamingos. Before he even knew it, his body started to drift that direction but he didn't make it more then five steps and Neil was back at his side. A moment later, something fluffy was placed in his hands. Looking down, it was a stuffed penguin with the most adorable face ever! His often deadpan look turned into a happy smile and hugged the plush to his chest. "It's so cute!" They couldn't take a real animal home but they could take this one! Oh, this was just too perfect and Iriel hugged the thing with both arms and rested his chin on its fluffy head.
"I shall call it, Mr. Cuddles!" He declared as he completely forgot the flamingos that had caught his eye only moments ago. Upon being asked on what he might like to see next he tilted his head side to side in thought with Mr. Cuddles following his motions. "I wanna see the the living lawn ornaments." The Flamingos suddenly caught his attention once again.

i will break the spell you put on me | everywhere i go, i am spellbound; you cannot have this control on me | Neil Coyle commentary | Neil could have smiled at Iriel's interaction with the little stuffed Penguin, but he didn't. Though one would see a small flash in his eyes if they looked hard enough. Mr. Cuddles was a name he supposed was generic, but he had given the plush creature to Iriel, so Mr. Cuddles it would remain.
As long as he was happy with it, Neil was fine. "Alright, but he can't play with the PS3 flippers aren't good for holding controllers." He mused. No his controller falling to the floor would indeed be most unfortunate. "He can watch, though." He said, looking down to the creatures beady little eyes.
When Iriel mentioned lawn ornaments, Neil looked around. Lawn Ornaments? He blinked, glancing to the pen that was filled with bright pink birds. Without much thought, he moved to take Iriel by the arm, perhaps keeping him focused on the goal of their walk. But since it wasn't far away, it didn't take them long to reach it.
Neil watched them closely, blinking a few times. "Flamingoes. How do they do that?" Neil asked, pointing out that they were standing on one leg. He to brought one of his legs up in an attempt to mimic the pink creatures, only to lose his balance and nearly fall backwards. "I'm glad I'm not a Flamingo." He mused to Iriel as he regained his balance.

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on True, the name Mr. Cuddles wasn't the most orginial name in the world but it worked for Iriel. It might be a name he could remember if he was lucky. But with how common of a name it was it had a better chance of being recalled. Snuggling the penguin plush that he held close to his face he moved along. Allowing Neil to guide him this time he took that moment to look around. There was so many people, so many animals! So many things to look at just as the normal humans looked at Iriel with confusion or shock.
He didn't bring any sunglasses with him today because to be completely honest, he forgot them. The humans around him viewed his eyes as a bit freaky and assumed they where tattooed like the rest of his body. However, Iriel paid no mind to them and snapped his eyes away from another type of animal to the birds at hand.
Neil keeping a hold of him did help the boy focus better and not wonder off to get lost. Iriel smiled lightly at the flamingo's and chuckled at their funny way of standing. How did that do it? "Maybe they are part demon?" He offered slowly while wondering the samething. "They are pretty. I like them too."
Iriel view Neil's mini preformance with a peeked interest. With a tilted head he chuckled and reached out to help stablize his friend. Once the boy rightened and not about to fall over, Iriel patted him lightly. "So am I. I'm not sure how I would handle a flamingo Na--" He paused to recall the name. "Nail..." a moment later it came to him. "Nelly."

i will break the spell you put on me | everywhere i go, i am spellbound; you cannot have this control on me | Neil Coyle commentary | Neil nodded. "I don't think they're part demon as much as just...being the way they were made." The world spawned some strange creatures indeed, but being human for so many years before being turned, Neil hadn't really been too skeptical of things being supernatural because of how they were...well, most things anyway. Neil glanced back to Iriel as he seemed to struggle with remembering his name.
And if Neil didn't know better it would have hurt, but Iriel had already done this to him before, and he recovered the name surprisingly faster than the last time. "Iri." He said as he now turned his amber-green gaze away from the Flamingoes. "Can we go see the wolves?" He asked the young man before him, curious as to if they even had wolves.
Wolves were the reason his mother never took him here. But could captive wolves really be that bad? They didn't really...survive the way they did. "I want to ask them some questions." He said to Iriel without thinking to much into it. He took Iriel's arm again. "Come on." He was hoping Iriel would look at the map because he bad no idea where he was going.
