BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Neil might say that the birds were not part demon but Iriel thought otherwise. How else could a bird stand on one leg like that? He sure as hell could not to that kind of thing. He should know, he's tired many times and usually just fell on his face. Damn those demon birds. Iriel snorted lightly, "Made with demonic balance powers." And that was that. Iriel was set on thinking flamingos were demonic.
A change of subject caused the bird to blink a moment as he had to register what a wolf was in his brain. Once he realized what it was he was being pulled away by Neil. Instantly, the bird went to the map though went at a leisurely pace. Iriel wanted to take his time now that his ADD had settled down and wasn't going crazy as hell. Humming a small song to himself, his eyes combed the map. Subconsciously, a hand came to wrap around the Neil's arm and his hand rested on his forearm. Neil did have his arm after all and he was going to make himself comfortable with it.
Tattooed fingers idly picked at the fabric near the werewolves joint. As they made their journey towards the wolves Iriel gave out directions that would lead to their destination. Though as always, he would stop for a brief moment to view an animal in passing. Iriel would say something about it and then they would move on.
It took them a good five minutes to reach the wolves and Iriel remained attached to his roommate. He stood silently by with the map in hand and his penguin raised up to his face where he hugged it. His face was hidden from eyes down but he smiled at the beast below in the pit. They looked comfortable just like Iriel who then leaned against Neil with his head resting against the older males's shoulder.
"Their pretty." He offered after a moment of silence. "And they look cuddly." Tilting his head up and lowering the penguin slightly he put his full focus on Neil. "What'cha gonna ask them?" Now he was curious and for a change, Iriel remembered the reason they went somewhere. Lowering his gaze back down he returned his head to the werewolves shoulder. "I hope it's something that leads me to cuddling them..." | WORDS | xxx. | Tag: Neil Coyle| @xxx. | NOTES | -----| MUSIC | xxx. MADE BY VEL OF GS

i will break the spell you put on me | everywhere i go, i am spellbound; you cannot have this control on me | Neil Coyle commentary | There wasn't really ever a time where Neil wasn't calm. Even when he was angry Neil never seemed to lose his cool. So he listened to Iriel every time he stopped. His attention would turn to the creature that his roommate was talking about. He noticed little things, like how excited Iriel always seemed when talking about something he was enjoying. He was the same way when they played video games at the dorm.
By the time that they reached the wolves, they had probably seen half the zoo. Neil looked over the rail at the animals, who seemed to look up at him in turn. He was about to start conversing with them when Neil felt a warmth on his shoulder. His face went surprisingly pink upon discovering it was in fact Iriel. He cleared his throat softly, before looking back at the creatures. "I don't think they're the cuddling type." He stated when he has calmed.
He spoke back and forth with the wolves bia telepathy. They would reveal to him it truly wasn't as bad as said mother thought that it was, and Neil agreed that it didn't seem it. He added Iriel's question about cuddling but their answer only served to make him blush harder. "...they said you don't need to cuddle then because you're already cuddling a wolf..." He mumbled to Iriel, turning his face so he wouldn't see how red he was.

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Poor Neil, he had such patience when it came to his roommate and boy did he ever need it. Iriel was always in so many different places at once mentally that many could consider Iriel to be exhausting. But when he could focus on a single thing he was almost normal...almost.
Red eyes stared down at the wovles with interest while he continued to use Neil as his personal pillow. There was the possibility that Iriel could listen in onto their conversation though he was unable to due to being somewhere else mentally. Plus, there was a good chance that he wouldn't be able to understand wolf anyways. So, he kept himself occupied by studying things around him. He took note of the way the wolves behaved, how people watched them and finally the look on Neil's face.
Why was it pink suddenly? Was he feeling bad? Had he gotten too much water? Curiously, Iriel reached out and poked the boy on the cheek and kept his finger there for a moment longer. "You feeling okay?" He asked with concern. "You're face looks funny. Did the wolves say something funny?" Glancing over at the beast below he went back and forth between the two of them with confusion.
"You don't look so good, come here." Physically, he turned Neil to the side away from the wolves, gently he rested his hands on either side of Neil's face and brought him down to his level. Iriel pressed his lips to Neil's forehead. He remembered his father did this all the time when they thought Iriel had a fever and so, he mirrored his father. Hmm, no. No, he couldn't feel a fever...hmmm..
Perplexed, the bird pulled away. "You don't have a fever..." His thoughts went to the other possibilities. Maybe it was a sudden sunburn? His face seemed to get worse when he voiced the wolves words. Deadpan, the boy blinked a few times with his hands still very much attached to Neil's face.
"But you're not furry...."

i will break the spell you put on me | everywhere i go, i am spellbound; you cannot have this control on me | Neil Coyle commentary | Neil didn't feel the fire in his face getting any better. But what he didn't understand was why he was suddenly feeling this way. Well...maybe it wasn't so sudden. He had noticed it before when Iriel was around but never really put much thought into it. Never really much to think about the whole thing. Iriel was Iriel...wasn't he? He blinked slowly a few times as he watched Iriel, amber-green following his hands until the rested on his face.
"Iriel?" But he didn't have time to say anything else as the Phoenix pressed his lips to his forehead. He was pretty sure it wasn't because the boy had the sudden urge to kiss him, but was this a Phoenix thing? Wither way it made him face a little redder. "I...I don't have a fever..." Neil insisted, almost childishly so as he was forced to look at Iriel anyway.
"I don't have fur in this form. But i've got the heart an instinct of any wolf. That's what they mean." He explained to Iriel in a low voice so the humans around wouldn't hear them. Maybe he had forgotten that Iriel still held his face in his hands, but he pulled back when he finally did, turning from Iriel and placing a hand over his own face "Is...there anything else you want to see?"

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on The confusion remained on the birds face. If he wasn't feeling ill then why was his face so red? Could it be a sunburn after all? Iriel's unblinking gaze never left the wolves face. He just stared at him as if he was studying him and there was a good chance he was doing just that. Iriel didn't understand certain things in the human world regardless of the fact he was raised by humans. There was just somethings that where beyond him due to rebirth or things that he just never experienced yet.
What other purpose would there be that would lead to a person's face to turn those colors? It fascinated Iriel and he wanted to know as well as understand those reactions that Neil was going through. A noise beside him caused the bird to finally blink and look away. A wolf was sitting closer to the fence and watching them. If he didn't know any better he would of thought the beast was laughing at them.
"He's not sick." The bird confirmed vocally. Neil was now out of his reach physically and so he turned his hands to hold Mr. Cuddles with both. "Hmm, I wanna touch your fur." Of course, that couldn't happen among human's but it was something Iriel now wanted to do thanks to the wolves looking so fluffy.
The bird smiled and hide it behind his penguin. He did his best to now focus on the next question and used Mr. Cuddles to hold the map for him---well it was actually Iriel holding both but trying to make it look like Mr. Cuddles was doing all the work. "Is there anything we haven't seen yet?" He inquired, sparing a steady glance at Neil's poor face. It was still a bit pink. It made Iriel feel, well, he wasn't sure why but he felt kinda special to have seen it.
Maybe, one day his cheeks would go as pink as that around someone...or get a sunburn? Or well, whatever caused that to happen? Hmm, he would have to look that up later tonight.

i will break the spell you put on me | everywhere i go, i am spellbound; you cannot have this control on me | Neil Coyle commentary | Neil blinked. Iriel seemed to not undrstand and that was fine. He knew it hadn't been meant in the way that would lead to likely something else he didn't really have a vast understanding of. His face became a little less red. "I think we've seen about enough." He glanced at the wolf sitting close to the corner of the pit and glared. Stupid wolf. He took Iriel by the arm again. "So lets go back to the dorm." -- It had taken them a bit to reach their dorm, and Neil finally said a little more as he opened the door. "Thanks for showing me the zoo. I wouldn't have gotten to see it otherwise." He offered him a soft nod to show he was grateful.
"I can show you battery park one day, I know more about that." He said as he took a soda from the fridge and sat down on the couch. He had to admit he was kind of tired. The zoo had been more excitement than he anticipated.

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on With a small nod, Iriel agreed with Neil. Maybe, it was time to call the Zoo done. They had been here a long while. Being pulled away he waved goodbai to the wolf and left. On the way back, Iriel walked with Neil and hung on his arm. He expressed the things he liked and the things he didn't about the zoo.
Once they reached the dorm and returned to their own, the bird kicked of his shoes with a sigh of relief. "Hmm? Oh, you're welcome. I had a lot of fun." Pushing his shoes out of the way the boy placed Mr. Cuddles on the sofa and went to his room for a moment. Feeling a bit tired, he tossed off his shirt and threw it into the hamper in exchange for a clean and baggy shirt. Wondering back into the living area, Iriel took a seat next to Neil and brought Mr. Cuddles in for a cuddle.
Leaning against the arm of the sofa, the bird rested his bare feet on Neil's thigh. His toes curled and poked at the boy. "I would like that." He remarked with another soft smile and made Mr. Cuddles nod. "And so would Mr. Cuddles." He didn't realize how tired he felt until he sat down. Man, did walking the zoo really take that much out of him? The boy wiggled down onto the sofa to rest his head on a pillow and bending his knees to keep Neil as his personal foot stool.

i will break the spell you put on me | everywhere i go, i am spellbound; you cannot have this control on me | Neil Coyle commentary | If Iriel were to look at the young wolf at his side, he'd realize that he was starting to nod off. But as soon as he placed his feet into his lap, he blinked awake again. The little Penguin really did have a cute face. Neil blinked at Mr. Cuddles, moving to poke hus beak with a finger. Neil took a look out the window, noticing the sky was starting to turn gray.
"Its about to rain." Neil murmured, half to himself and half to Iriel. His thoughts were confirmed as the clouds ripped open aand rain began tumbling onto the window. If he were being honest, he had hurried them home because the smell of fresh water had been starting to permeate his senses. He sighed, finally turning in the television.
He squinted at the man with white hair on the screen. Apparently they had left it in the cooling channel, he thought to himself, repositioning himself so his head rested on Iriel's rib cage. For the roommates, this was surprisingly normal. Neil had grown accustomed to it only through Iriel. "...what kind of name is Bobby Flay anyway? It sounds like something you name a kid if you want them to get beat up on the playground."

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on If Iriel took note of his roommates sleepiness or not was up for a very clear debate. Though, that debate would be forgotten in the next moment when a rumble in the sky cause the bird to raise his head slightly to look towards the window. A look of clear disgust was there and discomfort. Iriel Parker did not like the rain nor did he like being wet for that matter. If they had been caught in that rain it would of not ended well and Neil would have to deal with a very cold and unhappy roomie then.
Lucky for them Neil got them both home safe and dry. With a small moan Iriel covered his face with Mr. Cuddles the moment Neil poked it. He moaned into the bird followed by, "I hate rain..." Iriel let out a groan and lowered Mr. Cuddles to rest on his chest. The sudden pressure on his ribs was nothing unusual. As Neil got used to Iriel, Iriel had gotten used to him. Being used as a pillow made the bird forget his water troubles.
He turned to view the television while one hand idly moved through Neil's hair as it had a habit of doing when they both rested like this on the sofa. "What was his parent's thinking...that's a horrible name. They might as well named him, Dick. Dick Flay. Flaying dicks sense 1920." A soft chuckle came from the bird at his own poorly made joke.
Together, they watched the magical picture box. A moment later, the bird moaned again. "Hnnnn, it's gonna rain tomorrow? I'm not getting out of bed if that's true."

i will break the spell you put on me | everywhere i go, i am spellbound; you cannot have this control on me | Neil Coyle commentary | Neil felt his roommates hand running through his hair. It was a gentle touch, gentle strokes, it made him feel good. He closed his eyes, nestling a but closer to Iriel's body, enjoying the natural warmth that emanated from his body. "I don't know how they got away with naming him that. I would have been si mad at my mother." He answered with a soft nod.
He listened to Him groan about the rain, and he nodded, his eyes closing again at the soft touches to his hair. "I don't know how long its going to rain. " he answered with a yawn. "But you can stay in my bed. You were probably going to do it anyway." The werewolf mentioned quietly, before he opened his eyes.
His attention was briefly on the show, but he found himself nodding off again. He was just so comfortable.

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Rain splattered upon their dorm window with a strong hello. Iriel did nothing other then promptly fly the bird at the window. Fucking rain. At least he was inside where it was nice and warm. With a heavy sigh he lowered his hand to his face, rubbing his eyes. Looking away from the rain he turned his vision to the sleep wolf resting against his side. "Hey," he said softly. "Wanna migrate to the bed? It's probably more comfortable." He waited for a reply and wouldn't move until he received one because that took effort.
Closing his eyes Iriel continued to molest Neil's hair. His hand moved through the strands easily for a moment. But as the seconds progressed his hand became curious and moved down past his hair, down his neck, and to his shoulders. He shifted slightly only to increase his reach to slide across Neil's collar bone. It was nothing more then a light touch of exploration.
Iriel had no idea why he was doing it but he was, perhaps he was just tired with wondering hands doing their own thing. "I would hate my mother if she named me that too...I would get picked on worse then I do now." he joked lightly. The idly hand was now making lazy passes around his collar and back to his hair and then down again. "It's because you have the warmer bed that's not so close to the window." He remarked with a soft laugh.

Neil was fading in an out of sleep by now, that was until he felt Iriel's smooth touches along his collarbone. It was strange how it was so relaxing yet it sent a jolt through his body at the same time. Iriel nodded at the suggestion. "Probably. Bobby Flay is putting me to sleep." He muttered, lettinng him pass the hand over once more before getting up and heading to the bed.
He really liked how soft the bed was and he lightly kicked off his shoes, shrugging off his shirt as he usually did. He felt uncomfortable usually, sleeping with one on. The next thing he did was lay down, making room for Iriel.
"Anytime." The wolf said to the Phoenix as he relaxed into his favorite pillow. These roommates were indeed one odd pair.

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Iri chuckled again, "Yeah, he's putting me to sleep too." He released his hold on Neil and watched him walk off to bed. Iriel waited a moment, turned off the television, and then followed after Neil. Iriel was not going to be sleeping in his own bed tonight. It was too close to the window and the cool rain would make him think he's getting cold or wet.
Shuffling over, Iriel did the same as Neil, he took off his shirt and tossed it somewhere in the room. That bird didn't like sleeping with a shirt on and his jeans followed. He wasn't about to go to bed in that either. Flopping over on the spot made for him he covered himself up and snuggled up on a pillow. His left hand pulled his hair free of a ponytail it had been kept in and tossed that hair tie somewhere in the room.
Hugging the pillow beneath him he sighed softly and listened to the silence. The sounds of the hard rain kept the bird from falling asleep instantly. So, he decided to try and make himself tired. Wiggling a bit closer to steal Neil's body heat, he tapped his leg with his toes. "I don't think I'll be able to sleep." sighed the bird who now took it upon himself to watch neil.
He found himself soon looking over the boy, well, the parts he could see anyways. Shaking his head he moved closer again. Took a breath and waited, yep, no sleep was happening. Great. Well, at least he was comfortable. "Hey, Neil." he spoke softly. His hand came out again to touch Neil.

i will break the spell you put on me | everywhere i go, i am spellbound; you cannot have this control on me | Neil Coyle commentary | He was never really good at making people feel comfortable. He glanced at Iriel as he joined him within his own bed. It had been a little while, but he had grown used to Iriel being there. Used to him being within his bed, waking up and finding the Phoenix tangled within the sheets. The Omega was used to this, and more quickly than not found himself almost expecting it. He supposed that was the Iriel affect.
Though the rain comforted him, and lulled him into a light sleep, it didn't seem to be doing any good for Iriel. Neil breathed evenly, the wolf finally falling asleep after a very long day. He felt the soft fabric of Mr.Cuddles pushing against his arm as well. He heard Iriel call his name and his eyes opened slowly. He was becoming quite loyal to Iriel's call, which was normal for Neil when he became closer to someone. Just like man's best friend, a wolf had similar traits.
"Try not to pay attention to the rain." He said as he felt Iriel's hand rest on his cheek in the dim light of their dorm room. He moved to voulintarily pull Iriel as close as possible, knowing that the Phoenix used body heat to help him relax. "Just keep your eyes closed. Don't open them for anything. Your body will force you to fall asleep." He instructed gruffly. |

BLOW A KISS, FIRE A GUNAll we need is someone to lean on Neil was correct in that observation the rain did nothing for the flaming bird. All it did was urk him, make him feel uncomfortable and keep him up. The rain was evil for his kind and even the sound of it made him uneasy. Yet, resting in Neil's bed gave him comfort and encouraged him to try and rest peacefully. Neil told him to try not to pay attention to the rain but it was so hard, so loud, and so...well..wet sounding. Cringe worthy really.
Still, he focused on what Neil told him. Try not to pay attention. Pretend that it was something else maybe? Like a crackling flame that rested in a fireplace. Yes, that sounded much better. Curling up against the wolf who now held him close he did as told. He closed his eyes and then promptly buried his face in the other boy's chest with Mr. Cuddles in his arms. Pulling the blankets up to his ears he worked on picturing a fire rather then water.
"Neil.." He said softly into his chest with a hand resting on it. He wiggled slightly to look up at the other, blinked once and reburied his face. Silence came between them then for a brief moment. "No, never mind." He decided to keep his words to himself and just enjoy the warmth that was Neil. The kid could produce heat like no other and smelled rather...well...nice. Closing his eyes once again the phoenix focused on sleeping against Neil. He tired and tired but it didn't happen. He had to do something, something to make himself tired or entertain him for the night.
Though, it happened to be quite dark in the room and hide most everything in sight; Iriel found the thing to entertain him. Either he never noticed or either he forgotten about seeing, Neil had scars on his rib cage. He couldn't see them well but he could feel with with his fingers. Idly, his index and forefinger went up and down the scar lightly to see how long it actually was and how raised the skin was too.
"It feels painful..." He spoke mostly to himself under his breath then to the possibly sleeping Neil.
